I guess I should check the news from Fort Lauderdale more often because….well, see for youself.

Man raped woman hurt in car crash instead of taking her to hospital, Fort Lauderdale police say

Brenden Lee Jones, whose name is alternatively listed in official records as Brendon or Brendan Lee Jones, is accused of raping the woman on Sept. 15, 2023 after the two had gotten into a car crash and she was hurt.

According to an incident report from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, the woman, living at a Lauderhill homeless shelter, called that city’s police department to report that she was raped “somewhere behind the KFC” at 3100 W. Broward Blvd…..

….Police said the two drove back to Jones’ house, even though the victim said she “told them to take her home if they weren’t going to take her to a hospital.”

Authorities said she fell asleep in Jones’ bed and awoke to him raping her, despite her telling him to stop.

The woman told police that Jones made comments like, “I can do what I want” and “Open your f—ing legs, you made me crash my car,” according to the report….

….Authorities said Jones’ DNA turned up in rape kit evidence processed in 2024, leading to his eventual arrest Thursday.

Florida Department of Corrections records show Jones has served time in prison for robbery, selling cocaine and escape.

While I was looking at Local 10’s website for that story, I saw a couple others I needed to share.

A 17-year-old has been charged as an adult after he allegedly brought a gun to school in El Portal, Local 10 News learned Monday.

According to an arrest report from Miami-Dade Schools Police, the incident happened April 25 at Dr. Marvin Dunn Academy for Community Education, located at 8950 NW Second Ave.

The report states that an “administrative search” on Kingjajah Jerold Clarke’s bookbag revealed a gun inside – specifically a Taurus 9 mm semi-automatic handgun.

To describe the expression on Kingjajah’s face as vacant is like calling the Grand Canyon a hole in the ground. You will be stunned to discover that Kingjajah attends an “alternative school” in the Miami-Dade system, the Dr. Marvin Dunn Academy for Community Education and that “Community Education” is code for “dumping ground for dumb minority kids”

Less than half the scholars graduate and those that bother taking college entrance tests don’t do so great….

A 799 on the SAT is around the bottom 15% of test takers, and that is just the kids that took the test so if they are that dumb, imagine the average student.

Then finally this one….

A 25-year-old woman is facing a string of felony charges after authorities say she pistol-whipped another woman unconscious and dragged her into an apartment during a violent encounter in Biscayne Gardens over the weekend.

Jail records show Jaimaijai Mensie was arrested Saturday and is facing four counts of illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and one count each of kidnapping with a firearm, false imprisonment with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Not only is she a convicted felon but she has “five active domestic violence injunctions”. How did America survive before people with names like Jaimaijai Mensie graced us with their presence.

I didn’t even look for the other two stories, I just saw them while scrolling for a second. Fort Lauderdale is apparently quite a lovely town.
