Some of you have been mentioning Big Country Expat’s absence. I corresponded briefly with him this evening and he is alive and kickin’. Some stuff and some illness conspiring to keep him from the keyboard but he ought to be back in the next few days.

Thanks for checking in with him and letting us know. Mike over at Cold Fury had also given a brief update yesterday evening. I’m just glad to hear he’s ok, and not hospitalized, in jail (on account of some divorce drama/swatting BS), or worse.
Many of us were getting concerned. Not surprised about the illness, it kicked my ass and I have two working lungs, not just one. Mike at Cold Fury is the real hero of this little story along with Jen, who asked Mike to check his status. Now we also have confirmation from J3 and you. We are all relieved that something horrible didn’t happen. BC is our brother and we care.

For sure. I think a few people found my level of concern unnecessary. Even caught some smart ass remarks over my making an issue of Big’s absence (“what are you, his mother?”). No, I’m just a guy who knows how quick shit can go downhill for a dude over 50 with pre-existing medical complications. Have witnessed it personally.
And on the personal side of things, he still has the possibility of issues with soon to be ex and her family, plus he is a fairly well known figure in the online dissident community, so I never discount the possibility he could be targeted with a take out order (as could any of the more outspoken among us). In light of recent events, that becomes an even greater cause for concern. As Art said, we need to look out for each other.

Besides his health issues his Ex already tried to have him swatted so hopefully he’s being REALLY careful when dealing with her.
My Ex wife can appear sweet and nice when she wants something but I’d trust a king cobra reading to strike before I’d trust her.
I was slower to become alarmed but I never ragged on you for your concern, BRD. It’s been so long since the omg she’s such a bitch thread that I’ve shoved some of the dog abuse, swatting, etc. down the memory hole. Some of you guys are recalling things better than I am. And the Lord is infallable, I’m damn sure not.

Now it’s unlikely you’ll (we’ll) ever have physical interactions with the majority of co-commenters, but in real world, that sort of info is invaluable. I used to get annoyed when someone pulled shit like that IRL, but these days I tend to view it as low cost insight into their character and likely behavior. (Don’t get me wrong, still annoyed. But useful stuff comes from it too.)

We wondered, and a few days later I’m in the waiting room of the Brigham and Womens Hospital cardiac ICU talking to his brother and father about his horrible prognosis. Two days later WM was dead. Life is pretty damn fragile.

Thanks for the update, Art. Like BRD pointed out, there are a number of writers and talkers on the dissident right who I follow regularly. Should those voices go quiet or blogs go dark for an extended period of time, especially if it’s two or three of them, that will trigger different protocol than life going on as normal. At this point in the story, we really do have to keep an eye out for each other.
Ahhh. Saint Algore’s interwebz are a splendiferous thing. Stumbled across very cheap resources for teaching our invader’s children how to infiltrate us. Dr. Suess type books with English/Spanish pages, cheap dictionaries, cheap audio disks. Everything to teach the little bastardos and putas how to take over our country.
I feel that it is only poetic justice for me to use these same tools to learn their babbling and infiltrate them in turn. It’s like finding a full auto M4 in an unlocked fed car trunk with no one around.

So I made a snide joke about BRD getting his apron tied in knots about Billy’s absence and I apparently hurt his feefees in so doing. And you think that teaches you something about me? Whatever. Blow me. I’d be first in line to tell you what an asshole I am. Not exactly a mystery there, chief.
Shit, Wyomarine cracks wise about Billy’s diet or some other guy quips about his kitchen and you guys are on them faster than Spider-Man on crystal meth. Some of you folks really need to chill the fuck out.
Jesus. Despite your guys’ concern, you people must think very little of Billy and his own faculties if your automatic ‘go-to’ response to him not sending out a blogpost every day, like clockwork, as “OMG something’s happened to him” or “mAyBe ThE fEdS gOt HiM”. It’s like it never occurred to anyone that maybe he just decided he needed a break and decided to go walkabout to clear his head. Because whether or not any of you realize it, all this doom porn we focus on day in and day out can be pretty toxic and WILL wear you out if you aren’t careful about it. Having run a (crappy) blog focusing on this shit myself at one point, I can fully attest to this. Add that the personal problems Billy has shared with us that many of you are well aware of and acknowledge (including being apparently sick) and maybe going ‘AFK’ is precisely what he needed. What’s more, if that is the case, he doesn’t owe ANY of us an explanation. After all, we go to HIS blog. He doesn’t put a gun to our heads.
Lastly, he has open comm lines with many people who frequent his blog – myself included. If he REALLY had a problem, do any of you really believe he’d be shy about sounding off for help to *at least* somebody? It isn’t like he hasn’t reached out and asked for help in the past when he needed it.
Honestly some of you people should really have more faith in the man. Maybe relax and go touch grass some more too.
Oh for fucks sake. No hurt feelings on my part, just questioning why anyone should get feel a need to get snarky over my expressing legit concern for the well being of a fellow traveler we have come to know and enjoy reading. He’d posted he had a bad flu, stating he’d be back in the saddle the next day, and then instead disappeared for days with no follow up. I figured he may well have ended up in the hospital.
As for calling me out, there are no shits given. My ass has been hardened by far more biting criticism and difficult life experience than that, so don’t go thinking you made me go crying for my mama. I’ll continue to do (and post) what I want, with no consideration given for remarks that are just trying to stir the pot. I don’t underestimate Billy’s abilities and skill set. I’ve been reading him long enough to know what he can do, as long as he isn’t laid up somewhere. The other more outlandish possibilities were raised, but obviously less likely. Clearly I wasn’t the only person giving them consideration. It’s stupid I even have to say any of this, but there it is. I don’t even have any beef with you, honest.
