US sailor sentenced to 44 years for killing fellow Navy member Angelina Resendiz in his Virginia barracks room
A US sailor was sentenced to 44 years in prison for strangling his fellow Navy member, whose body was found in a wooded area of Virginia.
Petty Officer Jermiah Copeland pleaded guilty Tuesday in connection with the death of Petty Officer Angelina Resendiz at a general court-martial in Norfolk, Va., the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) announced Tuesday.
Petty Officer Copeland is black and Petty Officer Resendiz is a mestizo of some sort. She was messing around with a 2G and the results were predictable….
Copeland told investigators that Resendiz, 21, was in his barracks in Miller Hall on Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, hanging out, drinking, and kissing on May 29, 2025, when she got upset about something on his phone, according to USNI News.
He admitted that he jumped on top of Resendiz and strangled her when she “started freaking out” and he tried to quiet her down.
Fellas, when your lady starts to freak out don’t tell her to calm down. Jump on top of her and strangle her to death! As an aside, what is the mestizo version of a mudshark?

Officials had questioned Copeland over Resendiz’s whereabouts on June 1, while her body was inside his closet….
….He then said he put her body in a Navy-issued black wheeled duffel bag, according to USNI News.
“I knew people were looking for her and if she was found in my closet, I would be in trouble,” Copeland told the court.
“I would be in trouble”? If your woman catches you checking out the ass of a cute girl, you will be in trouble. If you are late to an important meeting, you will be in trouble. If you eat a gas station hot dog and then head out for a 5 hour road trip, you will be in trouble.
Having a dead girl that you strangled found in your closet? Well that is a bit more than “trouble”.
Fortunately he made it not terribly hard to catch him…
His GPS also placed him driving off base, and at 4:47 a.m. he dropped a Google Maps pin — and screenshotted it — near where Resendiz’s body was later found.
It is like people have no idea how this stuff works. 2G criminals frequently discuss their crimes via text message thinking no one could ever possibly subpoena their text records.
Copeland has had other incidents with women….
Among the charges, Copeland admitted to choking another woman aboard the USS Harry S. Truman on July 24, 2024, as well as secretly recording a woman in a bathroom stall and filming another woman during sex without her consent, USNI News reported.
What a charming fella! Now he gets to spend the next 44 years in the cozy confines of Leavenworth. I have never been there but I imagine it is an especially unpleasant prison.
We would be in a lot of trouble if black criminals (but I repeat myself) had anywhere close to average intelligence.
