Community outraged after viral video shows mom, children being jumped by students outside South Deering school
Not just a school, an elementary school!
Parents and community members are outraged after a video that has gone viral on social media shows a mom and her children being attacked by students Monday as they walked home from Orville Bright Elementary School on the city’s Far South Side.
Dozens of people showed up to the school Tuesday morning demanding accountability, some saying they’re shocked but not surprised by Monday’s incident and that the students involved should be expelled.
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Chicago Public Schools have responded to the attack, which sent 33-year-old Chicago mom Corshawnda Hatter and her 9-year-old son to Trinity Hospital in serious condition. The mayor called the incident “absolutely gut-wrenching” and “appalling.”
CPS, meanwhile, has not released any details of consequences the students involved in the attack may face but says it’s working with city departments and agencies to provide support to Hatter and her children.
Chicongo Mayor Brandon Johnson is appalled. Appalled I tell ya! As usual he has the perfect solution:
It is critical that we provide the necessary resources to our public education system so that every school community has counselors and mental health professionals.
That will fix it, hire more non-teaching staff to add to an already bloated system that is bleeding money. I am sure that the packs of feral elementary school aged yoofs that are “terrorizing the community” just need to talk to a “mental health professional” and that will fix it.
The video from WGN in Chicongo is delightful, I love how “Corshawnda” is hamming it up like she is so injured and distraught that she can barely walk, not to mention the people chanting “No justice, no peace”. Uh, what exactly does that mean in this context? Are they going to burn down the neighborhood or something? You have to watch it on Youtube as it is “age restricted” which is also funny as the video shows underage kids attacking an adult.
I am sure “Corshawnda” has already hired an attorney to sue the Chicago Public Schools because she was attacked by a horde of niglets.

The attackers looked to be mostly in the single digit age range which begs the eternal question: what are they going to be like as older teens and adults if they are attacking adults already?
There was minor bullying when I was in school, some pushing and shoving and name calling but attacking an adult? That would have been unthinkable.

Before I dismissed myself from the table of GoSports, the Broncos fired whatever coach and hired Josh McDaniels, a mentee of the one and only Bill Belicek.
One of the first things McD’s did is send the big Vandy alum, who was at the time declared to be the next Elway, packing to Chicongo and then installed the one and only Tim Tebow. After an 0-6 start or something to that effect I expressed the hope that the Broncos would lose enough games as quickly as possible so that McDaniels would get sent back to NE and the Broncos could then hire a real coach with more brain than hubris. Rabid Broncos’ fans were irate to hear the thought that a supposed Broncos’ fan wanted to see the Broncos lose, for no matter what reason. Even if losing hastened the return to a sound, competitive football team.
I have a tough time nowadays not wishing and hoping for an acceleration of the decline and collapse, not because I am eager for the failure, pain and death that will accompany the collapse, but rather so that a hastened collapse will make way for a hastened fixing/restoring/whatever sensible, productive thing one wishes for following a collapse.
The quicker the collapse, the less time to break everything needed on the other side.
Everyone feels it, a long, slow, shuddering collapse of most of the networks and infrastructure will leave little to rebuild with while a quick crisis and a select 20% stood up against the wall will leave something to salvage.
