As part of my daily routine and to aid my amateur research into mass shootings, I have Google alerts sent to me each morning with a collection of stories that include the term “mass shooting”. A lot of them are the same story over and over, after the Bondi Beach shooting that was all the email linked to for days.
The other day I was scanning through and saw this story from an outfit calling itself “LGBTQ Nation”, so you know it was going to be good:
Trump is worsening mass shootings nationwide
Huh. That is interesting mostly because it is so completely wrong.
We just covered this in my posts 2025: The Year In Mass Shootings and A Photo Finish! where it was noted that last year in 2025 under Trump mass shootings were down bigly. With the current tally for 2025 standing at 408 mass shootings according the leftist Gun Violence Archive that is a drop of almost 100 mass shootings from 2024 under Pedo Joe Biden (503 is the official 2024 number). It is also more than 200 fewer mass shootings than the average under the AutoPen regime which saw on average over 623 mass shootings per year for that four year term.
In the spirit of being fully transparent…in Trump’s final year in office in 2020 there were 611 mass shootings during the riots of the Summer of Love following the heart failure of Saint George Floyd of the Fentanyl (pbuh). That was still lower than 3 of the 4 years under Biden and the average for Trump’s first term was a meek 426 mass shootings even with 2020 as an outlier.
You would think someone that claimed to care about “gun violence” would applaud Trump for overseeing a significant drop in mass shootings in his first year back in office. 95 fewer mass shootings in 2025 versus 2024 seems like progress and a decrease of around 35% fewer mass shootings than was the average under his predecessor seems like something advocates would cheer.
You would think that because you aren’t an insane degenerate but if you write for “LGBTQ Nation” the only mitigating factor you need to consider is this:

We will get to the author of the piece in a moment, and that will explain everything, but first off we have to ask: what is it that the author presents as evidence that “Trump is worsening mass shootings nationwide”?
Well…absolutely nothing. The sub-headline of the article states “He said he could shoot a person on 5th Avenue and no one would care. Parents of school shooting victims certainly care.”
Um. What does that have to do with the price of peanuts in Peru? Are we supposed to think that Da’La’Quiff’Alikus was considering having a civil conversation with Jer’shar’kwon about being dissed but then remembered Trump quipping that he could shoot a person and no one would care and instead decided to empty his stolen Glock into a crowd? GTFOH.
There must be more evidence for the sweeping claim that “Trump is worsening mass shootings nationwide”! Right? Well there is this….
Over the past several decades since the 1990s, gun violence has increased exponentially. Presidents — from Clinton to Bush, Obama, and Biden — have stepped up by showing our country their compassion and empathy for the victims, their families, friends, and for a frightened nation that demands an end to these senseless deaths and injuries that weaken our entire body politic.
While Trump did suggest a few policy changes to improve school safety and mental health community resources, he is not particularly known for his “consoler-in-chief” skills, unlike , for example, Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and before them Presidents Franklin Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan.
Well now we are getting somewhere. Clinton, Bush, Obama and Biden showed “compassion” and “empathy”. Sure we saw 2,495 mass shootings under Biden, an average of 623 per year or more than one and a half every single day but damnit he looked sad on camera when he was supposed to! Maybe he was sad about not getting his second pudding cup at lunch but sad is sad after all.
What else does the author present as “proof” that “Trump is worsening mass shootings nationwide”?
No statistics that compare and contrast mass shootings under Trump versus any other President, and we know why that is “missing”. The author does cite some statistics showing that there are a lot of shootings in the U.S. compared to other civilized nations:
Today in the United States, there are approximately 120 firearms per 100 people. Our country ranks high when compared with 22 other wealthy industrialized nations in per capita gun-related deaths, with 4.054 per 100,000 residents — compared with, for example, the United Kingdom at 0.047, Japan at 0.003, Germany at 0.065, Indonesia at 0.08, and Oman at 0.066.
A study by The American Journal of Medicine found that though the U.S. has half the population of the other 22 nations combined, it accounted for 82% of all gun deaths and 90% of all women killed by firearms worldwide. Also, 91% of youth under the age of 14 who died by gun violence, and 92% of young people between ages 15 and 24 who were killed by guns both lived in the United States.
Are there any other mitigating factors to consider in places like Japan when compared to America? Why is Oman included in the comparison when it has a population of barely 5 million people and a per capita GDP that ranks in the 50s globally?
Of course there is absolutely no mention of race in the report because why would you look at the single most significant factor in mass shootings? With the vast majority of all mass shootings and around 2 out of 3 mass shootings with 10 or more victims being committed by blacks, who are only 13% of the population, doesn’t that seem like something you would include in any conversation about mass shootings? Well of course not.
This isn’t a serious piece that relies on hard data to back up it’s central claim that “Trump is worsening mass shootings nationwide”. It reads like something written by a female college freshman which is actually not far off.
The author of this drivel is one “Dr.” Warren J. Blumenfeld. Here he is and as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words…

