Trump, like most men, is a product of his time – when America was a world economic power and policeman, when we were all going to join hands and have a coke, when excess was celebrated. While he’s not stupid, Trump is not the man to see past all that. He recognizes some things are shaky (lack of manufacturing) and is trying to hold together a failing service economy. But he’s still a boomer and a civnat.
Those of us who see and abhor what’s happening are destined to be Cassandras living in ‘interesting’ times. I don’t think anyone could stop what’s coming. Human nature, envy, unnatural heterogeneous societies, AI – it’s all coming to a head. Israel is definitely part of that, but civilizational collapse is not a single-issue thing.
All correct, and unfortunately completely unlikely to course correct given the players involved. I had zero expectations of Trump’s second term, and it really does look like he will handily meet that baseline. The thing is, it matters not if he has some small policy victories, as they will be fleeting. As soon as he’s gone, and a full on communist piece of shit takes control, anything he did accomplish will be undone. Hell, I’d not be surprised to see the Monica Lewinsky Ballroom torn down just out of spite, that is how petty the left is.
They will undo every policy improvement he did manage to pull off, because he failed at the single most important task he was given: kneecapping the fucking leftists in this country. He could – and should – invoke the insurrection act (damn the public perception, the public is largely stupid and doesn’t know what’s good for them) so the gloves can come off and he can just start rounding these fuckers up with the military.
But, he is too boomer invested in trusting and working the system (which leaves me incredulous, given what he has personally experienced) to make that leap. He should’ve done it his first term, but of course the Rubicon went uncrossed and remains so even now. I don’t believe he has the testicular fortitude to cross that line, so we’re just shit outta luck. Whether that was always the case, or he became TACO because the slithering kikes have his ear, really doesn’t matter now, does it? The outcome is the same.
