Cultural Suicide Leads To Actual Suicide

I have remarked before about the bizarre phenomenon of the Canadian obsession with American politics and culture. You could stop 20 random people on the streets of an American city and ask them the name of the Prime Minister of Canada and maybe one out of those 20 would know Mark Carney, assuming you could find 20 people that spoke English. Ask a Canadian the name of the U.S. President and even Eskimos up in the Northwest Territory would identify Trump.

This obsession has taken on a far more belligerent and outright hostile flavor under Trump 2.0 as a result of Trump trolling Canada about making them the 51st state, forcing Justin Trudeau to come to Florida to bend the knee and more recently the tariff wars and the silly “renaming” of Lake Ontario to Lake America.

One way this manifests itself is in Canadians lurking around American news sites on social media and then snobbishly chiming in on stories of shootings by pointing out that such things just don’t happen in Canada where the people are disarmed. They get kind of hostile when you point out that Canada’s black population is less than 1/3 the U.S. black population and that absent that black population America doesn’t really have a “gun violence” problem at all. It never stops being amusing to trigger Canadian lefties.

Anyway, I saw something interesting just the other day having to do with Canada’s obscene MAID, or “medical assistance in dying”, assisted suicide program.

It is common knowledge that MAID is used to kill off huge numbers of Canadians, mostly Whites. According to Grok it looks like this:

While Canada is majority White, that is still a dramatic overrepresentation of Whites in the state sanctioned euthanization program.

What really stunned me was seeing a claim on a Twitter post that I did a little research of my own to verify….

In the most recent comparable year, 2024, more Canadians died via MAID assisted suicide than Americans died from firearm homicides.

In 2024, the official firearm homicide number for the U.S. was 15,364 while in Canada state sanctioned euthanizing took 16,499 lives. That accounts for 5% of all deaths in Canada that year. That is an absolute number but when you consider that Canada only has around 40 million people while the U.S. is north of 350 million? That is just a whole lot of people being voluntarily killed for a variety of reasons.

The issue of assisted suicide or state sanctioned killing is a morally complex one but there are far too many stories of people in Canada and Europe, almost exclusively White people, who are put down for being depressed or some treatable condition.

This doesn’t happen in a vacuum, you don’t have 5% of all deaths coming from assisted suicide in a year without first creating the sort of conditions where people embrace dying early. Canada is a place where people are stubbornly trying to appear cheerful but it is forced and false with a large percentage of Canadians seemingly deeply depressed, having no hope for the future and believing they have nothing to live for. This reality is a marked difference from the image of upbeat and friendly Canadians that we get from popular culture. It was probably like that at one time but the rapid transformation of Canada has completely changed that nation into something unrecognizable by the older White Canadians who are most often victimized by state sanctioned senicide.
