People Are Not Interchangeable Economic Units

To hear some people speak, primarily libertarian types, people are just generic units of production like Zerg drones in Starcraft.

Sure some drones are engaged in gathering vespene gas and others are gathering minerals while still others are building structures but it doesn’t really matter because you can reassign those units to do something else interchangeably.

That came to mind when I saw this tweet from Nick Gillespie.

I miss the Zman who would usually sound a clown horn whenever he mentioned Reason Magazine.

Nick is attempting to argue the Magic Dirt theory. When immigrants, regardless of their ethnic or racial background, come to America and become “citizens”, our Magic Dirt performs an ethnic version of transubstantiation, making from a pajeet or Somali an American as authentic as a direct ancestor from the Mayflower.

His tweet is just silly in a lot of ways. Mexicans are quite literally turning majority mestizo areas into the same sort of societies they left, with many inner cities featuring favela-like barrios. Jews by and large have never assimilated into America society. Indians and Chinese create ethnic ghettos of their own. Even back in the last century many cities were divided up into ethnic enclaves with ethnic European stores serving the various groups.

Muslims? They were running their own uniformed “neighborhood watch” group in New York City in 2019, see: Encroaching Ethnic Balkanization, driving what looks suspiciously like NYPD patrol cars.

In Dearbornistan, Michigan the Muslim mayor tells Whites and Christians they aren’t welcome and to pound sand about the call to prayer at all hours. Texas has seen a flood of Muslims with a reported 48 new mosques opened in Texas in the last two years…

Also in Texas (Muslims sure like the desert, maybe it reminds them of home and the goats they left behind) there are plans for a gigantic Muslim city called the East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC) City project: Gigantic Muslim ‘Planned Community’ Meets Resistance From Texas AG

Amy “Mek” Mekelburg — an activist and founder and editor-in-chief of RAIR Foundation USA — argues that EPIC City will become a “sharia-controlled enclave.”

She says she has tracked the project since its inception and highlighted a promotional EPIC City video on X in which Muslim leaders describe the community as the “epicenter of Islam in America.” According to Mekelburg, her pinned post of that video drew over 7 million views before X removed it. She points to EPIC’s 76,000-square-foot Islamic complex — “one of the largest in Texas” — as evidence of growing influence and calls EPIC City “a massive, sharia-adherent residential and commercial enclave … a deliberate blueprint for a self-contained Islamic community, built around sharia principles and insulated from public oversight.”

It sure seems like Muslims are trying very hard recreate the Muslim societies they fled from. When some White people did something similar in Arkansas at Return To The Land, a much smaller project, it was met with screeches and teeth-gnashing from The Usual Suspects but they seem silent about a giant Muslim city being planned for Texas.

In am sure it is just a cohencidence that Nick didn’t mention Muslims in his asinine tweet….also I know it is juvenile but every time I say “Nick” in my head as I am writing this I am reminded of the character of Nick The Dick from Bachelor Party…

Not only is his tweet factually inaccurate, it spits in the face of every shred of reality.

My mother was Irish and came from a family that arrived here in the 19th century. She was a voracious reader, a woman who used impeccable grammar and raised her children to respect the English language and instilled in us a love of reading.

My father is Polish, also from 19th century immigrant stock. He practiced as a physician for many years after putting himself through medical school.

To suggest that you could swap them out for people from Somalia or Bangladesh is ridiculous. Many Somalians on Twitter brag about Somalia having a 2,000 year history but as they are endlessly ratio’d in reply, in 2,000 years they have not managed to rise above savage tribalism, living in a Stone Age civilization that is propped up by naive White people.

I cannot believe that Nick Gillespie believes this. No one with a shred of sanity and cognitive ability could look at a borderline drooling Somali and think it is the same as a Norwegian. More broadly speaking, no one could look at Norway and then look at Somalia and not realize that these nations are as different as night and day, and the driving factor is race. Why would he tweet something so patently false and more than a little stupid?

Put simply it is an article of faith of modern libertarianism that open borders are a critical issue for “liberty”. I wrote about it here: Open Border Libertarianism Is Self-Defeating. In that post I wrote:

Black and Hispanic politicians and pundits don’t talk about liberty, they talk about equality and justice. They are overwhelmingly pro-regulation, pro-gun control, pro-speech regulation, pro-income redistribution. They bang on about Medicare for everyone which is a way to get universal “health care” without calling it that. They push for the mythical “living wage” of $15, which will turn into a mandatory “living wage” of $20 and so on. They think that everyone should get a “free” college education (to which I reply, if you think college is expensive now, just wait until it is free).

