The times they are a’changin’ and the Left, once proudly anti-gun, has been quietly and not so quietly arming and training for the last decade, accelerating once Trump 2.0 happened and especially after Renee Good and Alex Pretti became good communists.
Of course this is not happening organically. Nothing these fruitcakes do is their own idea. Do you think a significant percentage of people in America suddenly decided all on their own that they were “assigned the wrong gender at birth”? Of course not. There is a large online community that is certainly at least somewhat organized and funded, likely by foreign adversaries as well as domestic insurrectionists, that spends all day online using Telegram and Discord and other medium to whisper perversions and hatred into the minds of people that are unmoored from society.
However it is happening, the Left is arming up and embracing a perverted interpretation of the 2nd Amendment that only applies to socialists engaged in the class struggle to defend marginalized communities or some similar bullshit.

That fear mongering is a critical component. While it is leftists who are generally speaking causing mischief, looting and rioting and attacking random people, they have at the same time been convinced that there is a vast right-wing movement of people out committing acts of violence. This is “proven” by referencing January 6th as well as some inaccurate “statistics” and older events like the Tree of Life synagogue shooting.
Most ardent very online leftists have been convinced that there are hordes of “literal Nazis” out looking for gays to bash and blacks to shoot. Sadly this is not true but something being factually not true doesn’t stop these loons from believing it like Brandon Manning….
Elsewhere we have the “Socialist Rifle Association”, a far left group that proudly uses Soviet iconography and boasts something like 100,000 members.
While the “conservative” National Rifle Association and other gun rights group stridently avoid talking about any political issues other than the 2A and are just as likely to step on their dicks when they do stray from the 2A (see: Et tu GOA? ), the Socialist Rifle Association very specifically advocates for owning and training with firearms for the purpose of communist revolution. To them the guns are a means to an end, while for the NRA and other pro-gun groups on “the right” there are only vague nods to self-defense and tyrannical government.
Imagine starting a “National Socialist Rifle Association”. The NRA, GOA and everyone else would trip over themselves in their rush to denounce you. The Feds would be all over the group. The media would run stories about how dangerous you were in stark contrast to the glowing stories about the Socialist Rifle Association even though socialism/communism/Marxism killed many multiple times the people that even the wildest figures attribute to the Third Reich.

Anyway, she talks about how scary it is out there and that she owns a 9mm Smith & Wesson M&P. I also own one of those, although mine is the cool Performance Center one. She describes shooting this very mild handgun like this:

This is supposed to be a serious journalist writing a totally serious article. That aura is further diminished when Slate retweeted her story right above a story about a humiliating threesome experience….
I shudder to even think what that story is all about.
Again these are decidedly unserious and silly people. They shouldn’t be allowed to vote or own property or even leave the insane asylum except on tightly controlled field trips. That doesn’t mean they are not dangerous and furthermore they are convinced that you are the really dangerous ones.
Most of them are like Christina Cauterucci who admits that while she still has her Smith 9mm, she doesn’t own any rounds for it. Many others, like those profiled in the story right above that one are doing real drills, shooting from cover, moving and shooting, doing the sort of “tactical” drills that you ought to be doing if you think you might need to shoot someone in a serious conflict that is shooting back at you.
They are silly and insane as well as armed but that makes them more dangerous, not less. You can’t reason with them or convince them no one is out to get them and they are far more zealous in their willingness and desire to kill “Nazis” than most of us are about killing communists. They want to completely destroy Western civilization and replace it with some degenerate fever dream and they won’t stop unless they are made to stop. Based on how many of them are arming up and training up, that will require more than stern words.
Bottom line, don’t assume that if shit kicks off that leftists will just line up holding stupid misspelled signs and wait for you to shoot them.
I would encourage you to read the linked articles, all of them are archived links so you won’t be giving them clicks, but ask yourself if your training and your commitment matches that of so many on the left. If you are honest with yourself, you might feel the need to ramp up your training now that the weather is warming up.

Once again, excellent and timely post. Needless to say, I’ve also been mentioning that it’s not just the right that has guns, and it’s not going to be a cakewalk. The other thing the left has is youth – not to knock experience, but there are a lot of OLD gun owners and vets, and time and tide wait for no man. What the left plans to create is the insane degeneracy of Weimar combined with the terror and control of the Soviets under Stalin. It’s 1984 plus Brave New World plus Harrison Bergeron on steroids – and they genuinely, desperately, want to create this ‘utopia.’ And it will mean the death of everything and everyone we all love.
Don’t underestimate their brokenness and their hatred. Genuine evil deserves NO compassion and no forgiveness. Harden your hearts, and harden your homes. Teach your children and grandchildren to hate evil, and to be prepared to confront it if they are to have any hope of surviving.

You will only very rarely see former Tier 1 operators offering free training for patriot groups. For one, they don’t have various billionaire funded NGOs paying for everything so they have to run it as a business. For two, training civilians (as opposed to law enforcement) typically brings a lot of heat down on them. If you want top level training (and you should) you will need to go looking for it, vet the instructors very carefully, and be prepared to travel and spend significant funds.
You need it, along with a group of like minded friends. Time is growing short.
