The Hoosier state 2Gs won’t let their southern brethren have all the fun on Halloween weekend!
Seven injured in shooting on Kirkwood Avenue, Bloomington Police say
Seven people were injured early in the morning of Nov. 1 after multiple gunshots were fired on Kirkwood Avenue in Bloomington, according to a release from the city’s police department.
Four men and three women, ages 17 to 27, were taken to the hospital with injuries. At this time, police do not believe those injured attend Indiana University, according to the release.
Around 1:30 a.m., officers from Bloomington Police and the Indiana University Police Department were keeping an eye on a large crowd in the area of Kirkwood Avenue and Dunn Street when they heard gunshots in the 400 block of East Kirkwood Avenue after a disturbance, the release stated. Officers spotted a man with a firearm running northeast, chased him and took him into custody east of Indiana Avenue near Dunn Meadow, according to police.
Police said the man had an AR-15 style handgun, but as of the middle of the day Nov. 1, they did not know whether he had fired it at that time. The man, whom the release described as an 18-year-old from Indianapolis, was arrested for resisting law enforcement and unlawful possession of a firearm, according to the release.
Officers also collected an AK-47 pistol from one of the injured individuals, according to the release. Police found shell casings from two calibers of guns where the shooting occurred, but they don’t know how many people fired the weapons, according to the release. No fatalities have been reported, the release stated.
All of those injured live in Indianapolis except one, who resides in Greenwood, according to police.
As so often is the case in college towns, the shooting was carried out by people who are not students but were just in town for shenanigans.

It wasn’t hard to find the 18 year arrested for the shooting and of course he is a cricket, one Kenneth Lamar Scott. I will guess the person injured with the AK pistol, also from Indianapolis no doubt, is also black.
This was a very busy weekend in shootings as I anticipated and we still have today to get through.