In short, open borders is a sure fire recipe to make sure that libertarian ideas never progress beyond memes and hearty discussions over a couple of craft beers. Perhaps you can dismiss this as crass pragmatism but it is simply the truth. Current immigrants are disinterested in libertarian ideas. There is no reason to believe that future immigrants will be any different. If you are a libertarian and your goal is to live in a libertarian society, then pushing for open borders is perhaps the worst thing you can do. Just because you can make a flowery argument based on a perfect world scenario doesn’t translate to that policy having the intended effect in the real world.

Liberty isn’t even a concept that non-Whites understand or talk about. If you want the opposite of libertarianism, you push for open borders. Simple as that.

Consider this.

The United States had it’s origins as a colony of England. For the first hundred years or so it was populated largely by people of English ancestry, although there were of course people of German, French and other European ancestry living here. In the middle of the 19th century the U.S. saw more immigrants from places like Germany and Ireland, estimated at well over a million in the wake of the Irish Potato Famine.

This influx of non-English immigrants, many of whom were Catholic, resulted in a major shift in America’s demographics.

In 1892 Ellis Island opened and many Europeans from East and Southern Europe arrived, groups like the Italians and Poles. They were also largely Roman Catholic. Still it wouldn’t be until 1960, almost 200 years after the founding of the United States, that we would elect our first Roman Catholic President in John F. Kennedy and his Catholicism was a major issue in the election.

These new immigrants were White, Christian, European and still they were different enough to cause issues in assimilation. As a result, just 25 years after the opening of Ellis Island we passed the Immigration Act of 1917 that banned illiterate people over 16 from Europe as well as migrants from most of Asia, not to mention:

…alcoholics, anarchists, contract laborers, criminals, convicts, epileptics, “feebleminded persons”, “idiots”, “illiterates”, “imbeciles”, “insane persons”, “paupers”, “persons afflicted with contagious disease”, “persons being mentally or physically defective”, “persons with constitutional psychopathic inferiority”, “political radicals”, polygamists, prostitutes, and vagrants.

Those provisions would keep most of the Ilhan Omar types out. This act was followed by the Immigration Act of 1924, aka “the Johnson-Reed Act or National Origins Act”. This act created a quota system for immigrants that was skewed heavily in favor of immigrants from Western Europe.

This lasted until the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, aka the Hart-Celler Act, that threw open the floodgates of third world immigration.

My point is that for most of U.S. history we were constantly trying to constrain the flood of immigrants and favor immigrants from places like England and Germany and especially to restrict non-White immigrants.

Integrating these different European groups into America was still a major headache in my early lifetime. It caused some serious ill will in my parent’s families that a Polish guy married an Irish girl. They were both from White, Catholic, European families and still it was an issue. Ethnic tensions among European groups were starting to fade when I was a kid in the 70s but it took that long for America to really fully integrate people who were White, European and Christian into a country that was already White, European and culturally Christian.

If it took the better part of a century to integrate people of the same race and of the same basic religion (and yes I am deeply familiar with the Protestant/Catholic split, theologically and politically), how then are we supposed to integrate people that are:

• Of different races than heritage Americans
• Of significantly lower intelligence
• Of different religions entirely
• Of incompatible cultures
• And of course that have no interest in integrating and assimilating into America?

The answer is that it will never happen. What is happening instead is that America is slowly being turned into a bastardized version of all of these third world shitholes blended together.

Despite what Nick might say on Twitter, it simply isn’t true that a Swede is a Bantu is a Pakistani is a mestizo. Swapping one kind of people for a different kind leads to very different results, just as replacing the American Indians with Europeans turned America into a prosperous and modern society, and just as replacing European descended Whites with Somalis and Afghans is devolving America back to a primitive, savage, subsistence society.

Of course the cool thing for Nick is that he knows that libertarianism will never advance past an online cult where people can jabber about topics and prescribe “solutions” that will never be tried.

When Whites are gone, or at least reduced to a level where we can’t keep the lights on, the West and civilization will be gone as well. When we exit stage left we will take with us liberty as a concept, much less as a practice. Nick Gillespie must know this and if he doesn’t then he is too stupid to work for a magazine risibly named Reason.
