Sure a few even doubled down, like Costco and I am cancelling my membership with them, but most places just cut the cord and moved on. The suddenness is what is so odd but if you will recall, when the woke crap started after George Floyd died of heart failure while resisting arrest it was also at lightning speed. Almost like they had it ready to go and just waiting for the right trigger or something.
What triggered the conversation was this: Closure of Ivy Tech’s DEI department will leave 21 people unemployed
Ivy Tech is a network of community colleges across Indiana offering the standard courses that lead to jobs as welders, nurses, electricians, etc. and also is a feeder into four year colleges for those that need a little help getting ready for college. Why would a community college need 21 people across the state for “diversity, equity and inclusion”?
That is a trick question. They didn’t and that is why Ivy Tech got rid of these positions without a fight.
If these were jobs that were actually doing something useful like mowing the lawns or doing building maintenance, you would expect that these colleges would push back but those 21 jobs are absolutely useless, extra expenses that could be used for something else. A lot of colleges are probably quietly happy Trump gave them an excuse to ditch those jobs. They can cut some dead weight but blame Trump for it. Win-win. For a community college to have 21 staff members to push “diversity” is just ridiculous.
I have also noticed that there is a marked decrease in social media virtue signaling for “black History Month” and that nowhere near as many places catering to conservatives were fawning over MLK compared to the prior 3-4 years. The few that did got pretty mercilessly trolled.
Is this a sign that this madness is really being pushed back or just a temporary reprieve? I am leaning toward the latter but maybe I am wrong. It definitely appears that more and more Whites are finally refusing to grovel and are starting to push back on the anti-White nonsense. It is likely too little, too late but I will take what we can get.

My first awareness of the cult of MLK, so to speak, was in 2004. I had a student who opined that George Washington did not deserve to be studied, at all, because he had been a slaveowner. I replied that according to his logic, we should not study Martin Luther King, either, because he was a plagiarist and a philanderer. (Needless to say I had to explain what both these words meant.)
Many years later I ended up in a work situation with a different black student from the same class, and he told me that he had been beside himself when I said that. He said he had wanted to challenge me, but figured he would go home and research it, and come in with the evidence the next day.
Of course, the research confirmed it and he said he had been pretty devasted by the knowledge. For my part, I was stunned to think that this boy (and probably everyone else) had gotten to the 11th grade with the conviction that MLK was a living saint.
And that was 20 years ago; I’m sure it’s even worse now.
It’s been bad since he died; conservacucks love to bring him up as a part of their colorblind shit the most but the left also used him and would never undermine their position with the truth.

All I know is America was a lot better country when we didn’t have all this DEI bullshit. Boy, do I remember grandpa’s 1961 Lark & filling the tank up at an actual Gulf Oil service station at 30 cents a gallon! The attendant actually checked the oil, tire pressure & cleaned both the front & rear windows.
Well, the service station attendants weren’t wearing turbans, and yammering on hands free cell phones in some alien lingo. When I was still working, I used to get gas at a gas and go near our home that was on my way to work. My breaking point came when one of these southwest Asian guys swiped my card in the booth, and then tossed it at me across the counter instead of politely handing it to me. No more, fucker. Of late, I mostly get my gas at a station that is not too far off the beaten path that still employs white high school boys; I pay a bit more, but there is no disrespect with which to contend.

I live in the state of New Jersey, problematic for many reasons, but the citizens of which have been adamant that we don’t want self service gasoline/diesel.
Why force older folks, pregnant women, or mothers with small children, or anyone for that matter, to have to clamber out of their cars to run the pump, perhaps while raining or snowing for extra points? Also, if you wish to use cash, you have to walk in to the building to transact (recall how this furthers the ambition of (((our owners))) to force us toward central bank digital currency?). Further, do you really want to run the risk of contaminating your hands not only with grime, but also possibly the tubercular sputum of a previous user from Shitholistan, or if Muslim their left hand potentially contaminated with the fecal bacteria deposited during cleaning up after an elimination not followed by washing with soap, to smear onto your drooling baby’s mouth? So you have to have a box of effective wet wipes, and their litter in your car after their usage? I sure don’t.
And the argument is always, well, it’s cheaper that way. Well, that’s usually bullshit, and of a piece with the “convenience” of self-checkout at the grocery store. You get to do the work instead of having a quick checkout line where somebody has a job. Oh, I’ve seen how it works, where somebody has to hover over the self-checkout to rescue people from an error like a damaged barcode, or worse yet, where the counter clerk has to make you wait at the counter while they intercede to do the same. What it comes down to is self-punking, cheaper prices, convenience, somebody having a job turns out to be a burnt offering on the altar of Moloch because the alternative of Christian charity and comity with our lesser brethren doesn’t comport with the greed heads’ vision of anti-society.

You actually got service at a service station & the attendant was for the most part, courteous & competent. Even both shithouses in most service stations were clean, stocked with toilet paper & towels & sanitized.

Prior to fueling, I slip my active hand into a produce bag from the grocery.
My non-active hand stays in my pocket or behind my back for less opportunity of contamination.
That is a viable work around. You could also carry a box of latex gloves in your vehicle. I carry them against the day that deploying the spare tire becomes necessary. They fit better, making you more assuredly dexterous than a plain produce/bread bag. They also offer another advantage in that when done, you can grab the cuff, tug it off, and it inverts, trapping whatever vile effluvia with which it is contaminated within, ready to be dropped into a waste can by the pump. No method is without its point(s) of failure, however.
And yeah, I live in NJ, so regardless of the regs concerning gas/diesel/kerosene dispensing being only by station employees, it still has its downside. But my wife has a good career at a law library at a major university, and we live in the house my dad designed lo these many years ago which we love.
There is much hectoring about getting out of blue states, but with our circumstances and ages, pulling up stakes and moving? Well, just not so sure about the practicality, or indeed the probity of that choice. Maybe it ends badly, but I always remember the line delivered by Clint Eastwood. The DEI college hire stories are legion now, but I’m going to share another:
The junior college in Rochester, Minnesota installed a DEI woman as President. From the start it was obvious, even to the governing board, that she was a huge mistake. She couldn’t run a roadside watermelon stand, much less a school. But they were stuck with her.
The college is about to celebrate its 100th anniversary and she is burning through money for the occasion. There would be much more than just free coffee and cookies for the week. She went and got for the college something that every college needs: an “Official School Necklace”. Yes, an Official School 100th Anniversary Necklace by God! By mere coincidence, the artist who got the $40,000 commission (yep, $40k) to create this necklace was the school president’s best friend.
She explained to the governing board that this was not “her necklace”, but rather ” the Official School 100th Anniversary Necklace”, by God! Well, this was the last straw for the dear president. They got rid of her by finding her a spot in the State University system and sold it to her as a promotion.
So however proud you may be of your alma mater, I bet it doesn’t have an Official School Necklace like mine does. By God!
