The Future Of Western Europe

A common pastime among many American nationalists is pointing out that the vaunted U.S. miliary with all of our whiz-bang high-tech gadgets is being exposed as a paper tiger. Sure we can beat up on goat humpers if they stay out in the open or drive down highways where we can butcher them from the air but our gizmos have proven to be far less dominant than we were led to believe, at least when used in Ukraine.

That shouldn’t surprise anyone. If DOGE has done anything, it has exposed the Federal government as a giant grift where schemers and scammers who know how to manipulate the system suck money from the productive people in America and the mandarin class takes a tithe of every dollar that passes from normal Americans to the grifters. The military might be the biggest and easiest place to skim money. Not since the Gipper was in office has anyone even uttered the idea that maybe we should cut back on military spending, not with the Soviets and then the Global War on Terror and now back to Russia plus an ascendant China. Funny how we always have a boogeyman to justify pouring more money into the military than the rest of the big nations combined. I don’t know the exact point that the military really changed from a mission of protecting the U.S. to a huge scheme but it certainly goes back to the end of World War II when rather than drawing down the military, we instead found ourselves in yet another bloody war just five years after the end of the Second World War. Between Korea and then Vietnam coupled with the Cold War and constant threat from the Soviets the U.S. has essentially been on a war footing for over 80 years straight.

My position is that since the military is likely to be used against the American people at some point in the future, the weaker the better. It isn’t like Russia is going to invade the U.S., nor China and if the ChiComs attack Taiwan that simply isn’t our fight, just as the Middle East squabbles between desert tribes that have been fighting for thousands of years is not our fight.

The geopolitical world order since the end of the Cold War has been centered on one unassailable fact: the United States military was by far the most powerful in the world and could crush any opponent. That was the glue that supposedly kept the world stable. Maybe that was true right after the Cold War ended but then again we haven’t faced any near-peer opponents and in unconventional warfare we regularly get our asses handed to us because we play by rules the other side ignores, like in Mogadishu and the Iraq insurgency.

In the years since the end of the Cold War, the military hasn’t shrunk. Quite the opposite, it is still enormous. I wonder what people at the end of the Second World War would have said if you told them the U.S. would still have 14 bases with 53,000 soldiers and sailors in Japan, 6 bases with 35,000 personnel in Germany and 7 bases with 12,000 mostly airmen in Italy 80 years after World War II ended: Mapping Every Known US Military Base Overseas

128 bases in 49 countries, many in places the average person couldn’t find on a map or even tell you on which continent it could be found.

The U.S. clearly is overstretched and the supposed mission of the military, defending America, has long been surpassed by the clichéd idea of being the world’s policeman. At the same time we have seen one boondoggle after another with “next generation” weapons systems going way over budget and then not working as advertised. As Ukraine winds down one of the main outcomes that will impact the future is that whoever was still afraid of the U.S. isn’t really that scared today. I don’t think Russia or China wants to tangle with us because even as depleted as we are, we still have an enormous military, but when you are a peer in terms of raw military strength and in the case of Russia with the world’s largest nuclear arsenal and China with a much smaller but still formidable nuclear triad, you are less likely to allow yourself to be bullied by the U.S.

As bad as things are in the U.S. though, they are way worse in Western Europe. When the U.S. was playing the big bad bully for the world, Western Europe was content to let us pay for the lion’s share of NATO while they pissed away their money on social programs. The once mighty military powers of Western Europe are a shadow of what they once were.

In World War II, nations like England, Germany, France and Italy were fighting war on a global scale with British forces fighting in the Pacific and North Africa and the Germans had managed to essentially control all of Western Europe minus the British Isles and were within spitting distance of Moscow. At one time Western Europe controlled most of the world outside of the U.S. as colonies.

That was then. Today?

The anger laced with panic in Western Europe is palpable as Trump and his proxy J.D. Vance have been telling Europeans to put on their big girl panties and start ponying up for their own defense. Trump is altering the terms of the deal with Europe and they don’t like it one little bit.

