This might explain a lot….

Secret Service agent who took bullet in Trump assassination attempt may have been hit by ‘friendly fire’

Oof.

A Secret Service agent hit during the apparent attempt on President Trump’s life may have been shot by one of his colleagues.

Cole Allen’s initial court appearance heard the agent fired five shots as the gunman tried to storm the White House correspondents’ dinner on Saturday.

His shots missed, but the agent himself took a bullet to his Kevlar vest.

“This heroic officer who was hit fired five times at Allen, who was not shot but fell to the ground and was promptly arrested,” said acting attorney general Todd Blanche.

Mr Blanche would not disclose details of who was responsible for hitting the agent – who survived – but said the attacker had fired at least once.

“The defendant fired out of his shotgun – we know that happened. But as far as getting into exacting ballistics, I’m not going to do that today,” he told reporters.

If you watch the super grainy clip of Allen running by the “security” checkpoint you can see an agent tracking him with his pistol like he is shooting a crossing pheasant with a shotgun and it looks like the agent that caught a round reacted about the same time as the pistol was pointed his way. It looked like a bunch of them were shooting and no one landed a rounded except the one that hit an agent.

An already ignominious incident for the Secret Service might be worse than we initially thought.

In an amusing side-note, the “would be assassin” Cole Allen was packing not one, not two, not three but four knives.

I quipped elsewhere that this guy has watched too many 1980s actions flick. Homie was geared up like Ah-nuld in Commando.

What was he going to do with four knives? Did he think Trump was going to grab a steak knife, leap over the table and that he was going to go mano-a-mano with knives against the Bad Orange Man like West Side Story?

I wouldn’t like my odds against cops wearing body armor and packing tacticool ARs versus a crappy Maverick pump shotgun, but I would like my odds far less facing those guys with a knock-off Ka-Bar.

This whole thing is going to be swept under the rug like a 2G mass shooting.

Haha, the secret cervix beclowns itself again. At this point, it seems rather obvious there must not be any real threats, because as inept as these asshole wankers are, if there were real assassins about, we’d already have a pile of dead poltiical whores. Maybe the SS is arranging these attempts to make themselves look better than they are, the same way the FBI like to set up a stupid patsy, to boost their number of “terrorist” apprehensions.

The perp’s pistol looks like a Tisas 1911, in .45
I don’t believe any federal agencies issue .45 cal pistols any more, so unless the SS agent was hit with a .45 cal round it was almost certainly friendly fire…

PSA has them in .45 and 9mm, that complicates things. I read somewhere about .380 Super, but walnut parkerized models are currently listed in the more common calibers.

Either way you have either a .45 or .358 bullet to eliminate SS shooter or not. If it was a .45 I would think you would be picking up limbs detached from the torso like a real round would do.

RIA 38 Super. They do base model runs of that caliber periodically. A .38 Super bullet is .001″ bigger in diameter than a 9mm.

No, a 45 will not detach limbs. A 12 gauge will. Like Clint Smith of Thunder Ranch says…….”Handguns make holes in you. Rifles make holes through you. Shotguns used properly remove chunks of your body.”

      RIA 38 Super.

None of the audio I have heard has any boom of a shotgun. Pretty easy to determine shotgun shot from pistol rounds.

The elephant in the room, based on that blurry video, is the perp runs down the hallway into a lobby area. The “agents” appear to be standing around with their heads in their dark spots. Big question for simple tacticians: WHY WAS NOT THE HALLWAY BLOCKED, ROPED OFF AND MONITORED? Remember what I wrote a few posts ago. Feds are not street cops and do not think like street cops. And sadly, depending on their GS-rating, they make way more money than the average LEO. I know that for a fact. Bleib ubrig.

I doubt that any of them used to be .mil either. If if they were, they were never in any of the combat arms. Otherwise, they might have known some basic principles such as establishing and maintaining ja secure perimeter.
