Ever since Trump came down that escalator and announced he was running for President on a platform that focused on border security, “news” organizations have been on a mad scramble to find sob stories to run on repeat showing how heartless the Bad Orange Man truly is.
This is why your “local news”, likely owned by some huge media conglomerate, runs stories from across the nation that don’t seem to make sense in your market and why those stories so often portray Whites in a bad light or otherwise push The Narrative.
This is a case where the local “news” didn’t have to go far. A local family is trying to adopt 3 Haitian boys and are having trouble because of the suspension of visas from Haiti. This is leading to a delay in their adoption of these Haitians and that of course is great fodder for a sob story.
Now this is not a childless couple, they already have five children of their own. They just want “to love on some more kids”, peak cringey evangelical speak.

After nearly three years of navigating the emotional and complex process of international adoption, Hope and Zach Dykehouse of Columbia City are facing an unexpected obstacle that has put their family’s plans on hold.
The Dykehouses are in the process of adopting three brothers from Haiti, boys ages 4, 6, and 7. The couple, who already have five biological children ages 10, 12, 14, 16, and 17, was just days away from completing the final step of the process when immigrant visas for Haiti were suspended under a new federal policy.
“We were about a week away from getting our visa,” Zach Dykehouse said. “There’s a lot of cost… medical evaluations, psychological evaluations, home studies, tuberculosis tests, physicals, references. A lot goes into it. At first we thought, ‘This probably won’t stick,’ but the longer it’s gone on, we’re realizing it’s something we’re going to have to contend with. It’s devastating.”…
….The couple says their decision to adopt was rooted in faith and a desire to care for children without families. “We enjoyed our family, we enjoyed having kids, and this felt like a good way to love on some more kids,” Zach said. Hope added, “We feel really blessed, and we felt like God was pushing us toward it.”
The first question I have: are these kids even really orphans?
As most of you know, I went to Haiti on a mission trip shortly after moving to Indiana and about a year after the earthquake. The group I went with (and I am not affiliated with them in any way) was full of great people who really believe they are helping and a few years after my trip they changed the name of their organization from The Haiti Orphan Project to Hope Community Project. The reason for the change is explained on their Who We Are page (emphasis mine):
Following the earthquake in January 2010, the number of orphanages in Haiti increased significantly. There are approximately 750 institutions in Haiti. Less than 15% of these are officially registered with the government of Haiti. Orphanages tend to be privately run, and funding, for the most part, is provided by foreign donors. With little to no oversight given to corrupt leadership, resources are selfishly squandered as children live in deplorable conditions. There are currently approximately 30,000 children who live in Haitian orphanages. 80% of these children are not orphans at all but have at least one living parent or extended family who could care for them, given some support. Case evidence demonstrates that many of these 30,000 children could be at home with their families if basic health and education costs were covered.
The focus of the group has changed from “orphan care” to helping families become self-sufficient so they can keep their children with them.
Haitians figured out quickly that they could send their child to an “orphanage” and the White suckers nice White people would provide them a safe place to live, food, medical care and education. That might sound ridiculous to many people, who would send their own kids to an orphanage? You might if you lived in a nation like Haiti that is, and I don’t use this word lightly, hopeless.
Even the poorest American can set their child on a path where with some luck and hard work they can become successful. There are no paths like that in Haiti other than joining one of the violent (sometimes cannibalistic) gangs that run Haiti. In Haiti sending your kid to an “orphanage” can be a pathway for them to be safe at least until the become adults, although the system is a disaster and fertile hunting ground for predators like Jeriah Mast who molested at least 30 different Haitian boys as part of Christian Aid Ministries. That is a whole different issue.
Back to this story. While I am sure this couple is well meaning, they are talking about bringing into this country 3 kids from a nation with an average IQ that is below room temperature, a people that have been incapable of even the most basic self-governance for some 200 years of “independence”.
This is not, despite what some might claim, a purely personal decision. These boys will magically become “American citizens” and no matter how they turn out will be our collective responsibility. If they turn out OK, no harm no foul I guess although I object to the importation of Haitians or anyone else at this stage. If they turn out to be typical Haitians, we all get to foot the bill. In a few years they will get the same vote you and I get and will immediately become eligible for the social safety net.
I don’t want to ascribe motivations to Zach and Hope Dykehouse as I don’t know them. I will say that I have seen this sort of thing all too many times. You see the disaster that is Haiti and want to do something. I will also say that there are far too many Christians that see adopting a kid from Haiti or some other third world shithole as a way to show how pious and virtuous they are. Recall that Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett has five children of her own but also adopted two children from Haiti and her tenure on the SCOTUS has been shaky at best as she often seems to show that same suicidal altruism that infects so many White women.
The problem is that as stated earlier, we all are on the hook for the children they bring into this country. Amy Coney Barrett and her husband are loaded so their Haitian kids are given the very best possible upbringing but I have seen nice young black adopted kids in nice White homes turn sideways when they get older. No one seems to ask what benefit the rest of us get because a family that already has five children decides they need 3 more but from Haiti. There are plenty of kids in need that are already right here in America in the foster care system but being a foster parent doesn’t get you the same social media clout as rescuing black kids from overseas.
The evangelical Christian foreign mission-industrial complex is an enormous money machine. Christians will pour money into foreign “mission work” far more readily than they will for domestic mission work. Show up at some American evangelical church and give a presentation about doing mission work at the nearby large American city and you will be greeted with polite attention and stifled yawns. Same church but a presentation showing little black kids living in shipping containers in Haiti or Africa and the wallets will come out.
It is just human nature. Foreign missions are cool and exciting, domestic missions are boring and I also believe that while most American evangelicals won’t admit it, they understand the futility of mission work in Detroit and Baltimore. Who wants to post pictures of you trying to help some sullen black kid in Memphis when you could put up pictures of you with a starving kid in Ethiopia?
There is something more. It seems to me, having read the New Testament many times, that the call to do mission work and works of mercy and charity are not just collective calls but individual calls. Sending some money to a missionary family you see once every couple of years is basically sub-contracting your personal calling (the same is true with professional pastors for that matter). For a fraction of the cost of a foreign mission you can go to your nearest city and do mission work for people in your own community.
This post is kind of all over the place but I hope the basic gist got through. The last thing America needs is to import more Haitians but because of the suicidal altruism of all too many White Americans, that is exactly what we are getting.

