Although I wouldn’t live in a deep blue state like Massachusetts or New Jersey for any amount of money, having worked in Massachusetts for a year while living in New Hampshire before fleeing back to the Midwest, there are still plenty of problems with living in deep red states.
One of the biggest issues is that when the general election is just a formality and whoever wins the Republican primary for statewide office is going to be elected in a lay-up, you often end up with terrible candidates on the general election ballot because most people don’t pay attention to the primary. That is how Indiana ended up with a “Republican” Superintendent of Public Education named Jennifer McCormick who was clearly a Democrat (see: More From Jennifer McCormick) and she ended up running for Governor of the Hoosier state last year as a Democrat after dropping the pretense of being a Republican so she could get elected in Indiana.
Our two Republican Senators are Todd Young, who is awful on most issues, and Jim Banks, he used to be my Congressman and is the epitome of an empty suit. My current Congressman, Marlin Stutzman, used to hold that office before deciding not to run for re-election and being replaced by Banks before coming back when Banks ran for the Senate. In a little over a year and a half since the “October 7th” attack by Hamas on Israel, an attack that Israel definitely didn’t know was coming and most definitely didn’t order their forces to stand down, and certainly didn’t open fire on their own citizens, the grifters in what we call “conservatism” have been at a fever pitch and it has gotten exponentially worse. While there are millions of us on /ourside/ and those numbers are growing, we are in the political wilderness. I will be sitting out the midterms next year as I did the last midterm election and I see no one on the bench that will be better than the Orange Man. J.D. Vance? That guy has a sketchy background and is beholden to patrons like Peter Thiel and of course he has already gone to Jerusalem to grovel and get his little kosher stamp of approval as a good goy.
As we have no political power and never will short of rebuilding after the inevitable collapse, it makes no sense to have a “big tent” to create a viable coalition. While we continue to build our ranks, we must also exercise caution. You don’t have to be completely onboard with the JQ but a rabid Zionist isn’t an ally of any sort. Can homosexuals be part of our club? Maybe but I still view Greg Johnson of Counter-Currents with suspicion. If you are a man that has sex with men, your judgment is clearly suspect.
It really gets back to what we talk about so often: local, local, local. Make contacts locally and be ready to help each other out. I too struggle with this dilemma. I live in small but affluent town in SC filled normies who only want to live their affluent normy lifestyle.
