A 20-year-old man was arrested Monday in a shooting last week in Orange Mound that left one man dead, police said.
Deangelo Alford was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death that happened late Friday night on Ethel Street off Park Avenue and Airways Boulevard, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD).
Court records identified the man killed as Anthony Bailey. A witness told investigators that he believed his neighbor, Alford, was upset with Bailey “because of previously purchased pancakes from IHOP that suspect Alford never received,” records allege.
The witness also told investigators that before the shooting, he heard Alford telling Bailey, “I told you (expletive).” Two shots rang out before Alford ran off, records allege.

I am unclear as to what happened with the pancakes but clearly he takes his breakfast foods seriously. Here is the 2G that somehow withheld his pancakes and suffered the consequences.

Can anyone weigh in on the last time they got a decent breakfast at IHOP, or Denny’s or any other chain breakfast restaurant? Its been at least ten years at our house. At least.
Used to be breakfast out was a no brainer-no one could screw it up and no one did. Some was better than others of course, but never outright bad food. We pretty much have given up on breakfast restaurants at this point.
Haven’t set foot in an IHOP in better than 10 years now, but distinctly remember the last trip there was very disappointing. The location closest to me closed up in the middle of COVID (and it was a dive, desperately in need of a remodel and refresh), as did the next closest location I can think of, so I’ve had no real reason to seek one out.
Meanwhile, Denny’s has pretty well turned into garbage. My last trip there, probably a year and a half ago now, wasn’t absolutely awful, but the outing before that wasn’t good at all. Considering the fact that those breakfasts are mostly carbs, I’m not much for eating a big breakfast like that anyway. I like bacon, sausage and eggs, but really need to lay off the pancakes and waffles anymore. The syrup too, for that matter. Since both places are heavily staffed and frequented by 2G’s, that gives me even more reason not to go there.
I concur. I will further state that every food franchise is in a permanent state of deterioration.
Why? IMO, the owner-corporations are in it for the moment–thinking in terms of quarters rather than decades–and will wring the last nickel out of a franchise w/o spending squat on upkeep/remodels.
Which is exactly what the entire nation is doing as well.

Yeah, I had to give up on the pancakes and waffles. Mushroom and cheese omelet with a wee bit of hashbrowns is good enough to be good enough. “Food service”-prefabbed sauces, entrees, sides and what have you has ruined alot of restaurants. All the chains you used to love succumbed eventually to food made in a factory at the lowest cost possible by a bunch of people that could care less if you like it or not. I was in food distribution in the 90’s when it all started and it destroyed many restaurants. Last time I was back in Denver, even some of my formerly-favorite Italian and Mexican joints tucked away in little ethnic neighborhoods had fallen to the lure of cheap food service that requires no skilled labor to heat up and slop onto a plate. Sad.
I remember having a wonderful steak at IHOP about 1997. A year or 2 later I went back to the same IHOP and ordered the same steak and it was awful. Guess I just got lucky that time.
The Waffle Houses in my locality are still quality but in my travels around AINO I can’t say the same of Waffle Houses elsewhere
I will add to that remark about the Waffle House. “Coincidentally,” the local Waffle Houses are still mostly staffed by white folks, whereas the ones I’ve encountered elsewhere with subpar food and service, not so much. If at all.
Not sure why, but have never hit Waffle House. They first came to my area about 10 years ago, I guess I need to make a point of trying to them out. Have seen them in multiple cities while on road trips as well.
It’s a place for quick carbs. Not fancy. Strangely enough I ate there today. First time in about 4 or 5 years. It’s about the same with a more pricey menu.
Denny’s has a reputation for good steaks!?!? I know!!
Moving to Tennessee, first week of Jan., 2015, might have been Midland or Abilene, went to the closest thing to out motel, a Denny’s. The steak was a top 5 best steak ever! I don’t remember the sides, but they were delicious also, it was a wonderful, bright, event. We were thrashed from a Murphy sponsored escape from So. Cal. I swear, Commiefornia has a contract with Satin or a significant Minion, for harassing fugitives escaping The Matrix.
Tennessee, by contrast, has been everything we hoped it would be. Neighbors (don’t know which ones, DRAT!) have full auto fun, a few times a year, but then, it IS a free state and friendly to the 2nd amendment.

I try to frequent either more upscale food places or ones I know dont usually have murder-monkeys in them. Buffalo Wild Wings, all you can eat buffets, any chicken place, most Wendy’s, all McDonalds, are usually full of spades that either frequent those places and/or work there, more than one nigger in any place is too many for me, not that i eat that friggin slop anyway. If i go into any eating establishment and see 2Gs making food, I turn around and walk out. When i travel i will sometimes get waffle house eggs and steak, and its usually late at night. I get it to go, wait in my truck until its ready and go in well armed and get out. Some waffle house restaurants are like fight clubs. Ive been in them twice and both times some nigger is starting shit usually with the staff.
I will say, ive only seen one negroid in Cracker Barrel, he was actually a cool dude, a retired Army MSG. I still wouldnt trust him as far as i could bowl him. 2Gs dont seem to like the boomer infested Cracker Barrel vibe. The food is decent enough for road food.