For the past few years, the “leaders” of Western Europe have in turn egged on the war in Ukraine, then sabotaged the peace deal that could have stopped it from happening in the first place and ever since Russia invaded have been shouting threats at Russia, promising an ass kicking. Any. Second. Now. Putin is lucky that the U.S. has been holding Europe back from kicking his ass.

With Trump pushing hard to end U.S. involvement one way or the other, suddenly W. Europe finds itself having to put up or shut up. They are yammering about a “reassurance” force being deployed to Ukraine but Russia isn’t having any part of that: European Military Chiefs Proposed Dubious Plan To Send 30,000 Troops To Ukraine.

Even if they somehow convince Russia to allow that, who exactly are they going to send?

UK Military ‘Too Run Down’ to Lead Peacekeeping Mission in Ukraine: Ex-Army Chief

The UK military is “too run down” to lead any potential peacekeeping missions in Ukraine, the former head of the British Army has claimed, citing persistent manpower and equipment shortages.

The accusation comes amid growing calls for the UK and France to spearhead a long-term peacekeeping effort in Ukraine, which would require deploying up to 100,000 troops.

Lord Dannatt, who served as chief of the British Army from 2006 to 2009, emphasized that such a mission would indeed require around 100,000 troops, with the UK expected to contribute a significant portion of that force.

“Our military is so run down at the present moment, numerically and as far as capability and equipment is concerned, it would potentially be quite embarrassing,” he told BBC News.

He explained, “If we were to deploy 10,000 troops each rotation for six months, that would effectively tie up 30,000 or 40,000 troops and we just haven’t got that number available.”

This isn’t the 1930s. There aren’t millions of young English men who will sign up for King and country. Why would they go fight and die in Ukraine in the service of a nation that has declared them to be superfluous and is trying to replace them? Elsewhere we read….

Twenty-thousand troops? We only have 25 main battle tanks working at best

Holy crap.

When news that the UK would be at the front of the queue to provide troops for a Ukraine peacekeeping force, possibly as many as 20,000, a contact from army headquarters at Andover messaged me: “Where’s this 20,000-figure come from? Who’s briefing this? We couldn’t do this in a month of Sundays!”

The next few days saw this “offer” drop to 10,000 to 12,000 troops for the as-yet-unspecified ground force – but the panic among army planners was much the same: there has been no requirement for such a deployment, the army is not set up for such numbers and has not been funded to do so.

And, worse, the army is at a nadir as regards its capability to provide robust, capable, war-fighting forces of the type that would be needed for Ukraine – equipment is either ancient, non-existent, yet-to-arrive; ammunition stocks would not last a week if push came to shove; and communications systems are old and flaky.

It might not go too far to suggest that the British army is at its lowest nadir since June 1940, after Operation Dynamo saw the British Expeditionary Force evacuated from Dunkirk.

Now, the main battle tank (MBT) force is at a disastrous low. The Challenger 2 fleet (just over 400 were bought in the 1990s) has a notional strength of 213 tanks, after 14 were donated to Ukraine. However, these have been at the receiving end of “malign neglect” – maintenance regimes slashed in the 2000s and 2010s, spares not purchased, and supply chains disappearing as companies went bust. In 2023, it was reported that only around 160 of the fleet was in any fit state to be used on operations (after extensive, expensive work) – and the situation got worse.

This was the kicker: “When Denmark and Sweden have more credible tank forces than the United Kingdom, you know there’s an issue”. What equipment the Brits did possess was gutted when jolly old England sent 14 main battle tanks and 32 AS90 self-propelled artillery to Ukraine. Not only is the UK not prepared to man an occupation peacekeeping force, if they were forced to fight they don’t have the manpower or equipment to slug it out with a seasoned Russian army and they would run out of ammo and supplies in a matter of weeks.

Well that is all well and good one might say but England has always been a naval power. “Rule, Britannia! rule the waves” and all that! Well…..

IN THE SHIP! Shrunken Royal Navy has more admirals than warships, official documents reveal

Official documents reveal there are 34 senior fleet commanders but, after years of cuts, the number of operations vessels with offensive capability is down to 19.

That was in 2019, I doubt this is any better today. Why bother fielding a navy at great expense when America will do it for you?

