I will be honest, in all of the excitement I sort of forgot that the Libertarian Party even bothered to run a candidate for President this year. Then I saw this tweet and was reminded…
Holy crap, how could I forget Chase Oliver, an open borders advocate faggot who somehow ended up with the Libertarian Party nomination? He attracted such little attention after being roundly mocked when winning the nomination that I simply didn’t even think to see how the little pole smoker did so I checked. He did….not do well. At all.
Less than one half of one percent. He did worse than perennial Green Party candidate Jill Stein and even did worse than RFK Jr who dropped out of the race and endorsed Trump. It was also a big drop off from dingbat Jo Jorgensen in 2020 and pothead Gary Johnson (I voted for him) in 2016….
If you pulled less than half the support Jo Jorgensen managed, and no one has heard of her outside of kooky libertarian circles, then you can officially be labelled a shitty candidate.
I am hopeful that this signifies that more libertarians are figuring out that the national Libertarian Party isn’t really libertarian, it is just potheads and faggots that want lower taxes and that libertarianism taken to it’s logical extreme would be impossible to make work in the sort of “diverse” nation we now live in.
Thanks Chase Oliver for taking time out of sucking dicks to wreck the last vestiges of the libertarianism as a political movement.
Just too bad his name isnt “Chase Johnson”.
Zing!
Yup, time to stick a fork in it.
It still cost at least one House seat that went back to a Democrat because the Libertarian drew enough votes to sink the Republican.
I remember years ago, when the culture war was already over but we still thought we had a seat at the table, the phrasing of the defeated included things like “socially liberal but fiscally conservative” or “spiritual but not religious”.
I was young but still embarrassed to admit I got caught up in that nonsense. It’s basically the college freshman philosophy of everything. “I want to get laid, but I don’t want the dirty hippies to take all my money after the free love at the music festival.”
This was likely peak libertarianism. The luxury beliefs you can carry around because you live in a high trust society. Something in common with the libtards.
We could keep on believing that there was some middle ground to be found with the progressive death cult because the middle class was huge and could absorb a lot of nonsense. Just like the local high school could absorb the one or maybe two nogs on the sportsball team because their talented ‘nth parents lived like Whites.
Now it should be clear there is no middle ground. But is should also be clear that the middle could not hold after losing the culture war and so it did not hold. There are no more “good schools” neighborhoods that can absorb what is already baked in.
In the void rushed in three new continents of invaders. Our worst nightmare of $5 heads of lettuce was eclipsed by grand-pet babies, incels, institutionalized legal White hate, and economy based entirely on vampire middlemanning, financial engineering, a never-ending debt jubilee, and market manipulation ponzis.
While its good to see the delusion of libertarianism fail to survive contact with reality, it is still a huge step for those who still want to hold onto the past – and who want to retain all the gibs of progress without paying the tab, to take the next step and become explicitly pro Heritage American with all the hateful badthink and social and economic damages that entails.
Not holding my breath on that. The next step it seems is Saint Elons magic bus to mars. Brain chip required.
Libertarianism is a fun philosophy to talk about over coffee but is not a serious political movement
Thing is there is still a lot of people on our side that think it could work no matter how hard they are shown it’s a joke for the country in this day and age…
I have tried explaining why stuff like open borders would be the death of libertarianism, alas in vain
On the one hand, Libertarianism can appear interesting as it would seem to advocate for less government, ending the Federal Reserve (which should be either done or restructured on a regional basis), and less intrusion into our personal lives. But at the end of the day, I think it’s just greedy people wanting to turn their employees into serfs to benefit only themselves. That and marijuana smokers. The open border thing is the kicker. That’s just turning people into lowest wage slaves.
It has shifted hard to pot heads in the last decade
Employers have never been more that a trace component of the Libertarian Party. Like our host says, it’s been potheads since at least the late 70s. True, Koch had a dalliance with the LP, but even die-hards lie El Neil thought it was probably dead in ’76. Since then, the LP has always viewed itself as a spoiler, trying to punish what they thought the worst of the parties. Which was usually Republicans.
I’ve done my best talking about borders and abortion and weed and such, to no avail. It’s not been talking to employers, but rank and file, who are mostly fat incels who can’t concentrate without another toke.
Yeah, I would say to my buds, “I’m a libertarian (small R) that votes mostly Republican”.
Yeesh, I must confess it’s embarrassing. The chimp riots lifted that fake and gay burden off my shoulders.
I want my own native land with White people populating it. I’d prefer White Christians, but even if they’ve not Believers, at least they’re White and they won’t fuck with me, my fambly or properly.

How.do you realistically see that happening because I’ve been trying to get people to follow the Butler plan for years and not many people see the need to do anything yet so just wondering if any have a better plan than magic…
Brother, you’re actually doing the work, and you are making a difference.
Great men plant trees in whose shade they know they shall never sit.
LOL I went into forestry because trees>people, and planting the seedlings of discontent is easy away from “civilization” due to everybody having to live in the real world.
That and it’s hard to create an abbatis in built-up areas.
Libertarianism is a total waste of money, effort and thought.
I would recommend that all Libertarians simply pool their opinions and back the candidate who best aligns with their beliefs; then throw their votes to said candidate and, in return, ask for a seat at the table to help the Overton Window encompass some of what’s important to them.
Run Honk Honkler or something to make it interesting.
The UNI would never let anyone near the applecart that isn’t Grand Old Politburo (R) or CPUSA (D), direct shekel trough access is something they’ll burn the world down to keep.
I’d never heard of this “candidate” until now.
I can bust out the Fallout limited edition Z flag it looks like, hopefully it won’t be as SARMAT comes in to take out MIC sites.
I’m way behind on bunker, hazmat suit, red wine & kelp. (s/)
If memory serves old dementia patient Joe never pulled much above 5% for the (D) POTUS prelims???? Anyone that can please correct me but that is what I recall. Another one of those hokey steaming equine excrement stories that somehow Joe got more “votes” from dead people in 2020 than Cankles did in 2016. Yep pull my other finger.
I’ve never had any use for libertarianism because almost everyone I’ve encountered who espouses that philosophy is a degenerate. The first words out of their mouths are always legalizing whatever drugs they happen to be using at the time.
My response has always been, “With all of the immediate and serious problems in this country, if this is the first thing you want done, do all of the adults a favor and stay the fuck away from a voting booth.”
I call bs on him taking time off. That is probably why no one heard of him.
I call libertarians, libertarians. Hey great coffeehouse blather that doesn’t make it to reality.
Since they’re starting to legalize Weed, the Libertarian party lost it’s main selling point.
