Tramain Beeks, 21, is accused of firing a shot at a vehicle leaving the Popeyes at 7430 South Stony Island Avenue in South Shore after an argument over how four customers would pay for their order.
According to prosecutors, Beeks was working the drive-thru around 9:07 p.m. on August 5 when the group pulled up and placed an order. The customers asked to pay separately, but Beeks rang the purchase on a single ticket instead, and an argument ensued at the drive-thru window, according to the allegations.
Beeks eventually handed over the food, and the customers drove off. But as their vehicle exited the drive-thru lane, Beeks allegedly stepped outside, pulled out a handgun, and fired one shot at the car as it left the lot.
The bullet missed, and no injuries were reported. The customers called the police.
South Shore is listed as 92% black and given this was at a Popeyes this is almost certainly 2G-on-2G violence. I am sure the people in the car were polite and respectful when asking for their orders to be rung up separately.
Ringing them up separately was probably a minor hassle but shooting at them? It’s another case of asking “What was he thinking?” and then “Why would you assume ‘Tramain’ is even capable of thinking?”. They were leaving, it was over. It is the sort of thing everyone who works with the public in customer service deals with on a daily basis but rather than just being pissed, maybe grumbling about it later, Tramain decides to step outside and pop off a single round. He was fingered by both the people in the car and two of his co-workers. I am certain Tramain was a delight to work alongside.
Treat every black like a hand grenade with the pin out and the spoon held in place by a small piece of dirty Scotch tape.

It didn’t possess the IQ to suh trak from the total bill, or was too lazy to reconcile the bill’s total into the 4 customers’ individual orders.
There could be yet another excuse: it knew the 4 customers and vice versa. And the 4 customers wanted to precipitate a violent reaction. Regardless, seeing or in this case, being “served” by a 2G, is one too many. The solution is simple. Eat at home; fewer chemicals and fewer chances of becoming a casualty of DIEversity.
