Charlie Daniels Would Not Be Amused

Recall back to this post a little over a month ago, The Devil Went Down To Georgia…And Got Shot At A Block Party. That mass shooting in Vienna, Georgia is the current leader on the body count tally. There was some initial confusion regarding the total shot because a bunch of people got injured fleeing, and 2Gs getting run over while fleeing a 2G shooting is one my favorite parts, but as of now the count is 28 total shot, with a whopping 2 killed (Ja’Quavion Aderious Jackson, 21, and Macaleb Malik Jackson, 23). Nice shooting fellas. I wonder who it could be?

The police have been rounding up homies and they are all of the prototypical Usual Suspect kind. Six were recently arrested: More arrests made in deadly Vienna mass shooting investigation; 2 on the run

• Keontae Towns, 16, of Cordele

The bottom two porch monkeys were previously arrested, Kelcey Smith, 36, and Johntavirous Robinson, 40. Seriously, 40? Dude looks older than me, high af and like he couldn’t spell cat. Also “Johntavirous” sounds like some sort of ghetto respiratory virus.

Not all of those arrested are necessarily shooters, they were busted for felons with a firearm or gang activity of some sort. I assume the prosecutors are dangling deals and somebody is squealing.

With the year winding down it will be tough to beat 28 shot unless we get lucky.

I wanted to toss out an honorable mention to a different mass shootings that took place on November 1st in the Dallas “Deep Ellum” neighborhood with 14 people shot, none fatally. Two 2Gs have been arrested, Treyveion Demby and David Yancy, and Yancy was caught on video racking a round into his gun and then shooting. Apparently he doesn’t carry with one in the chamber. I did want to give him a shout out though for unusually good marksmanship as the media pointed out….

Almost 2/3 of his shots hit someone, likely none were his intended target but at least he didn’t waste the ammo. Good job David!

With 407 mass shootings on the board, this year likely will surpass 2019’s 414 but will still be the fewest mass shootings since that year, the eve of the 2020 Summer of Love and four straight years of 600+ mass shootings. With 53 days to go in the year I am going to guess we end at 442 mass shootings in 2026. Let’s see how close I get.
