Last year at around this time, especially here in Indiana, there was a lot of chatter about something that previously no one talked about except as a joke: the WNBA. Yep, the women’s “professional” basketball league that has been around since 1996 (!) and was just a punchline suddenly was the talk of the town. It wasn’t that sports fans suddenly realized that the WNBA was top quality basketball that they had just missed over the years. There was one and only one reason that people were watching: a White girl from the Iowa Hawkeyes named Caitlin Clark who was the best player in women’s college basketball and who would become the first selection in the 2024 WNBA draft to great fanfare, the first time since the inception of the league that anyone even knew they were holding a draft. As she was drafted by the Indiana Fever, she was quite the celebrity in the Hoosier state.
Not only is she a great women’s player, holding the scoring record for women’s NCAA basketball, but she is also reasonably bright as a multiple Academic All-American and graduated with a 3.64 GPA. She is also a Catholic and has been dating a White guy named Connor McCaffery who also played basketball at Iowa. She comes from a family of athletes and as a marketing major she made the most of her popularity in college, reportedly earning $3.4 million in the “name, image, likeness” (NIL) money and already has a number of endorsements: “Companies that signed Clark to NIL deals included Nike, Gatorade, Hy-Vee, Bose, Buick, Goldman Sachs, H&R Block, Shoot-A-Way, and Topps. In 2023, she became the first college athlete to be a spokesperson for State Farm, appearing in national television commercials for the company”.
Throughout the 2024 WNBA season attendance at games and TV viewership skyrocketed. In cities where the Fever was playing tickets sold out as “fans” rushed to see Clark. People were talking about the Indiana Fever on Indiana social media sites. The rivalry between Clark and the ghetto trash Angel Reese that began in college when Reese’s LSU team beat Clark’s Iowa team for the women’s NCAA championship during which Reese continually taunted Clark continued into their rookie seasons with people actually having heated debates about who was the better rookie. Clark ended up winning the Rookie of the Year award almost unanimously with a single anonymous vote for Angel Reese.
It was like a marketing dream come true for the WNBA that has languished in obscurity for decades, humiliatingly propped up by subsidies from the NBA. You had a heterosexual smart White girl in Caitlin Clark, an anomaly in a league full of sullen, homely black women (but I repeat myself) and unpleasant dykes (again I repeat myself). Clark isn’t much to look at either, with harshly angular features, but compared to most WNBA players she is a supermodel. Her rival was straight out of central casting, a thuggish and nasty ghetto trash black girl. While Clark’s relationship with her clean cut boyfriend is well publicized, Reese doesn’t seem to be attached having formerly dated some 2G named Cam’Ron Fletcher but now is on her own, and just a quick search of the two couple shows a major contrast:

Clark’s parents are professionals and married, while Reese is described as having been raised by her mom and is “not close” with her father. Ya don’t say?
This could be 1980s WWF level rivalry, with the ghetto villain and the wholesome White girl. That is like a license to print money in a league that loses millions every year and only stays in business because of NBA cash. After all, all sports is just entertainment and if people are entertained they will watch and spend money. Heaven knows they aren’t entertained by the crap level of play so last year the league really benefitted from Clark and part of that is her rivalry with Reese.
What is happening instead is that everyone but Angel Reese is running away from the rivalry because it brings up “uncomfortable” issues about race. Well duh. The whole thing is about race. Clark was incredibly popular in the league and the face of the WNBA for people who had never watched before. She was also clearly mugged on multiple occasions by black players, not a hard foul but borderline assault, because black players resent a White girl stepping into “their” league and instantly becoming the most popular player.
This year just a few weeks before the start of the season, there is no hype around the WNBA. It is quickly turning back into a punchline for comedians, helped by Angel Reese demanding LeBron James level pay:
“Like, cuz you’re doing exactly what LeBron is doing… so what’s the difference?” she asked, referencing how both she and LeBron James draw fans, break narratives and drive cultural relevance.
Yet, their only difference is their paycheck, as Reese will make $74,909 with the Chicago Sky in 2025. Meanwhile, LeBron James is set to earn more than $50 million from his NBA salary alone…..
…..This isn’t the first time Angel Reese has raised eyebrows with her candidness. Earlier this year, she mentioned on the podcast that she’d heard some players might sit out if negotiations around the next WNBA collective bargaining agreement don’t meet expectations.
“I said, ‘I’m hearing if they don’t give us what we want, we sitting out,’ and that’s the truth,” she clarified later.