The U.K. is supposed to be the best in show of Western Europe’s military and it couldn’t fight a real war for any length of time. I assume the other major European powers like Germany and France are likewise completely hollowed out militarily. That doesn’t even take into account what I mentioned earlier. Why would young German, French or English men sign up to fight Russia on behalf of nations that hate them? The rise of the AfD has terrified globalists and honestly the AfD is pretty tepid and not at all “far-right”. It will be interesting to see how the elections in Germany shake out today and if the Powers That Be simply reject the AfD votes. My opinion is that AfD is the moderate voice and if they are pushed aside, what comes next might remind people of what happened last century.

Where does this leave Western Europe? They are making big talk and promises about Russia but absolutely lack any ability to tangle with them. Their militaries are gutted, their people demoralized and no one is going to sign up to be blown up in a trench in Ukraine by a Russian drone. What I fear is what I think will happen in the U.S. will also happen there.

I wrote this post a couple of years ago, Like Hessians But With Burritos Instead Of Bratwurst, and in it I suggested that the U.S. military might try to make up recruiting shortfalls by offering citizenship to mestizo illegals. It is a win-win for the globalists. They get fresh meat to fight in America’s wars and in return they also train and arm a non-American military that won’t be quite so hesitant to open fire on American citizens.

You could easily see Europe doing the same thing. The vast majority of “migrants” to Europe are fighting aged young men from Africa and Asia and they could be persuaded to join up for the right inducements. Imagine the UK sending a peacekeeping force to Ukraine that is made up largely of sub-Saharan African, Middle Eastern and South Asian types. Of course what happens when you train a bunch of invaders and then turn them loose in your country? Nothing good, that is for certain.

Western Europe is in trouble for a bunch of reasons and with Trump telling them they need to take care of their own problems instead of relying on Uncle Sam, it has become even more evident. It doesn’t help that they keep poking the Russian bear. I don’t think Russia has designs on Western Europe, the idea he is trying to recreate the Soviet Union has never struck me as terribly serious but “leaders” like Starmer and Macron seem hellbent on tangling with Russia. If they succeed and America doesn’t bail them out, it could get ugly in Western Europe in a hurry but then again, maybe a good old fashioned ass kicking is just what Western Europe needs to wake it up.

You are right about Germany. The highest german General in command of the groundforces admitted some time ago that the army is “blank”, meaning without clothes. We have barely enough equipment and men for one division and even that division has only about 50%-75% of the needed equipment because we gave al lot of what we have to Ukraine.

And regarding ammo: We have 2 read TWO days of fighting and then the german factories need 6 read SIX months to produce this amount of ammo.
And to the eqipment (tanks, etc) aboce: Those that we have dont run 100%. If you are lucky you have a 25% of running tanks, planes etc.

And our new APCs were ordered to be designed to safely carry pregnant female soldiers. We dont want anything to happen to the babies, sorry fetuses, unless the mom decides to get an abortion.

So, if Putin really wanted to go to war, he would need to send only a group of Boy Scouts – but even that would be overkill.

We stupidly believed McKinsey that you dont need logistical depots, that just-in-time is perfect for an army etc.
We got rid of the national reserve of food because Germanies freedom would be defended at the Hindu Kush and there would be no more war in Europe and therefore the food was shipped to Africa.

All according to the plan, Kamaraden. This way, there will be no chance of das Volk prevailing against the onslaught of the internal enemies; i.e., muslims, blacks, other assorted third world “migrants”, and antifa. These, and definitely NOT Russia, present Deutschland’s clear danger. Well, it took persistence, and the passage of about 80 years, but (((they))) are seeing the fulfillment of the (((Morgenthau))) plan. Only to be expected from the Chosenites, the people whose very “religion” revolves around glorying in the desolation of (((their))) perceived enemies.

While the fielding of a brown “European” military is hypothetically plausible (assuming they can find the money and the expertise to recruit, equip, and train them) such a thing is, at best, years away from becoming a reality, nowhere near in time to face the evil Russians. Until further notice, Europe is mostly defenseless and toothless, save for what nukes the UK and France possess.

There are relative exceptions here and there. I think if Poland wanted to conquer Germany to get some payback for things in the past, there would not be much to stop them.