You know he is a serious scholar because his middle initial is included. Is “Dr.” Blumenfeld a medical doctor or perhaps has a doctorate in some sort of statistical analysis? Nope, he has a doctorate in the least prestigious possible doctorate you can obtain: “education”. A couple of my high school teachers had their Ed.D. and they were teaching high school English and French at a rural high school if I remember correctly so that is pretty impressive.
Wait, it gets better. “Dr.” Blumenfeld is a lecturer at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and his Curriculum Vitae tells us more about his educational background, using the word “educational” in the loosest possible sense. Check out the topic of his dissertation….

This is the kind of stuff people on the left consume every waking moment. DONALD TRUMP IS MAKING PEOPLE SHOOT EACH OTHER and other hysterical pronouncements. Not a shred of actual evidence to back up the statement and in fact the actual evidence refutes the claim but that doesn’t matter because Orange Man Bad even though Orange Man Bad has done jackshit when it comes to reinforcing gun rights in any concrete sense despite overwhelming support from 2A advocates and gun owners.
Something I try to reinforce is that this isn’t about Donald Trump at all. To people like “Dr.” Warren J. Blumenfeld and your family members that stopped talking to you because you voted for Trump he is simply a talisman, a vicarious symbol that they have poured all of their hatred and resentment into, hatred and resentment that is really directed not at Trump but at you. Trump is the totem that represents the people that laughed at “Dr.” Warren J. Blumenfeld for being faggy or your family members that channeled their grudges against you into Trump.
It is the same on the flipside. For MAGA fanatics, Trump embodies their anger at seeing their country destroyed. They flocked to him instead of saying the uncomfortable truths and naming names. He provided a safe channel for understandable anger, giving the anger of tens of millions of Americans an outlet, a pressure valve if you will, by letting MAGA voters “elect” Trump instead of hanging politicians.
As soon as he won in 2016 and again in 2024, his alleged “America First” agenda was neatly co-opted to serve the same interests that would have been served under Cumala: Israel. Globohomo corporations, especially the Military-Industrial Complex. The mandarin class in D.C. and other self-appointed elites. The funny thing, if you are into dark humor that is, is that Trump has no idea it is happening again just as he had no idea when it happened in 2016 after he jettisoned Bannon and started taking his cues from Jared “Grima Wormtongue” Kushner.
While all of that is true, it still doesn’t make it less revolting to see people like “Dr.” Warren J. Blumenfeld flat out lying. I don’t know if he didn’t bother to look at the numbers or if he did but just didn’t care. No one is going to pay him to write “Well I was wrong and mass shootings are actually down significantly under Trump” so he lies and gets paid and they all pretend it is true.
People who, wittingly or not, write stuff like this in service to the Powers That Be don’t care about “gun violence” just as they didn’t care about George Floyd and black lives, or the poor or the working class or anyone else. They say and write what they are supposed to say and write because that is how they get to keep “working” meaningless jobs like lecturing about “Social Justice Education” for a few hours a week, scribbling some ridiculous posts and spending the rest of their time looking for strangers with whom they can have random butt sex.
