More Solid Sportsmanship

If you are a White guy still finding his primary identity in sports, I don’t have much hope for you.

As I was starting this post I had a few examples but it seemed like every time I glanced at Twitter I saw more, like this one….

Somali gangs blamed for shooting at suburban Minneapolis homecoming game that left 2 wounded, fans fleeing in panic

Is there anything more vintage Americana than Somali gangs shooting at each other during a high school homecoming football game?

Somali gangs are being blamed for a shooting outside a homecoming game in a quiet Minneapolis suburb that left two people wounded, according to reports — and resulted in celebrations being canceled.

Shooting broke out shortly before 9 p.m. Friday local time at Eden Prairie High School during a homecoming game against Minnetonka, sending thousands of panicked spectators running for the exits, FOX 9 reported….

…Two Somali nationals aged 17 and 18 who were known to cops were wounded in the shooting in the parking lot at the school’s Aerie Stadium, the Eden Prairie Police Department said in a statement Saturday afternoon.

Police believe the shooting was related to beef between local Somali immigrant gangs, sources told Fox 9.

Eden Prairie is supposedly 70% White and only 7% black but there is a large “Asian” population, around 14%, that I am guessing is not made up of South Koreans.

In a non-shooting football story there is one Dylan Stewart, an “Edge” DL for the South Carolina Gamecocks. Considered a likely Top 10 draft pick, he was recently suspended for (among other things) punching an Alabama player in the helmet, which is super smart. Prior to that he refused to come out of the game when his sub was sent it, went and sat by himself, argued with coaches and pantomimed shooting an opposing player after a tackle. On the other hand, Stewart went from “suspended indefinitely” to “suspended for one whole game”. That is what happens when you have a situation in which coaches are afraid to discipline players because a player like Stewart, a junior, can either declare for the draft if he is unhappy or just transfer somewhere else and get paid. A 6’5” 250 guy who can get to the QB is going to make millions even if he acts like an asshole.

Here are some “parents” chimping out at a 8 year old peewee football fame, complete with an obese ghettopotamus with 8 inches of flabby cricket ass crack hanging out.

You probably saw the classy “celebrations” from the Texas players during their win over Tennessee…’

Texas AD calls football viral celebrations ‘embarrassing’

In the 20-17 road win over the Volunteers, star defensive lineman Colin Simmons got flagged after recording a sack for “simulating using the restroom” in his celebration. Later in the game, running back Raleek Brown celebrated a touchdown by running his hand through his crotch, sniffing his hand and pretending to pass out, which he said he got from a TikTok dance. Brown was not flagged on the play.

Classy, although predictable primate behavior. Nothing will happen to either player of course. Colin Simmons had 12 sacks last year and already has 7.5 this year in just 4 games as a junior, no way he gets suspended.

In a more serious example….

Girl, 12, killed, 3 adults shot before Baltimore youth football game: police

It was a youth football game in Baltimore and a couple of black guys got into an argument over a parking spot and started shooting. The 12 year old girl, Khloe Ishway, was hit by a stray bullet while trying to get back into the car after the shooting started, the bullet nicked an artery and she died at the hospital. Having a “Peace Walk” at the Muslim Community Center is pretty ironic.

One black guy has been charged, 23 year old Tyree Reynolds, and he was just released from prison on September 25th after serving a whole 5 years of a 15 year sentence. That means he was sent to prison when he was 18 so it is safe to assume he has a lengthy juvenile criminal record as well. He managed a trifecta in 2021 by being arrested on three separate occasions.

How about a couple of brawls among players?

Carroll player, Assumption fan face pending charges after postgame fight

Several football players, including one from Carroll, were ejected during the game for unsportsmanlike conduct, the teams had to be separated during handshakes and there was a disturbance between Carroll’s coaches, law enforcement said. However, Assumption head football coach Will Broussard said game officials cancelled the handshake with about eight seconds left in the game and ended the game. When asked what started the tension, Broussard said Carroll was pentalized several times near the end of the game, but did not confirm if that was the reason.

According to APSO, the fight started when several Carroll players rushed the gate near Assumption fans following the game. Deputies said they needed to break the fight up with tasers. Several people had minor cuts and scrapes. Broussard said the Carroll coaches escorted the Bulldogs off the field and into the parking. He said there were two deputies on the Assumption side of the field during the game, but did not know for sure if they helped in escorting the team off the field.

Carroll High School is in Monroe, LA and shockingly is 97% black. To the east a bit and the state of Florida where the scholar-athletes of Deltona High and Matanzas High put on a display of sportsmanship….

Brawl breaks out after Deltona victory at Matanzas; coaches, police intervene

A brawl that lasted about 90 seconds broke out Thursday night during the traditional handshake-exchange line following the Deltona High at Matanzas High football game.

Deltona coach Matt Martin, whose team won the game 21-12, told the Daytona Beach News-Journal that a Matanzas player shoved one of his players as the teams exchanged handshakes and then took the player to the ground. What ensued was a melee between players from both teams.

I didn’t find any back up for this one, or when it happened but still throwing it out there…

The problem of course isn’t sports as such, in an all White country you wouldn’t see the shootings and the brawls like this. In their proper context sports can be a great way for young people to build character and stay in shape. In a country full of subs, it turns into yet another opportunity to act like idiots.
