Some of you have been mentioning Big Country Expat’s absence. I corresponded briefly with him this evening and he is alive and kickin’. Some stuff and some illness conspiring to keep him from the keyboard but he ought to be back in the next few days.

Thanks for checking in with him and letting us know. Mike over at Cold Fury had also given a brief update yesterday evening. I’m just glad to hear he’s ok, and not hospitalized, in jail (on account of some divorce drama/swatting BS), or worse.
Many of us were getting concerned. Not surprised about the illness, it kicked my ass and I have two working lungs, not just one. Mike at Cold Fury is the real hero of this little story along with Jen, who asked Mike to check his status. Now we also have confirmation from J3 and you. We are all relieved that something horrible didn’t happen. BC is our brother and we care.

For sure. I think a few people found my level of concern unnecessary. Even caught some smart ass remarks over my making an issue of Big’s absence (“what are you, his mother?”). No, I’m just a guy who knows how quick shit can go downhill for a dude over 50 with pre-existing medical complications. Have witnessed it personally.
And on the personal side of things, he still has the possibility of issues with soon to be ex and her family, plus he is a fairly well known figure in the online dissident community, so I never discount the possibility he could be targeted with a take out order (as could any of the more outspoken among us). In light of recent events, that becomes an even greater cause for concern. As Art said, we need to look out for each other.