Totally agree with the whole virtue signalling thing re foreign missions versus helping close to home. My church pushes a Haiti food drive annually. I have voiced my opinion on that more than once and most of the guys I’ve discussed it with have eventually come around to the understanding that it won’t change and the effort would be better spent on the local food bank or St Vincent de Paul community efforts.

Interestingly I just read an article in the local weekly newspaper where I live here in central Wisconsin that our city (population 4,600), is considering applying for a relocation grant from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to bring up to 20 families to the area. The cost to the City could approach $20,000 of a total $100,000 to be spent. Money would go toward closing costs on homes, employment placement assistance, assistance with moving expenses, and funds to encourage community integration (movie tickets, memberships to a local gym, and dinners in area restaurants).
Of course, our readers can quickly assume the type of people this program will attract. It’s being sold as trying to attract doctors, lawyers (who needs more of those fuckers), and other professional personal. Seems to me you should already have a job if you are moving to the area as opposed to piling in looking for work.
The ilk that could possibly show up will most likely be pajeets, Somalians, and muzzies. People who lake lots and contribute nothing.

So, where did the Evangelical idiots get the idea that the Law doesn’t matter anymore, just your relationship with Christ? From Pharisees, now called Jews, and from seminary graduates that, like other college students, just parrot back what the teacher told them.

Well, there are the Sephardic jews, which may have some small element of Hebrew DNA. But, because of our disobedience, there are many “jews” that have “White” DNA, and therefore Hebraic ancestry. We are thrilled to announced that our USCIS i-800 has been approved finally and we are now waiting for the next box to get checked in the long list b4 they can come home. Continue to pray for Haiti and all the innocent there. Pray for a quick process and that our children are safe and taken care of in their orphanage. Adoption is something I have always found compelling, but is something that did not seem possible with our life. As our kids have gotten older and we enjoy the freedom from diapers and car-seats, we both started to feel led to adoption. My own spiritual life has become more real as I have become involved in a men’s ministry and the youth ministry at our church. I can see the fruit from this in our family. Hope has also become more involved in our local homeschool community and in an online annual devotional that has built her up. The work of God in our lives can be seen in our marriage and relationships with our kids. My priorities have begun to shift away from the life I thought I wanted to live to the life God has called us to. I am ever more aware of the incredible gift our children are. We love raising our family and feel that we have even more space in our hearts for children. -Zach

The bible speaks to this, and how performing “good” works for the purpose of gaining clout with others invalidates the value of any such acts. Charity is to be performed for its own sake, quietly, and without seeking to break one’s arm patting oneself on the back, nor in soliciting the congratulatory feedback of others. That they need to go on a very public begathon to fulfill their “mission” by having others give them money before they can buy their “trophies” (and thereby everlasting display pieces to demonstrate their self proclaimed “goodness” in the form of three castoffs who quite obviously will always look different, and will thereby by instantly recognizable as tokens of what these people did) makes it a garish display of peacocking no different than a facial tattoo that says “worship my goodness ye inferior beings, because I love niggers”. It is just as crazy as the illogical and self evidently delusional bullshit rabid leftists chose to believe in, and will fight (and die, ala a certain recently deceased dyke) in the street to prove their commitment to it.
A white child could (at least in theory) be adopted, but if adopted young enough, will grow up speaking without any noticably dissimilar accent, and therefore will never be immediately and outwardly recognizable as anything other than ones own biological child (unless one makes a habit of always pointing out the distinction to others upon meeting, which would clearly be a strange way to behave). And that just will never do, because the whole point of the entire exercise is to possess an object that, upon others merely setting sight upon it, will tell exactly the story these braggadocios cocksuckers want to convey.
You may think me far too cynical, but I absolutely will not believe their motives are pure. If they were, they might settle for only one child, which they could afford without imploring on others to fund their idiocy. Even that would still be an unnecessary display of virtue snivelling. My old church decided to start a Christian School in India to help poor kids learn English and get a good education.
