NASCAR team member suspended indefinitely after incident at Charlotte Motor Speedway

NASCAR has suspended a team member indefinitely after an incident at Charlotte Motor Speedway this past weekend.
NASCAR put out its weekly penalty report on Wednesday, May 27. On the report was Evanna Howell. The document said she was suspended indefinitely for a “behavioral” incident.
Cabarrus County court records revealed the 35-year-old Howell was arrested on Saturday, May 23. An arrest warrant alleged that she used a golf cart to assault a man. She was subsequently charged with assault with a deadly weapon causing serious injury.
A Concord police report revealed that the alleged incident happened Saturday afternoon at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The report said the man was 77 years old and sustained a “severe laceration.”…
…Howell’s LinkedIn says she is a senior account manager for 23XI Racing, which is co-owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin. According to her profile, she has been with the team since 2021.
Assault with a deadly golf cart is a new one.
I was curious to discover what led to this incident. Why did she hit a 77 year old man with a golf cart (not that they usually need a reason)?
It doesn’t sound like a chimp out…
Howell had been operating a golf cart at the venue when she turned into a gate “going the wrong direction,” the report stated.
“When Howell went the wrong direction,” police officers wrote in the report, “two people that were directing traffic attempted to get Howell’s attention….
….“Howell then turned the vehicle around and hit the curb. Howell then hit one of the pedestrians pushing him into the fence and then running him over.”
The report identified the pedestrian as Dennis Manchester, a 77-year-old who was taken to a nearby hospital “with several serious injuries.”
Did she hit him for being an old White guy (I assume) daring to interfere with a stronk blaque wahmen doing something? Or was she shit-faced and just careening around out of control? I suspect the latter. She is due in court on June 16th, maybe we will find out more or the more likely scenario is that Number 23, Michael Joooooordan!, will quietly write the old guy a big check and give him some autographed merch and that will be that.
Name something that was once the exclusive domain of Whites that wasn’t effed up royally when blacks were added. I’ll wait.
