One of the mass shootings I referenced in Friday’s post, Memorial Weekend Mayhem, has already had an arrest made. The arrest came following the South Carolina shooting at the “Rock Tha Boat Memorial Weekend Day Boat Party” and given that it was a sailing related shooting, the suspect is delightfully appropriate.

A 2G sailor commits a mass shooting on a boat (or at least on a dock after disembarking from a boat). You can’t make this shit up.
A U.S. Navy sailor was arrested in Illinois Thursday as the suspect in a mass shooting over Memorial Day weekend in South Carolina that wounded at least 10 people.
Shawon Shamarion Williams, 19, was arrested by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, or NCIS, and was booked into the Lake County Jail north of Chicago. The Navy sailor is assigned to Naval Station Great Lakes near North Chicago.
Cellphone video shows the chaotic shooting scene from Memorial Day weekend. Ten people were shot as they got off a boat in Little River, South Carolina — a community near the North Carolina state line.
Williams was taken into custody Thursday afternoon in Lake County, Illinois, Cmdr. Jessica L. McNulty, U.S. Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery spokeswoman, confirmed. Williams was a hull maintenance technician seaman, assigned to Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Great Lakes, McNulty said.
The NMRTC-Great Lakes is in, of course, Chicongo. I am not sure what a “hull maintenance technician seaman” does in Chicago, other than take leave and shoot people in South Carolina. More…
Police said a private charter boat had just docked when a quarrel led to the shooting.
“He started shooting and running backwards,” Evans said.
That is the anatomy of the vast majority of mass shootings in America. Some blacks get into a tussle and one pulls and gun and then starts blasting away randomly. Shooting, I assume one handed, while running backwards would make hitting anything with any level of accuracy very difficult. That didn’t stop Seaman Shawon from doing just that.
Seaman Shawon is all of 19 years so I assume his days of swabbing the poop deck are over but his days of getting his poop deck swabbed are just getting started.
Another brilliant future nipped in the bud. Tragic, tragic. I have no doubt that seaman Shawon Weems had more than ample reason to pull a gun on a party boat and start blasting away. Some manner of disrespect shown him or his navy status would be my guess. An inter-service rivalry with another noble negro serving his country, perhaps.
Fair winds and following seas, sailor. See you in about 15 years, with good behavior. Anchors aweigh and all that.
This is an example of racist educational standards in ‘tha hood”. They could not tell Semen from Seaman.
He might have been squabbling with a 2G in the Coast Guard?
A guaranteed future shoo-in for the admiralty that one. Like to see his face when his mofo cellmate says “hello sailor”!
He looks like he is going to be catching, not pitching
Whose gun was it? Under 21 in Illinois cannot legally own a gun; probably cannot keep one on base there either. So he had to have gotten it n SC while visiting. Unless he retains a SC domicile and license, assuming he was “home* on leave, he couldn’t buy one legally there …lots of questions.
I would guess he hails from SC but was stationed up north, so he was home on leave. Just a guess though
Not to be picky ok I guess I am being so;-) GLNR is north of Chicago. Waukegan being next to it. A long long time ago I performed at a venue called Penny Pinchers in Waukegan
I’m from Indiana, everything in that area is Chicongo to me including Gary, Indiana.
OMFG.
Who’da thunk talking of poopdecks would be inspired commentary?
If they didn’t want people to make sodomy jokes they shouldn’t have called them poop decks
In the Navy
You can sail the seven seas
In the Navy
You can shoot at fellow 2G’s
In the Navy
You can party in old SC
In the Navy
You can enter a guilty plea
In the Navy,
In the Navy
This village idiot should try out for the Village People. Which would be fitting, since whrre he’s going his poop deck is going to get swabbed..
Bwawwhwhwhwhw! Please plaster this 2Gs face and story on every piece of USN recruiting material. Any YT that’s dumb enough to join can find out more about the poop deck.
Isn’t a hull technician a fancy name for a barnacle scraper?
Turd chaser…
Did puppet Zion Dion fire up the Village People for this one?
As they say in the navy, there is no wrong hole.
The first high speed rail will be in chimpcongo so dindus can get to better hunting grounds?
hull maintenance technician: Encompasses all these jobs….
Welders, Pipefitters, Hull Plating Technicians.
Fairly Highly Skilled work, but dirty and noisy too. Lots of Heavy Labor, combined with some really intelligent dedicated Skills.
Not Easy, but not Ultra High IQ either.
But what is he doing in northern Illinois?
He may have been in a medical hold status from recruit training at Great Lakes Naval Training Center – per the command referred to in the news.
He may also have been assigned to further technical schooling at Great Lakes NTC. Many ratings start with “A” schools there.
Arthur,
According to unsubstantiated rumors, our Shawon was up-state looking to get his ‘hull’ polished…
… but it couldn’t be just any polisher…
… hence, the gat.
.
Note:
I have concerns about the spokes-model saying he “…was employed…”, indicating he was working there sometime in the past.
“Seaman Shawon is all of 19 years so I assume his days of swabbing the poop deck are over but his days of getting his poop deck swabbed are just getting started.”
LOL! The ripostes are writing themselves! Doubtless Our GG Swabbie wanted to increase his stature.
Pretty soon his “stature’ will increase–to the diameter of a 16” gun.
“Ouch!”
I’m Shawan the sailor man,
I’m Shawan the sailor man,
I’m stronk to the finitch
’cause I got a glock switch
I’m Shawan the sailor man. Pew pew!
Ha. Nicely played. And that ain’t spinach. Might be collard greens. Or more likely still, a bag of pot.
Haha.
…a switch and a beam
and a new bag of weed,
I’m Shawan the sailor man. Pew! Pew
It works. 🙂
He’ll be maintaining someone’s hull.