If I were running a western European country, I’d put everything available into building a large drone force.

The predominant political power in Europe outside of the actual governments is the Turks. Any attempt to create a “brown” military will be setting up a situation for a military coup and takeover via a new Caliphate. I don’t think the Eurocrats are that stupid.
I think the “Hold Me Back” meme is pretty accurate. All of this talk is just posturing. When peace is achieved in Ukraine the Eurocrats can blame Trump and quietly breathe a sigh of relief in private.
Meanwhile, Trump is using the Ukraine situation as a stick to beat the Euros with on defense spending, something he has been talking about since 2015. It’s nice to see the globalist elites caught in a Catch-22 for a change.

What a horrifying reality. WRSA posted a Padraig Martin piece about the necessity of free speech to retain any semblance of a national identity. The quiet part is that the necessity of free speech gives rise to the necessity of being armed in order to defend free speech AND the WILL to employ said arms. Soy, weed, porn, high fructose corn syrup and video games has robbed most of a couple of generations of that will in their young men. Very, very bleak picture indeed.

Great article. I’m just happy to have grown up in the late 1950’s to the mid 1960’s. It all went down the crapper by the 1970’s.

The British situation is worse than you portray. Mark Felton has recently put up these two videos:

The Army with more horses than Tanks:

he Navy with more admirals than warships:

I know that when I was in the Brotish Army in the mid 1970’s I was gobsmaked that the engine in the Chieftain tanks used Russian bearings … Brilliant idea to rely on your potential enemy for stuff like that, eh?

  6. Steve S6

Hmmpfh. We have something on the order of 10 million military aged males we can send. And the Martial Law Administrator of Ukraine comedian Zelenskyy can train, supply and keep any that survive. We have to round them up for export anyway.

“”6 bases with 35,000 personnel in Germany ” It used to be more. A lot more. I think there were something like 500,000 troops stationed in West Germany at one time. Now the bases are spread out over the entire planet.

“I don’t think Russia has designs on Western Europe,

Look how long it is taking them to win the 4 oblasts that voted to be Russian. Yes, I understand that the Russians are going slow on purpose because they dont want to slaughter their fellow Russians. I think that in the modern day military climate (universal ISR, drones, logistics challenges) big arrow campaigns like WWII are just not in the card. And I don’t think Putin want anything past the Dnieper anyway. West of the Dnieper, Russia would be an occupying force and Russia doesn’t that the time or the will.

The sandal wearing Houthis have chased off no less than 2 Carrier Battle groups.

“is being exposed as a paper tiger.”

Your average normie has no idea to what degree the USA is a paper tiger. Take the f-35. It is a complete piece of shit. I read one place that one version of the F-35 is only 15% combat operational. 15 fucking %. All the rest are less than 40. There is no way F-35’s could handle round the clock operations. WE just had a carrier crash into some kind of transport vessel. So we are gonna be out one less carrier, out of 11, for a while.

The current version of war is drone centric. Yet NATO is still stuck in the 1990’s model. The barrier to entry to have the technology that can track and destroy an individual soldier is Houthi level low.

And here is the laughable threat by the German against the USA. Do these idiot not know they are just an occupied vassal at the moment. What are they going to threaten us with? It is like your 6 year old little sister threatening to tell Mom. What a joke.

    a)
    Every American is militia.
We have zero need for a standing military.
    .
    b)
    Our Esteemed Host writes:
    * “…the exact point…the military…changed from…protecting [American borders] to a huge scheme…”

I suggest reading SUPERMOB by Russo.
That ‘foreign influence’ we cannot criticize was active prior to The Great War Of 1914.
    .
That same criminal organization owned and owns every bureaucrat at every level of every government.
To be ‘elected’ or hired or awarded a contract, every individual pledges allegiance and support to that illegal abomination occupying Palestine.
    .
As every reader here knows, that ‘foreign influence’ produces putrid filth, lies, propaganda, and other pollution from hollywood and every other form of media.
    .
Without that ‘foreign influence’, negro people would still be negros instead of the ever-changing titles dujour the easily-led are told to adopt.
    Wakanda-Americans?
    Uppity.
    .
Without that ‘foreign influence’, a dollar would still be backed by something of tangible value instead of ‘full faith and credit’ and other flowery promises from grifters, thieves, and that ‘foreign influence’ [significant overlap]
Real money instead of fiat currency.
    .
Concurrent with terminating the foreign-aid skim-scam and the military skim-scam, I admit I cannot see any alternative to secession.