I won’t bother address how silly that is but instead of capitalizing on the popularity of Caitlin Clark, the league has allowed Reese to become the spokesperson for the league.
Meanwhile the women’s NCAA championship just ended last Sunday with UConn winning. They have been led all season by Paige Bueckers, who is likely to be the number one pick in the 2025 WNBA draft. You probably have never heard of Paige Bueckers and I hadn’t either but she is also a White girl and is mildly attractive, especially compared to Caitlin Clark and needless to say compared to the black/lesbian players of the WNBA.
So why has no one heard of her?
First, she is nowhere close to the talent of Caitlin Clark who is a once in a generation player, but also because she doesn’t seem to have a rival like Angel Reese, a villain to her heroine.
If Clark would lean into this even a little it would spark some lasting interest in the WNBA. Sure the basketball is awful but the rivalry would be cool. Instead, this is what Clark is up to.

“A lot of Black women that grew up making this league what it is. That’s kind of the shoulders that we stand on. So, I think that was something I’m very aware of and something I’m very thankful for. And they definitely deserve all the credit and the more we can give credit to them, the better. I’m very aware of that and I know that and I think there is responsibility in acknowledging that.”

She is popular and she is targeted for the same reason: she is White. If she has any “privelege” it comes from being tall and athletically gifted and being raised by engaged parents.
While I am not saying that Clark race cucking and groveling to the 2G lesbians of the WNBA is the reason no one is paying attention to the league this year, mostly it is because the novelty wore off, but it certainly isn’t helping. As with most athletes, the chicks in the WNBA don’t seem to understand that they are in the entertainment business. They are selling a product and very few fans (customers) are interested in being thrust into some silly race groveling debate. People gladly pay to watch the NBA because it is the highest quality of basketball available around but the WNBA is trying to sell a far inferior product mainly with surly black lesbians to basically the same audience.
It was amusing while it lasted but now the WNBA can go back to the outer darkness of sports.
You couldn’t pay me enough to watch lezbionic monkeyball, but I love the fact that a couple of White chicks are shaking things up. A real head-scratcher, though: Why isn’t the WNBA overrun with M-to-F trannies knocking the lesbos out with elbows and hip checks? Even the Olympics intend to go woke on gender fluidity for the 2028 games.
First off, that image of Reese is vulgar and should never be on a publication. And no dude would look at either player for a minute if they ran into them at WalMart.
I gave up on all sorts of sportsball when the players started striking. They are being paid millions to play a game that nearly all of them would play for free, or pay to join an amatuer league. Even the $74k whatzernuts is being payed is a fine paycheck for a few hours work a week, and not every week of the year.
The logic that they do the same thing so deserve the same pay is stupid. I’m sure if you compared salaries as a percentage of the total pot, they’d be similar.
Baseball, football, basketball-who cares? I lived through football’s Days of Heaven with Montana, Young, Rice, et al. I am forced to sometimes hear a game at work and…..they are nobodies. Why folks spend extra for the NFL,NBA, or any others is beyond stupid. Pete Rose was probably one of the greatest legends ever, yet the Karens of the press club had no trouble tearing into him like a pack of wolves. Done it a long time ago. Take a bike ride, read a book, throw a bar b cue and have friends over. Do something with your time but stop throwing this government funded BS up for your kids to worship.

Ms. Clark makes the ironic yet blatantly obvious statement to the effect that black girls made the wnba what it is-mediocre, unwatchable, a caricature, vile and reprehensible-a progressive clown show.

I was watching that today. Everyone there was white. Maybe a couple of dot Indian players, but the fans were 100% white. And at the Masters, like other big golf tournaments, the fans are very, very close to the players. Touching distance. Yet they are so quiet and well behaved. I try to picture how that would play out if those fans were all negros instead.

ALL of that sports stuff is unbelievably boring and it’s baffling that anyone can watch it.
That has been my lifelong take, and yet I was – and apparently still am – in the minority on that. It baffles me that shit as boring as golf, baseball or football can keep peoples attention for hours on end. Basketball is at least a fast paced game, but who wants to watch a bunch of ferals run up and down the court, even if it take some skill to sink the shots? And it’s all so repetitious, even the standout plays in major sports don’t add enough variety to capture my interest.
We need to bring back gladiators, and actual death matches. At least that has real stakes, and isn’t just a way for some filthy rich fuckers to stage “contests” whose principal purpose is to make them even more filthy rich, with what Marge Schott once called “million dollar niggers”.
