Pulling back into the driveway this morning, the classic rock morning DJ was recounting one of those funny stories of criminal wackiness from Florida. It wasn’t a Florida man this time but a Florida woman, and they are just as unpredictable.
The story revolved around a woman who got into a verbal altercation at a McDonald’s, pulled a gun and threatened to shoot three people because she thought they were pointing at her (they weren’t) and ended up shooting….her own 15 year old daughter in the shoulder.
Now there were no additional details to the story, this is radio after all. No obviously black name, in fact I later found her name is Melissa. Just from the story itself I was nearly 100% confident of my assumption so before I even went into the house I searched for the story and found it quickly. Sho’nuff…..
Well of course.
The sequence of events is probably the most scholarly thing you will read today….
Mom pulls gun on Lyft car in McDonald’s parking lot – but ends up accidentally shooting daughter
According to the arrest affidavit, the teenager and her mom were in the restaurant along with another group prior to the incident.
When a Lyft arrived, one member of a group waiting on the ride told police they were pointing outside to alert the group the Lyft had arrived. (Melissa) Valbrum’s daughter said a member of the group was pointing at Valbrum.
This led to an argument inside the restaurant that later continued outside. By that time, the three members of the group were inside the rideshare.
Valbrum then allegedly retrieved a gun from her vehicle and began threatening to “shoot and kill” all three of them while pointing the firearm in their direction, the affidavit stated. As the Lyft drove off, the passengers heard a gunshot and saw the teen had been shot.
The Lyft driver told police that Valbrum was acting “extremely aggressive” while pointing a gun at him and other members of the group. He also told police that he saw Valbrum reach inside his car and allegedly assault one of the passengers – also a minor.
It sounded to me like the other group was a gaggle of girls, probably all teens. Even if they had been pointing at her, which they were not, what the hell would cause an adult human being to escalate that into threatening to kill them and waving a gun around? That was a trick question.
Brandishing a firearm is considered a felony in most jurisdictions and as the gunshot victim was a minor I expect they can prosecute Melissa even if the teen doesn’t press charges. With any luck Melissa will be in the slammer for a while but it just goes to show that black criminal behavior is so ubiquitous that you can tell from a story without any details when it involves a black person.
Lyft and Uber should award hazardous duty pay to drivers who must venture into No [White] Man’s Land for a pickup or drop off. And they should certainly allow their non-black drivers to carry.
OT – Do the pol-leeze make sheboons like Valbrum pull off dey nasty weaves for mugshots? I see so many mugs of black females with that short-cropped rug, but few of them out in the wild with so little head hair. If they can insist on weave-less mugshots for the water buffaloes, can they insist that muslim goats remove their hijabs and burkas? Could be some cybil riots violations there.
Far be it from me to suggest that blacks not be allowed (by law) to own/carry firearms.
My suggestion encompasses & pre-empts gun ownership by blacks: they should not be able to enter public spaces at all!
One exception: whenever they are conducting themselves to any airport for the purposes of permanent migration to any African nation.*
*Said nation being a haven of perfection, modernity and diversity, equity & inclusion; a place where every returning black will be welcomed into the Brotherhood of Blacks, there, to join with their fellow blacks to continue the triumphs of a Wakanda-like State of Being that is truly the Role Model for the entire world.
We–the “not black” peoples of These United States of America–will try to function, to attempt to scrape out our dismal existences while bereft of the achievements, the innovation and the uplifting hope for the future that blacks provide to us every day.
In the end, restoring all blacks to their ancestral lands, there to flourish in all their glory, is the moral and right thing to do.
Incidents like the above, wherein a female black feels the need to brandish a firestick, are merely the outward signs of the “displacement stress” that all blacks feel; when repatriated to their native habitats, said stress dissipates rapidly, allowing the nobility and majesty of the black race to rise to the surface, free of all taint of White privilege and claims of White supremacy.
“We Wuz Kangs ‘n’ Sheeeeeit” is not just a slogan. It is the clarion call for all blacks to gather to The Dark Continent. Surely, in time, Africa will be called–in awe and envy– “The Enlightened Continent.”

The only surprising part of the story is that the daughter didn’t pull a gat and mag dump (in thy general direction).
