Jimmy Carter finally died today at the ripe old age of 100. I have mentioned that Carter was the first President I remember being in office and I still recall watching the returns in 1980 when Reagan mopped the floor with him.
Carter generally did what former Presidents were supposed to do, he lived out his days mostly in obscurity and in his case did a lot of work with Habitat for Humanity. After the shellacking of 1980 there was no chance he would ever run again so he simply faded into the background.
For many years I assumed Carter would go down as the worst President in my lifetime, he was so grossly incompetent and overwhelmed by the job, highlighted by his impotence in response to the Iran hostage crisis (especially the lethally botched rescue attempt) and his mishandling of the economy but what really killed him was the way he acted helpless in the face of problems, lending to the feelings of hopelessness and malaise that swamped America. Then Reagan came along and proclaimed better days were ahead and it wasn’t a hard choice for the electorate.
Now? Carter was incompetent but compared to Obama and Biden, not to mention W. Bush? He isn’t even close to the worst President in my lifetime. He probably is tied for fourth with George H.W. Bush who managed to match Carter’s befuddled incompetence. The really depressing part is that other than Reagan in his first term and Trump in small bursts, every President in my lifetime has been an incompetent dolt.
I won’t bother with an insincere “rest in peace” because I simply don’t care. At least Carter can be credited with being so incompetent that he ushered in Reagan but little else good can be said about him.
Until White People like you and me want Power instead of being left alone we will continue to be ruled by fools and people who hate us…
Jimmy Carter was able to pass on secure in the knowledge that he will not be viewed as the worst president of the last 50 years. That is a unenviable distinction now held by pedo joey, though one could make a case that the halfrican faggot should be awarded the title, for he was truly shit-tier, and without his ruinous turn in the big chair, it’s far less likely joey shitpants would’ve have been elevated to the position.
Now turn down your thermostat, put on a sweater, and limit your speed to 55 MPH, just like Jimmah asked y’all too.
Good summary. Nothing to add.
Like the rest already mentioned, the most good he did was fading into obscurity after the fact. Shit president, but positively benign by comparison to some of the most recent.
Jimmy Carter was a globalist and the prototype of the “incompetent” president. “Man, he’s so smart! How could he put that A Hole in charge of (whatever)?” And the one I heard growing up until we all believed it was true “He’s really smart, he just does a terrible job of picking people”. He did the job he was put in office (by the globalists) to do, which was weaken America economically and militarily, and weaken Americans’ confidence and to demoralize the nation. He got blamed for being a really smart, but dumb peanut farmer who meant well. While the globalist henchmen around him kinda got blamed for effing everything up. Which eventually led to a huge populist upswelling resulting in the two terms of Reagan-whom the globalists were very careful to collar him with the tranny-effing QAF, George HW Bush. Carter was the pattern and the forerunner for all the “stupid” presidents we’ve had since.
Well frees up a little bit of money (salary) and some Secret Service agents. Maybe the best thing he’s done.
I’m just a wee bit older than you, so my memory of him is his intense bro-love for Yassar Arafat and any other third world shit-hole tin-pot dictator. And he didn’t really live his life in obscurity after 1980 either. He continued trying to help dictators around the world. He served as an honorary “ambassador” on more than a few occasions when the Clintons needed help. He was an “election monitor” for those types of countries where the winner generally gets 100% of the popular vote, giving them the fig leaf cover of a democracy as only an ex-president can. He made a general nuisance of himself while the media fell all over themselves proclaiming his humanitarian aid bullshit. And 90% of the stupid houses he supposedly built were crap too.
All the obits today are going to be full of the lies about his humanitarian work, how he was a good person at heart, that sort of shit. Totally false. He’d give you that big shit-eating peanut farmer grin and then turn around and fuck you in the ass, no lube, full ride, while talking about building habitats for humanity as if that made your ass-fucking feel better.
Hope he burns in hell.
Exactly.
Yes! This. Usual normie websites are full of usual assinine normie comments about how he was such a ‘good man’ and ‘humanitarian.’ Bullcrap. He was a lying, smug, virtue-signalling POS and I’m glad he’s finally, finally dead.
Should have dropped a hammer on him when he stepped in my work area without a hard hat ..
I second that. I always wondered how he ever was able to be a nuclear sub engineer?
Chris (CIII)
He gave away the Panama canal, screwed over our allies in Taiwan, aided the Communist takeover of Venezuela, and wrecked education with a new federal agency.
