Normally in the black “community” a black father will say he is going to the store to get a forty ounce and never comes back, abandoning his family.

In Chicago the store is the one doing the abandoning!

Chicago pol says Walgreens should be charged with ‘first-degree corporate abandonment’ over closure over theft

I’m sorry, what now? While I am no Saul Goodman, I am still pretty sure that there isn’t a statute called “Corporate Abandonment”, first degree or otherwise.

A Chicago alderman, incensed by the upcoming closure of a Walgreens store amid safety concerns, stated that the corporate retailer should be charged with “first-degree corporate abandonment.”

Ald. William Hall, along with several community members, held a news conference Monday to voice their anger over the company’s decision to close the location in Chicago’s 6th Ward in the Chatham neighborhood.

“Walgreens should be charged with first-degree corporate abandonment,” Hall said. “It should be a crime, the way they’re treating our elders. It should be a crime, the way they’re treating our families.”

The store is slated to close on June 4. Fox News Digital has reached out to both Hall’s office and Walgreens for further comment.

GGMink Hair Extensions, Too Kute Hair & Wigs and Zahara CiCi Hair Braiding. Around the corner is a nail salon and a “beauty” supply store catering to stronk blaque wahmen. Behind it are what appears to be several large parking lots that are empty on satellite and of course the neighborhood is littered with sail fone stores, fried chicken joints, totally licensed daycare centers, etc.

Dozens of South Side residents gathered on Monday outside of a Chatham Walgreens, waving signs saying “Senior Lives Matter” and “End Corporate Abandonment,” after learning the store will be closing.

Daycare owner Latonya Mitchell said her center’s families were alarmed that the pharmacy would be closing. Many of the children she cares for at Exceptional Little Leaders Academy are from low-income families that visit the Walgreens because it’s within walking distance, she said. The children she serves need medication for conditions like ADHD and asthma, she said.

“It’s unacceptable to these children that they can’t get the things that they need from a place like this, and then you gotta leave us destitute and in a desert,” Mitchell said. “That’s not fair to us, and that’s not fair to these children. That’s not fair to our seniors, and that’s not fair to the members of this community.”

Walgreens said in a statement that theft and violent incidents led to its decision to close the store at 8628 S. Cottage Grove Ave. It’s the only Walgreens in the neighborhood, with the nearest location 1.3 miles away at 1616 E. 87th St.

“Despite a range of efforts, including previous operating adjustments, these ongoing safety challenges have made it increasingly difficult to maintain a secure environment for our team members and customers,” the company said. “While this was not an easy decision, safety must remain our top priority.”

Theft was so bad the store locked everything up and black criminals still found ways to steal. I have seen videos where one black has a blowtorch and melts open the locked plastic bins while an accomplice then empties out the contents. If blacks would channel the effort they expend to commit crimes into working actual jobs they and the rest of the country would be much better off but preferring criminality over gainful employment is part of black “culture”.

In all of the hurfing and blurfing from Alderman Hall there isn’t a hint of blame for the people that were robbing this store and committing various acts of violence. As is always the case, nothing is ever their fault. Everything is an “injustice” being inflicted upon the poor, long-suffering black communi-tay.

I maintain my position that the worst influence on the black community is not gangsta rappers, it is from black clergy and black “community leaders”.

2Gs don’t care about the store being robbed blind by other 2Gs. They see theft from businesses as a legitimate way to make a living. The thieves don’t care about the people being impacted and the people being impacted refuse to call out the thieves. They simply refuse to do anything but bitch. There is nothing stopping a couple of black pharmacists from getting a business loan, leasing the soon to be vacant Walgreens which is in a shitty neighborhood and would be cheap, and opening a local black owned pharmacy.

They won’t do that because those pharmacists don’t want to invest in a business where the neighbors will rob them blind regardless of whether they are owned by a giant corporation or by a couple of brothas.

It is a pretty simple formula….

If Walgreens could make a profit from this store, they would keep it open

They can’t and so they won’t

That is really it. If subs would stop stealing everything not nailed down, businesses would stay open in their neighborhoods. That is why they are closing the Chatham store but not stores in White neighborhoods.

The South and West sides have fewer pharmacy locations than other areas of the city. Access to the two largest pharmacy chains in Chicago — Walgreens and CVS — is much higher in the city’s white communities than in Black or Latino areas, a 2022 Chicago Sun-Times analysis showed. Of Walgreen’s more than 100 Chicago locations, about one-third are on the South and West sides.

That isn’t racism, it is simple business sense. Stores where I live have nothing behind locked glass because we don’t steal from those businesses. Maybe Alderman Hall could call on his Chicongo community to stop stealing from pharmacies and groceries and those business might just stay open.
