After the weird theater of bombing Iran, an incident that stinks of performative warfare, and then the kidnapping of the ruler of Venezuela, Trump’s attention seems to have shifted mostly to “foreign policy”, a cutesy D.C. term that means “which nations are we currently bombing”.
It is all very bizarre. After some high level meetings it sort of looked like progress was being made to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict but given the refusal of Zelensky and his puppet masters to recognize reality, namely that the territories lost are not going to be just given back to Ukraine, there seems to be little actual progress toward ending the war. The Russians keep grinding territory while repeatedly hitting Ukrainian infrastructure, especially power plants, while “Ukraine” or more likely Western forces commit symbolic attacks to justify extending the war. Meanwhile more White people die who will likely be replaced in Ukraine by “migrants”. Trump seems to have washed his hands of it.
Instead his attention is on “regime change”. The transparently Astroturf “popular uprising” in Iran is as kosher as they come. The media unquestioningly parrots back casualty figures that would make the Eastern Front in World War II blush. Li’l Lindsey Graham is screeching about attacking Iran, banging his fist on the podium with one hand while jerking his joystick with the other. That “exiled Iranian Crown Prince” named Reza Pahlavi thinks he will just stroll in and take over and is already promising to kiss the wall:

My theory is that he is bored.
From day one, Trump has been thwarted by the courts and by his own party. The pattern repeats itself over and over, Trump issues some executive order and before anything is done a random judge, almost always a White chick or some foreigner with a Star Wars name, will issue an injunction. The administration appeals it and it gets lost in the morass of the legal system.
This Congress is every bit as useless as the last Congress when Trump was in charge and the GOP was in the majority. Very few of them support an America First agenda or anything about Trump, and when it comes down to it the Republican Party as a whole is much happier when they are not in power so they can bitch and moan and not actually be expected to do anything.
I am certain that when Democrats take over again, partially in the midterms elections this fall and totally when a Democrat wins the Presidential “election” in 2028, they will not sit around wondering what to do. A new Democrat President will immediately reverse all of Trump’s orders and unlike Democrat appointed Federal judges, Republican judges won’t do anything to interfere. A Democrat majority Congress will push legislation through with only the meekest of outcry from Republicans and also will be dragging Trump administration officials in front of show trial “hearings”.
Domestically speaking, Trump’s window to do anything is slamming shut quickly.
While Trump has never been accused of being self-aware, even he has to realize this on some level and his focus in his second term has been on his “legacy” like his vanity project Trump-class super-battleships (if they ever get built they will be renamed almost immediately once he is out of office, maybe after Kamala Harris? The flagship could be christened the U.S.S. Cum Guzzler…).
With his domestic agenda completely stymied, Trump is pivoting to where he thinks he can accomplish some tangible achievements, no matter how ill advised. Like a little kid upset because he is losing in one game, he doesn’t want to play any more and is moving on to something else.
That is not as titillating as talking about Trump being compromised somehow but it seems to me to be more realistic. I am not saying Trump isn’t compromised but rather that he is more likely just bored and frustrated that his domestic agenda is going nowhere and is turning to foreign wars, invasions, kidnappings, blustering, whatever because there he has more of a free hand as commander in chief. Not to mention almost no one in Congress will do anything to stop him when he is kicking off conflicts as most of them are deeply in the pocket of AIPAC and the military-industrial complex.
Going to war because you are mad and have the impulse control of an overcaffeinated toddler isn’t a great reason to start shooting but it really isn’t much worse than the reasons we usually go to war.
I’ve been wanting the US to purge the cartels south (and their tendrils extending north) of the border for a long time. It’s one of the few military ventures that actually make sense with regards to benefiting us; it cuts one of the sources of invaders, it cuts the flow of drugs, and backlash from criminals in the US as a response to this would also justify even harsher methods of cleansing the US of their filth. Venezuela feels like a warning shot to others in South and Central America.
Of course, I want far more than a warning shot. This is just one part of a multifaceted problem that should have been addressed decades ago instead of the (seemingly purposefully) pathetic ‘war on drugs’.
I want the same but I also want the wall finished with sensors, drones and no go zones. Then we need the same thing on our Northern border to keep out the muslims.
I don’t know if Trump is bored, but I am definitely bored with Trump (and electoral politics in general). I don’t want to invade or police anywhere – and he has a long list. He occasionally does something domestically that sounds good, but it’s immediately challenged by some magic paper Haitian ‘American’ judge appointed by Obama out in some blue hive. Trump just ‘paused’ immigrant visas from 75 shithole countries (which should have been done 40 years ago) but no clue if that includes the diversity visa lottery. And they can still apply for tourist/visitor’s visas, which none of them legitimately qualify for, but that hasn’t stopped issuance for 50 years. And the list of countries includes Pakistan, but not India. And not Israel.