A good friend of mine was a Navy fire control technician in the late ’70’s during that debacle of a rescue attempt in Iran. He tells that Jimmy was so scared of some military commander going into Iran and doing what needed to be done that they were forbidden to even take live ammunition out of the magazines, let alone have it anywhere near the weapons. What a POS. The fact that the Iranians freed the hostages as Reagan was being inaugurated was telling. He would have nuked that country flat and blacktopped it, and our Iranian problems would still be over to this day.
A failed peanut farmer, with a stereotypical redneck boob of a brother. Father of the ugliest First Daughter until Chelsea Clittin’ came along. Attacked by a rabbit while president, humiliated repeatedly on the world stage, and ultimately booed out of the office by his own party. Some people’s lives just serve as a warning to others.
Not really sure why, but I was going to try and remain gentlemanly about this announcement. With that in mind, I restrained myself when posting a comment last night. After sleeping on it, and with further reflection, I just want to say fuck Jimmy Carter. Others up thread have recounted his many failings and sins as president and beyond, so I don’t need to rehash those.
But suffice it to say, even with the cover now afforded him by the HNIC and joey kidsniffer habit. Far exceeded his screw ups, and building some houses with habitat for humanity, he was still a piece of shit who did enormous lasting damage to this country, whether through incompetence or malice. So I will not take the high road and give him a pass now that he’s a stiff.
Oh, one more big screw up that can be ascribed to him: the huge mess we now have with nuclear waste from power generation, since his executive order fucked up the possibility of reprocessing it and reducing it’s volume before final disposal and storage. As a result, we have hot pools of waste all over the country where nuclear power plants are located. Do not discount the security risk of this arrangement, as I fully expect it to bite us in the ass eventually.
The ONLY good thing he did was legalize homebrewing. I can brew 200 gallons of beer per adult in the household per year.
Other than that, third or fourth worst president.
Serious question: how do (or can) They keep track of how much you brew? Is there some agency keeping track of yeast sales or something? How does a limit even work?
As to Jimmy Carter, he was overall ineffectual at best, to be nice about it. But I felt that he was more than a bit of a sanctimonious hypocrite. I seem to recall that Gordon Liddy was asked if he was grateful that Carter commuted his sentence. Liddy replied, “A President needs brains, brawn, and balls. Carter has none of the three.” The brains part might be unfair since the man was a nuke officer, but spot on about the balls and brawn.
All they need is a snitch. Be careful who you “give” your product to. Most I had going at one time was five batches (5 gallons each). Christmas and new years. Lot of work and space. But I make a damn fine porter.
Man, you’re going to have a mess of people trying to be your friend when the grid goes down. Haha.
A quote from here https://autonomoustruckers.substack.com/p/truckers-tikka-masala?utm_campaign=posts-open-in-app&triedRedirect=true that could apply to Americans as well…
Canadians, unfortunately, are emasculated and powerless in the face of the forces which brought him here in the first place, and are unable to deport or depose those forces.
I go back to Ike & the late 1950’s. Yes, Carter was inept. All of them were essentially fuck-ups, after JFK was abruptly retired from politics forever. In that regard, it was LBJ who I consider worst. He ended up getting 58,000 Americans killed for no good reason & presided over what I call the clusterfuck years 1964-1968. It’s the era America, now aka FUSA strarted going down the crapper. De-industrialization began along with inflation. Nixon just continued on, eventually screwing himself over with the Watergate Affair back in 1972 & culminating in his resignation two years later. That’s enough, too damn depressing for a guy in his 70’s.
I have to put Wilson as number one worst president.
You could be right. By the way, in 1918, my grandfather got a free trip to France courtesy of Wilson. It also included 8 months of trench warfare by the way.
Along with the hostage fiasco I remember his stern reaction to the Soviets invading Afghanistan was to boycott the Moscow Olympics. And then had Cooongress fund the fake and fat Liberty Games that a whopping 29 countries participated in.
I used to love the Olympics. Last one I watched was the 1992 summer games when the so-called “dream team” of one college player and the rest retarded, ingrate niggers shucked and jived for all the world to see.
Fuck Carter and fuck the Olympics.
We really ought to stop giving all these evil bastards a free pass by blaming their poor results/wicked outcomes on their incompetence. I would venture to say that the vast majority of the “mistakes” made by those in charge in the last fifty years is actually evil intent and evil actions seeking harmful outcomes hiding behind incompetence.
The more I’m told by the msm what a wonderful person he was, the more I doubt it. Years ago, someone who could have known, someone not given to spouting off or gossiping, told me he was a petty, bitter little man.
They have many, many times told me what a wonderful, selfless, empathetic man Joe Biden is too
The way the media is swooning over him, one would believe he walked on water.
He’d need to walk on water to escape the attacking bunny rabbits.
The real story will be told when he is lying in state in the Capitol. Pay attention to the flag on the casket.
