Someone shared this video on social media, I don’t remember where, and it looks at life in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1968….
I am sure not everything was perfect because people aren’t perfect but damn that looks pretty incredible compared to now. Why was it such a beautiful place in 1968? Let’s look at the demographics of Minnesota…..
When this video was filmed, Minnesota was as close to completely White as you were likely to find. From the time Minnesota became a state in 1858 to as recently as 1990, the state was over 90% White. From 1970 right after this video was filmed to 2020, the percentage of Whites in Minnesota dropped over 20%. It is not surprisingly far worse in Minneapolis proper….
Minneapolis is barely majority White today and probably if the numbers were accurate Whites are not even in the majority of residents of Minneapolis.

Was there crime in Minneapolis in 1968? I am sure there was. Was it anywhere close to the level of what we have seen in Minneapolis and every other major city in America? Of course it was not. Notice that chart doesn’t differentiate actual Whites from mestizos, Middle Easterners and the others lumped in as “White”. Of the 253 homicides where the offender race is known, 193 were black and 17 either Indians or Asians. If Minneapolis were 98% White again, homicides in Minneapolis would likely drop by something like 83% and probably more when you count mestizos and even more so when you assume that most of the 39 unknown killers are almost certainly black.

Some “people” looked at an America that was high trust, prosperous and mostly happy because it was overwhelmingly White and decided to destroy it. The possible reasons are many but in my opinion those that orchestrated the destruction of America did so because happy, prosperous, ethnically homogeneous people living in a high trust society are unlikely to embrace the sort of revolution They needed to take control.
I sometimes envy younger people. They didn’t get to experience how amazing America was before the Great Replacement began to be felt in earnest. They didn’t know what it was like to go to the mall and have it be the exciting place to be, where crowds of White kids shopped, flirted and hung out. Just wanted to note that the most severe period of collapse occurred under the leadership of boomers and boomer adjacents. The 26th Amendment, which nationally lowered the age for exercise of the franchise to 18, went into effect July 1, 1971. But I was born in October 1952 (fun fact, Truman was still the President), and only by a few months was I enfranchised, and there were many “boomers” not even close to the franchise, let alone access to the levers of societal power. For example, just because you were 18, you were not of age to hold office.
Yes, there was much with which to hold fault in subsequent years in the conduct of “boomers”, but blanket accusations because young, substantially powerless, and sedulously propagandized young voters didn’t implausibly seize the wheel of the ship of state and correct its course are absurd. My father never accrued any wealth. He paid for and raised 5 children. Me and my sibling’s upbringing was very different than most children. Today it would be considered child abuse. We would get a smack across the head or kick in the ass. I’m none the worse for the wear.
He put the three older children thru school, and they did alright. Actually my oldest brother did it by himself(enlisted Army, then college, then OCS, then commission) Me and my younger brother had to fend for ourselves. Still did alright though.
My father was a conservative not republican. He believed in voting out every incumbent every time. He believed all politicians are crooks.
He believed MLK would ruin this country. He was obviously correct. My father was a race realist, race realist. I remember as a kid him telling me (after I split a niglet’s tooth in half) “leave the niggers to me”. Never got in trouble for it. We did move to Whiter pastures though. Had to, the whole place turned black as coal in less than a year.
What I’m saying is not every “boomer” is the same. Some aren’t wealthy. Some don’t have generational wealth. Some have had to work their asses off to get where they are today. And yes, they will do anything they can to help their children have a better life.

Things have been going down hill for decades. Not all of it can be blamed on Boomers, of course, but our government is still being run by boomers. Boomers just won’t let go. Heck, the Stones and AD/DC are still touring! Boomers never passed anything on to Gen X. Gen X was essentially just skipped over, and the millennials or z’s will take over from the boomers when they die. Personally, I think the two worst things about the boomers is how they scoff at the struggles of the younger generations, and how they viciously react to any criticism of their own generation. Compared to today, the boomers grew up in a fucking paradise, but they’ll never admit it. But they did not cause all the problems we have today. Much of that came from the generations before them.
There is no doubt that there has been and continues to be a powerful force that is doing everything possible to bring down our country and there is no sector of public or private life that is untouched.

Once upon a time people had class and dignity. After the boomers’ ascendancy in the 60s-70s-80s, we lost a lot of that. And the generations after the boomers were raised in this milieu and have no idea what they lost. Now millennials and Gen Z think it’s completely normative to have ugly, visible tattoos (for example).
Not to mention that something like 30% of white children in America are born out of wedlock – unfathomable 50 years ago. And we shrug it off like it’s normal. My wife and I have been married once, and for 42 years so far. We homeschooled our only child and both of us have been running our own businesses since 1986. Since 2004 I have not paid any income tax nor will I ever again, and neither of us has ever voted for criminal politicians.
