Parents of teen killed in Toledo shooting speak out
The teen in question is 17 year old Zayona Jackson and she was killed in the crossfire of two men shooting at each other in East Toledo at the Weiler Homes. Weiler Homes are administered by the Lucas Metropolitan Housing Authority, in other words they are a housing project as you could guess from pictures that could have been a scene in The Wire….
East Toledo is almost without exception an absolute dump. It isn’t a separate city, just a neighborhood in Toledo with crappy houses, projects and stinky refineries and it puts the “hood” in “neighborhood”. When we were first married (and I was still in college) my wife and I lived in an apartment in East Toledo and my vehicles were broken into multiple times so we got the hell out of there.
Anyway, here is what happened to Zayona according to the Toledo police:
Toledo police say Zayona Jackson was attending a vigil at the Weiler Homes with friends when a person outside the group attempted to rob someone in the crowd. A member of the friend group drew a weapon, and both men opened fire. Zayona Jackson was not the intended target, according to official reports, and was caught in the crossfire….
….Sonya Ballez, Zayona Jackson’s mother, described the moments leading up to the shooting, saying her daughter was at the vigil with a friend when someone approached the group.
“One guy tried to rob another guy, and they shot at each other and my daughter was the one in the crossfire,” Ballez said. “A bullet doesn’t have no name. It goes wherever it wants. It shot my baby. It killed her.”
So some kind of vigil in the projects, probably for someone else killed, and someone decides to rob one of the attendees, guns are pulled and shooting follows. Of course the person killed was just some random girl instead of one of the shooters. Her mama Sonya seems to think bullets are sentient and “goes wherever it wants”, which conveniently ignores things like physics.
The alleged killer is one Swayvone Morgan…
Swayvone here was shooting at a fleeing car and instead hit Zayona smack dab in the chest.
Charing [sic] records allege Morgan fired a gun multiple times at a fleeing vehicle. One of those rounds struck Jackson.
To make it even better, Swayvone is a friend of Zayona’s family.
Ballez said Morgan and her daughter had been close friends for years.
“He loves her. They love each other. He calls me mom, that’s his sister. I call him my son, and I know he’s going through something right now, too,” Ballez said.
Nothing say love like accidentally shooting your “sister” in a fit of rage. Now at 23 and charged with murder Swayvone is looking at a long stretch in the penitentiary.
A vigil in the project at one in the morning. An attempted robbery that turns into gunfire. A random 17 year old black female hit by a friend shooting at a fleeing car.
Now THAT is ghetto af.
Ain’t a situation known to man where 2 niggers can’t imagineer a reason to turn it into a murder scene. Sub-simian fucks.
Having a ‘vigil’ in the middle of the night at a housing project ?? That right there is a literal prescription for violence. That’s just begging for it. You would think that even blacks would be smart enough to stay away. One would especially think that the organizers of the ‘vigil’ would at least know better than to have it in the middle of the night. At a housing project. The result was predictable.
