A shootout inside Washington Park left one man dead and 13 others injured Saturday night, according to Chicago police, putting it in a tie as the city’s worst shooting of the year.
Chicago police officers were already in the area monitoring a planned gathering in the park near the 5400 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue when multiple gunmen began shooting around 11:37 p.m., police said. Officers immediately reported “nonstop” gunfire over their radios as people ran for cover.
“They’re still shooting,” one officer said as the gunfire continued.
Cops were right there and they started shooting each other anyway.

Also, during the afternoon update, Steve Wilson, the police director for Trenton, New Jersey, said there was little to share as the investigation was still “in its infancy.”
Wilson said police were aware of the gathering and had been out to the area several times overnight. There may have even been police present at the scene when the shooting occurred, he said.
“That has yet to be confirmed, but I believe that’s where it’s going,” he said.
As a bonus, the mayor of Trenton did the meme!
In a statement on social media, Trenton Mayor W. Reed Gusciora said one of the victims who died — though the mayor did not provide additional identifying information — had recently returned to the community after a period of incarceration.
“We understand that one of the individuals who lost his life had been working to turn his life around after returning home from incarceration and had recently been recognized for his commitment to reentry and positive change,” the mayor wrote in a statement.

Working to turn his life around means he hadn’t been arrested yet after being released from prison.

National guard? Really, having lived and worked there in the past I’d say the south side needs to be fire bombed Dresden style. That would go a long way to solving the problem.
Keep in mind the NG has its fair share of 2Gs (male and female). I saw this years ago when I was an active Army Reservist going through the local NCO Academy in SoCal. And it proved itself a few years later in LA during the Rodney King Chimp-Out. Some NGs joined the looters and got caught. You will not get co-ethnics to turn on one another. They will just turn on Whites. Plan accordingly.
They did that back in ’67 & ’68 as I recall. Some actually socialized so to speak with the looters & rioters. More than likely, the NG will be worthless when the system finally collapses & the really big shit show kicks off. Get out of the cities before it arrives.
Looking at the present state of the active duty military (as has been revealed by the FUSA FAFO with Iran), I can’t the NG (which, oddly enough, is one vowel away from NIG) will be useful at much. And the way they’ve been treated and equipped in recent domestic deployments (remember them sleeping on the concrete deck of a parking garage in DC, and without live ammo or decent food, when the whole damned place was fenced off expecting an insurrection a few years ago?) they haven’t any incentive do do a decent and effective job.
Ultimately, I expect them to be a paper tiger, there to maintain the illusion of force projection, but with no real ass behind it.
