Another One Off The Toledo Bucket List

In my quest to do things in the Toledo area that I did not as a yoof, like going to a Toledo Mud Hens game, my wife and I went to the Lake Erie island of Put-in-Bay yesterday.

Put-in-Bay is a small island north of Catawba Island and Port Clinton Ohio, basically equidistant from Toledo and Cleveland and close to the Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio (home to the fictional Callahan Auto in Tommy Boy). It is reached by ferry for most people, including us….

That photo is from the afternoon, it was sunny but chilly and a mostly calm ride. The morning ride? It was overcast and cold and the lake was very choppy so it was a bumpy ride. We sat on the back deck outside both ways and in addition to the chop, right before the ship departed (and I mean right at the departure time), a whole crowd of blacks clambered aboard and parked their ample asses right with us. Of course they made a ruckus the entire 30 minute trip, hooting and capering like a troop of chimpanzees while the White people on board sat quietly and tried to enjoy the trip. I tried to take a video of the island as we approached Put-in-Bay so you could get a sense of how rough the water was and you can hear the blacks making a ruckus in the background…..

Lovely. They really didn’t stop yapping for the entire trip, like toddlers they just have to make noise simply for the sake of making noise. I can’t understand why anyone would not embrace the glories of diversity and recognize how blacks enhance every aspect of our lives. One fat black chick sat right behind me with her weave blowing into me, it was a horrible ride over. On the way back the only blacks were a quiet older couple and it was much nicer.

Put-in-Bay was once known as a historical spot as the location of the Lake Erie naval victory in the war of 1812 by Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry who famously had a battle flag that read “Don’t Give Up The Ship”…

…and after defeating the British forces sent a message reporting his victory to Major General (and future President) William Henry Harrison that began with these famous words “We have met the enemy and they are ours”. The victory is commemorated by Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial….

A 352 foot tall monument (taller than the Statue of Liberty) that stands over the remains of 3 American and 3 British Naval officers. The Battle of Lake Erie, or the Battle of Put-in-Bay, wasn’t a large naval engagement by most standards but it was important for control of the lake in the War of 1812. It was an important battle in the area I grew up in and one of my high school alma mater’s rivals is Perrysburg, a town that sits across the Maumee River from our school district and was named after Commodore Perry. Perrysburg is home to Fort Meigs, a required field trip when we were in school that everyone pretended was very lame. In an amusing twist the marching band from Anthony Wayne, the Marching Generals, were on the island performing. Normally they wear very heavy and hot wool uniforms but on Saturday were in shorts and t-shirts on a blustery and chilly day. Both of my sisters were Marching Generals and the band is near and dear to the hearts of my family.

Anyway that is mostly interesting to people from Northwest Ohio where battles in the War of 1812 were fought as well as the Indian wars including the pivotal battle of Fallen Timbers in 1794 where General “Mad Anthony” Wayne broke the resistance of the Indians in the area. As I have mentioned I went to Anthony Wayne High School and Fallen Timbers Middle School and now live close to Fort Wayne, Indiana so these events are pretty important in our local culture.

Put-in-Bay now is mostly a party island where people go to get hammered. The streets are full of golf carts of all shapes and sizes whipping up and down the street and lots and lots of bars and wineries for people to get loaded up. It was a Saturday in September so the Buckeye faithful were all decked out in scarlet and gray and acting as silly as one would expect from Ohio State fans. It is not a place I am likely to visit again but I am glad we had a reason to go.

As one who grew up in Perrysburg, the field trip to Fort Meigs was mandatory just about annually. After 5 or so years, it did become lame to the rich kids (our host can vouch that Perrysburg had list of them, just not me). I can attest that Put-in-Bay was much nicer in the 80s. We went on a field trip in 1984 and it was really nice. I went again in 1999 with my in-laws and it was just as described above, full of places to get hammered. It did still have a Sohio, so that was a plus.

I was wondering why a bunch of niggers would actually pay dey money to boat over to what looks to be an all-White island with an all-White history but the last paragraph answered it. Guess the bars and wineries will sell out on Hennessy, Cisco, Colt 45 and Mad Dog.
The all-White high school band must have triggered them somewhat. White nigger-ball fans are disgusting!

A few years ago we were in a very nice restaurant in Las Vegas. Some type of pool party had just ended and most of the attendees sauntered down into the casino where the restaurant was located. We were seated next to a table of eight. The males spoke in low tones, occasionally bursting out in laughter. The females simply shrieked constantly. Our table could not hold a conversation. Of the six in our group, I was the only one that thought they were doing all of the yelling on purpose. Specifically to our detriment.

They probably were not doing it deliberately. That assumes a certain awareness of people around them and how their behavior impacts others. I don’t think that’s usually present.

Thanks for sharing. Growing up not too far just south of Toledo I remember reading about the islands of Lake Erie but never made it.

My wife and I went about 8 or 9 years ago and stayed at a BnB on Kelley’s Island. It was nice and quiet as it doesn’t have all the places niggers would go to chimp.

We took a day ferry out to Put-In and went up the monument and checked out the museum. Its was pretty neat. And I wouldn’t mind going back.

Niggers started to take over PIB in the past 5-10 years, we don’t go anymore. They even cancelled the “Christmas in July” thing because monkeys can’t behave.

Try Kelly’s sometime, or if you want to go straight up rustic, North Bass is great for camping on the beach. There’s NOTHING up there, we love it.

Also, air taxi FTW. Why boat with spooks when you can be up there in under 10 min in a cessna? They even allow dogs.

Blacks really are just louder. Why, I don’t know, although there are certainly exceptions. I’ve mentioned before that I was a high school teacher for a good amount of time, and I have never forgotten the day, way back when, when a very large proportion of our black population stayed out of school because of the Million Man March – remember that?

As the day went on, we commented to each other that something seemed different but we couldn’t figure out what it was….Finally dawned on us that it was so…quiet….
