Muncie, Indiana is a small city about halfway between Fort Wayne and Indianapolis. It is the home of Ball State University, a MAC school and the Alma mater of David Letterman. It sounds like a White bread kind of town but it actually tends to have a ton of crime despite a relatively low population of dusky hued scholars. Not just crime but violent crime including quite a few murders.
A recent shooting has garnered a lot of attention because a mere baby was killed, the “baby” in question being 15.
Teen shot to death in Muncie, 5 arrested
When police arrived at the scene, they located 15-year-old LataJohne Phillips, who was suffering from gunshot wounds to his left leg and head. Phillips was subsequently transported to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
Court records indicate Phillips was later transferred from Ball Memorial Hospital to Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office reported Phillips’ death around 2 p.m. Thursday. The coroner preliminarily ruled Phillips’ death a homicide.
LataJohne? I won’t even attempt to guess how that was pronounced. The two that were arrested and named because they were not minors were Dasha Lanise Eckford and Ricky Riheem Nathan, both 19 and a couple of handsome specimens.
I have no idea what is going on with her hair and the dude, Ricky Riheem, is 19 but looks like a 45 year old alcoholic.
As a “baby” was killed, minding his own bidness no doubt, the typical nonsense is being spewed by local “activists” like this from “WaTasha Barnes Griffin” who styles herself “the chair of the Indiana Black Expo Muncie Chapter”. More on that in a moment but as is always the case, WaTasha here basically blames White people for not giving blacks enough free shit and not making it harder for White people to buy guns that are later stolen by blacks and used in crimes…..
“We have to acknowledge that gun violence really, like overwhelmingly and disproportionately affects our community,” said WaTasha Barnes Griffin, the chair of the Indiana Black Expo Muncie Chapter. “Delaware County has less than 8% black and brown individuals, but we’re almost 70% of the gun violence[that] happens within our community. We have to look at the lack of investment in the communities of color coupled with weak gun laws. It has resulted in incidents of violence in our community.”

She straight up went to 8 does 70, only 8% of Delaware County being black but those blacks committing 70% of the “gun violence” but then with the single most important factor staring her in the face, blacks resorting to shooting each other over just about anything, she then pivots to blaming “weak gun laws” and a “lack of investment” in “communities of color”. Lack of investment is code for “getting more money for my non-profit organization”.
Indiana is generally a very pro-2nd Amendment state and there are lots of guns here, but for some reason those guns seem to mostly be used for naughtiness by blacks who make up just under 10% of the population of the Hoosier state. On the other hand we do have all sorts of laws making it illegal to shoot each other but those laws don’t seem to dissuade people like Ricky Riheem from shooting “babies” anyway.
What kind of a doorknob talks about her own people being the ones mostly responsible for gun violence but then blames the lack of stricter gun laws? WaTasha Barnes Griffin, that is who, and she is a delight for the eyes.