I scan news of happenings in formerly Minnesota, and it’s an alien place to me. Even the thought of going back to visit a big city is alien to me. They cannot be fixed. Sure, some folks are salivating over Trump supposedly using the Insurrection Act and calling in the military – will they be issued rounds for their rifles? Otherwise they are just cartoon cutouts, like every time Trump or azzhole Abbott sent National Guard soldiers to the border. It’s all theatre.
I just can’t care anymore. This country was over many years ago, and perhaps 25% of Whites are just now noticing. I don’t care how many hot-to-trot old vets with guns there are – they are not going to somehow rid the land of 160 million aliens (with/without magic papers) and however many 2Gs and jews. Very few Americans are even remotely aware of the fact that ALL of the drug cartels operating out of Mexico and Columbia have been operating under an umbrella organization called the Cartel Del Sol. As for Iran, I am in a wait and see mode right now. I have mixed feelings about a possible US strike on Iran. On the one hand, I am totally against war (former Marine here), and I am tired and sick to death of all the wars we have been in just during my lifetime. On the other hand, it is true that the mullocracy of Iran has been directly responsible for most of the unrest and bloodshed in the Middle East ever since they overthrew the Shah in 1979.
I think it would probably be a bad idea for us to strike Iran. During the two week war between Israel and Iran last year, Iran did far, far more damage to Israel with their Russian hypersonic missiles than the corrupt media would ever admit. That is why Israel called it off so quickly, because they were getting clobbered.
As such, I think it is naive to think that if we struck Iran, that our bases in Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, and elsewhere would not also get clobbered by Iran’s hypersonic missiles, against which we have no defense and no equivalent. Having said that, perhaps Trump and Hegseth know certain things that we don’t know, so all any of us can do is wait and see.
Trump is in charge as much as Biden was in charge. Trump is bored like a white-collar criminal on house arrest gets bored wandering his various compounds, able to do pretty much anything but terribly agitated that he is unable to do the few things that he wants to do more, partly by nature of not being allowed those few things by some power bigger than him. As an addendum to my above comment, lest you all think I am a Trump worshipper, I am not. I do stand by my comments above – the Venezuela operation was a good thing, and it was long overdue. Having said that, Trump has made some real mistakes.
Mistake number one was not ending the war in Ukraine on Day One. This could have been done by presidential order. No more US or NATO material support of any kind for the corrupt Zelensky government. Secondly, he should have issued a decree that the Eastern Ukrainian provinces of Luhansk and Donetsk are and historically always have been part of Russia, and therefore Ukraine needs to acknowledge that fact and immediately cease all military action against Russia. Trump himself when running for office in 2015 posed the question : “Why are we enemies with Russia ? We should be friends with them.”
And he was absolutely right. They are no longer the Soviet Union. They are no longer Communists seeking world dominion. They are a nation of White Christians. They are our tribe. And the reason Putin is so massively popular in Russia is that he is a true Russian patriot who puts the interests of Russia and Russian citizens above all else. And he is practicing what Trump himself espoused – That every president of every country should put the best interests of his own citizens first.
Mistake number two was in not withdrawing ALL support from Israel when they began their intentional and systematic extermination of the so-called Palestinians residing in the Gaza Strip after the Israeli false-flag operation of October 7th. Now, I have no affection for the ‘Palestinians’. They are little more than professional victims and rabble rousers. But they are human beings, and they ARE being genocided by Israel. Trump should have and could have taken the moral high ground by condemning Israel and cutting off ALL material support. But he did not, probably because he is highly controlled if not outright owned by the Israeli lobby.
Mistake number three was failing to investigate and prosecute all those who were involved with stealing the 2020 election. Along the same lines, mistake number four was failing to investigate and prosecute all those who were involved in the illegal rounding up and imprisoning the J6 protesters. And an ongoing mistake number five is not aggressively prosecuting all the Somali and Democrat Party officials who have allowed and perpetrated the massive industrial scale fraud and theft that is still ongoing. And finally mistake number six is not ramping up an industrial scale ICE operation to round up and deport MILLIONS of illegal aliens, not just the tens of thousands that have been removed so far.
So I am not a knee-jerk Trump supporting cuckservative. He has made some huge mistakes. But he has also done some things right, such as the Venezuela operation. What other American politician on either side of the aisle can you think of who would have had the balls and the moxie to do what needed to be done regarding Venezuela?