Barbara ‘Big-Brains’ Bozongo, ‘well-regarded’ ‘rocket-surgeon’, suggests this First Step:
    * we need to abandon American cities to anybody foolish enough to believe in some kind of miraculous come-back… despite decades of evidence to the contrary.
Each city is a yuge parasite, absorbing dwindling resources while producing waste, trash, sewage, and ‘laws’ [some overlap].

    c)
Short-sighted once again, fUSA government traitors imported thirty million ILLxGxLS with zero marketable skills nor jobs for them.
And apparently, about thirty million recently-terminated bureaucrats — with zero marketable skills — are soon to be joining them.

    I am vastly amused.

It’s rather pathetic. I try not to engage with anybody because “Thank you for your service” is given with great gusto, just like “It’s for the children” and “Diversity is our strength” are used.

In a land of retards I’ll be the retard in the swamp avoiding the other retards.

We’ve been offering expedited citizenship to ‘legal permanent residents’ since 2023 (revival of a program that I think began under GW Bush) so that they get citizenship at the same time they finish basic training. Bear in mind that most people with ‘green cards’ are exactly the same as those excoriated as ‘illegals’ – they just ran a better scam (got a tourist visa and stayed, married a mestizo who was born on magic dirt, or got a Filippino boss to file papers saying they needed him). And the Mexican cartels have been sending their guys with magic dirt/magic paper citizenship through army training for a couple of decades – big gang problems in the army. Not to mention all the blacks in the Navy who can’t swim (let alone navigate) and all the womyn. Tissue paper tiger at best.

My best friend’s husband spent 20 years with the British army. He and all his buddies were forced out by budget cuts in the early 1990s. He has his tales to tell of incompetence and insufficient forces.

I’ve read some stories claiming there are already more than a few Turks and other Mussulmen in Germany’s armed forces and police. They have just as much ‘divided loyalty’ (at best) as Jews in the US.

And now the cuckservatards have won the German elections and will partner with the Greens before they will deal with the AfD. We destroyed that once great people’s sense of identity and history just as much as we bombed their cities.

I don’t see much positive news internationally. I like that Trump is sidelining Zelensky. I want NOTHING to do with Gaza. I never liked Trumps’ zionism but can only pray his ego and civnat Americanism prove stronger than his philosemitism.

In the 1960’s, the USAF had North American Rockwell (an Independent Aircraft Builder) Design and Develop a 300-Ton, Mach-3+ ‘Bomber’ the B-70. Although typed as a ‘Bomber’, it was designed to carry Hypersonic (Mach 5+) Ramjet-Powered Cruise Missiles. Two were Built, one Crashed in a Midair Collision with a Fighter Plane.

In the 1960’s, the RuAF designed and Built at a Publicly-Owned Aircraft Design Bureau “Tupolev”, a 300-Ton, Mach-3+ ‘Bomber’ the Tu-160. It is also a Nuclear-Capable Missile Carrier. About 30 were built; after the collapse of the (((soviet union))) around 20 remained ‘Flyable’. These were Rebuilt and Upgraded. The Production Line has been re-Started, and the RuAF plans to eventually take delivery of around 70 of these Planes.

Now, which Nation’s Military is Planning and Spending for Equipment that can actually be Used to Defend their Nation against something other than Goat-F*kkrs? Anyone? Buhler?

p.s Convair, another Aerospace Builder, developed for the B-70 “Lenticular Defense Missiles”, actual Flying Saucers, 5 feet in Diameter and a foot Thick. They would be Launched from a Cassette Rack, Sideways into the Mach-3 Slipstream, then Turn to Target and accelerate to Mach 6 in 20 Seconds. Look up “Pye Whacket Missiles”.
