Responsible gun owners know one of the rules of firearm safety is to keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot. One ghettopotamus in Indianapolis took this to a whole other level. First the story….
Woman allegedly pulled a gun at Once Upon a Child because her kid couldn’t play with the toys
Tamya Staten, 21, was charged this week in Marion County court with felony intimidation and pointing a firearm. If convicted on both counts, Staten could face up to 8.5 years in prison.
IMPD officers were first called on July 16 to the Once Upon a Child store after an employee triggered the silent holdup alarm. Upon arrival, an employee began describing how Staten had pulled out a handgun and threatened her with it.
Staten had reportedly come into the store to sell clothing and brought her toddler with her. While completing the process of dropping off items, the employee saw Staten’s child playing in a small motorized car toy.
The employee told Staten that it was against store policy for children to play with toys in-store, and Staten reportedly said “okay.” However, the employee said she continued to let her child play on the car toy.
After the employee again told the mother about the store policy, Staten allegedly pulled out a “large black handgun” from her purse and put it into her leggings. Court documents detail how she then poked an employee in the face with her finger while making threats about a shooting.
“We can fight about it. We can get down,” Staten allegedly said. “I can use this [gun].”
The employee said Staten continued to make threats and became angry, eventually pulling the handgun out of her leggings and pointing it in the direction of employees. She then reportedly encouraged her child to keep playing with the toy and showed them how it works.
Ok so maybe a dumb policy but then again our local Once Upon A Child store doesn’t have a silent alarm, at least I don’t think it does.
Now the picture. See if you can spot the unique grip she is sporting….

No chance of an accidental discharge when you are holding the pistol by the extended magazine! Very safety conscious of her! I think firearms instructors around the country should adopt this grip as a way to really minimize accidental shootings.
Meanwhile the little niglet is just riding the car around in the backdrop. Little kids watch adults to see how to act and clearly mama is showing her little cricket that when you find something irritating or inconvenient the solution is to pull a gun.
An unrelated question, I wonder why so many seemingly minor squabbles in the black community end up in gunfire? It must be the result of White supremacy or something.
Defense counsel is going to argue that the, er, novel grip is proof that she did not intend to use the gun. Or maybe dey jus go wit de raycisms en shit. As usual.
It’s not a stupid policy, about the rideable cars thing. Apart from people tripping over the damn things, kids running into things and getting hurt (lawsuit incoming), they’re NOISY.
You cannot hate them enough. Everywhere these nasty, smelly things go, they make worse for everyday humans.
