One dead, two hurt after shooting near Ville Platte homecoming game
One person is dead and at least two others are injured after gunfire erupted near the Ville Platte High School football stadium during Friday night’s homecoming game.
The shooting happened in the second quarter of the game, sending fans in the stands running for safety.
Church Point was leading 14-0 at the time of the shooting. Game officials canceled the remainder of the game once the gunfire rang out.
Extra security was on hand for the game, including patrols from Louisiana State Police.
The announcers seem pretty chill about this, more worried about the delay of game penalty.

The opposing team that got on their busses and skedaddled the hell outta there was Church Point and maybe they should reconsider their schedule next year.
