Couple crashes car into restaurant during argument, police say
The Memphis Police Department has arrested and charged a couple accused of crashing into a restaurant and causing thousands of dollars in damage.
On May 26, officers responded to an aggravated assault call at the Mariscos El Gallo Giro restaurant on Lamar Avenue.
When officers arrived, they spoke with a witness who informed them that she noticed a burgundy vehicle driving erratically in the parking lot.
According to the affidavit, when the witness yelled for the car to slow down, the driver accelerated towards her and crashed into the building.
Officers say that there was $15,000 worth of damage done to the building; two women, Anitria Harris and Alycia Upshaw, were both identified as suspects.
MPD later learned that the two suspects were a couple, and they were having an argument prior to crashing into the building.
Well you just know from a) the events, b) the names and c) being in Memphis what we are in for…

Saw a video yesterday where a coon got in a fight in a McDonald’s (big surprise) and when he was chased outside hopped in a tow truck and drove into the building before running off.

The driver in that case was white I believe, but he had a legit excuse: he had a seizure and lost control. There’s a kind of funny (security) video of it from inside the restaurant.
That happens a lot, especially to old people. The grocery store my mom went to when I was growing up had an old guy run right through the giant window in front, he hit the gas instead of the break and then panicked and kept hitting it. It was kinda sad.
