Back To Lake City: You Can See Where This Is Going

A few weeks ago, rumors were swirling that the massive Lake City Ammunition Plant in Independence, Missouri had been ordered to cancel orders for the civilian marketplace. Mrgunsngear was one of those who talked about it but as is typical he was careful about his reporting:

According to Lake City the rumors were false. Fair enough, that sort of thing happens all the time in our social media age. But then I saw a news story this morning, picked up by my daily Google alert for news stories with the phrase “mass shooting” and when I scanned the email I saw a story about Lake City being carried in the New York Times.

As a reminder, the New York Times is an official propaganda organ of the globalists. Stories that are run in the NYT have the blessing of Them and always are carrying an approved message aimed at the mandarin class and the elites in our society. They usually are telegraphing what They are planning to do. Here is the title of the story:

Army Ammunition Plant Is Tied to Mass Shootings Across the U.S.

The initials stand for the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. Built during World War II, the federal site, in Independence, Mo., has made nearly all the rifle cartridges used by the U.S. military since it pulled out of Vietnam.

In recent years, the factory has also pumped billions of rounds of military-grade ammunition into the commercial market, an investigation by The New York Times found, leaving the “LC” signature scattered across crime scenes, including the sites of some of the nation’s most heinous mass shootings.

The plant, operated by a private contractor with Army oversight, is now one of the country’s biggest manufacturers of commercial rounds for the popular AR-15, and it remains so even as the United States supplies ammunition to Ukraine.

The story also includes ridiculous graphics like this:

Wow, who could have imagined that ammunition produced in one of the largest producers of ammunition would occasionally find it’s way into mass shootings? No investigation of where the 9mm and .40 ammo used by the scholar-Americans in the vast majority of mass shootings came from. The story tries to make it sound like Lake City is the ammo of choice for “mass shooters” but read this carefully (emphasis mine)….

Starting in 2012 with the massacre of 12 people at a movie theater in Aurora, Colo., the rounds have been tied to at least a dozen mass shootings involving AR-15-style guns, including at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, a FedEx warehouse in Indianapolis — and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. The authorities in Lewiston, Maine, declined to release ballistic information about the mass shooting there last month that resulted in 18 deaths.

Starting in 2012….that is 11 years ago….at least a dozen mass shootings…or just a little over once a year. Wow, talk about your smoking gun (pun intended)! The story attempts to make it seem like Lake City producing for the civilian marketplace is some carefully guarded secret…

Secrecy around the arrangement has helped to hide its scale, and the Army has played down the plant’s role in manufacturing ammunition for civilians. A recent media tour of Lake City focused on its military operations and economic benefits to the region, but did not include access to the building where most commercial rounds are made.

Behind closed doors, the possibility of Lake City ammunition’s appearing in high-profile crimes was a source of continuing concern for the plant’s contractors, according to four former employees who were not authorized to speak publicly. After mass shootings, in particular, managers were “terrified” that journalists might discover a connection to the site, one of the former employees said.

The old “anonymous sources” not authorized to speak. That is pretty convenient as no one knows if they even exist. The bigger question: does anyone who is familiar with shooting and especially AR-15s not know that Lake City makes ammo for civilians as well as the military?

The story is chock full of paragraphs like this….

As the plant’s commercial operations took off, some of its products had already found their way into the criminal underworld. In 2009, F.B.I. agents disrupted a plot by homegrown jihadists in North Carolina to attack the Quantico Marine Corps Base. A search of one of their homes uncovered an empty Lake City ammunition box.

Holy shit, an empty box of ammo 14 years ago! That is damning indeed! To read the story you would come away thinking that Lake City 5.56mm is uniquely lethal. Sure it is well made but for the average shooter is it noticeably different from the rest of the 5.56mm on the market?

You can imagine where this is heading. With the Army moving away from the 5.56mm in favor of that goofy new 6.8mm cartridge for the Sig Sauer XM5/XM250 (see: Curious Decisions Are Curious), the dot mil demand for 5.56mm will start to dry up. It certainly seems as if They are setting the stage to dissolve the Lake City facility, perhaps selling it to a private concern but perhaps just shuttering it or even switching it over to manufacture 6.8mm. Whatever happens, I expect it will make AR ammo less affordable and less available. This is by design.

I have long been saying that the gun control cabal will continue to try to find ways to make owning and operating firearms prohibitively difficult and expensive while at the same time working toward an outright ban and confiscation that will be much harder. Cutting off the supply of ammo is one way to accomplish that, and doing so in bits and pieces might take longer but it still works.

Budget accordingly.

At near $750 a case now all in, for 5.56 green tip, yep your budget should have allowed for that case under $300 all in, years ago.

    It only gets better🌈🤡🌏=🔥+😹

Its a 🏴‍☠️ life for me savy

Indeed Bobs, I’m still stacking 5.56 when the deals are out there. Wish Academy was still selling Tula 7.62, but looks like they’re all out after the Ruskie embargo. Palmetto has it at $.60 per. Not much of a deal, but I might spend a few shekels and get some.

Anyone know of good online deals for 7.62 x 39 out there?

Did you know that over 95% of mass shooters in the US have indoor plumbing? And the majority of rapists drank milk as a child?

Clearly indoor plumbing dangerous. Crap in a bucket instead. Why won’t you think of the children? Milk causes rape. Ban milk now!

Very strange news story. Is it possible that the secret they are not talking about is that there might also be one customer (or account) that is buying the ammo for these high profile mass shootings? you know, as in, False Flag Mass Shootings R Us? Might be the same black budget government account that pays for the crisis actors. Just speculating.
