One of my wholesale distributors of ammo sent out an email with this subject line:
Ammo and MREs are SELLING OUT! Low stock on MRE Pallets+ 22LR is THIN, 556 is Moving Fast, and 9mm is hard to get! Get what you can!
Great, people are panic buying already because…well Democrats are going to control the House and Senate in a couple of months. That sounds bad and you can be sure they will be trying to pass “assault weapons bans” and other nonsense but I don’t anticipate them blowing up the filibuster yet and Trump still has the veto and we have the least awful director of the ATF in living memory so I doubt much will happen before 2029. Granted Trump is awfully unreliable on gun rights because he doesn’t care about them but still he seems to be a lot better this time around (and that is the only thing you can say that about).
It is good news for FFLs I guess, people will also be buying guns, but really is this a time to panic?
I have been telling people for years were are in a golden age of gun buying and that has only accelerated of late with the ATF rulings on suppressors and short barreled rifles/shotguns. We won’t see any legislative gains for the 2A during the next Congress but it wasn’t like we were seeing any legislative gains under the last one thanks to the “leadership” of Thune and Li’l Mike Johnson.
The primary gripe for me is ammo prices which stubbornly refuse to come down, especially 5.56/.223 which can’t seem to break that $.40/round barrier.
Gun rights group love this because it is a great opportunity to fundraise. I support their work but at their core all advocacy groups on every side are driven by fundraising, whether they are gun rights or anti-abortion or environmental or whatever. The National Association for Gun Rights is acting like Congressman Jaime Ratskin, er Raskin, as revolting a rodent as you can find anywhere, is going to get this passed through both chambers and signed into law.
My advice? Do what you should have been doing already, stacking ammo in a calm and organized manner, upgrading your firearms as needed and when it makes financial sense, making sure your accessories are up to snuff and most of all (especially to me) practicing with what you have instead of daydreaming about buying something else.
They want to you disarmed for the same reason they fight so hard for the right to murder babies in the womb. They’re COWARDS and they love to murder defenseless victims. Make no mistake, the left is evil, personified. You saw it when they murdered Charlie. You saw it during the “summer of love”. How many more examples will be required?
