Strange Bedfellows Indeed

It has been feeling for a while now that we are in the midst of some sort of massive political* realignment in the U.S..

On the “left” the old guard of Democrats, people like Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi are rapidly aging out. Pelosi is supposed to be retiring at the end of this year while Chuckie Schumer (who will turn 76 this year) might face a primary challenge in 2028 from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, although AOC might gulp opt to run for the Democrat nomination for President that year.

The old skool Dems liked a more leisurely pace of “progress”. Old videos of Chuck talking about illegal immigrants would be considered far right fascism today. They preferred to push corporatist liberalism always with an eye on the current mood of the electorate on issues from sexual morality to taxes. They especially liked fattening their wallets via insider trading and building enormous networks of nepotism to benefit their families.

The newer breed of Democrats are impatient with the pace and scope of the older generation and people like AOC and Ilhan Abdullahi Omar are not only not scared of being called socialists, they enthusiastically embrace the term. They are less White in general with a few exceptions like Pete Bootygag who is a fag and Gavin “Gruesome Newsom” who has to be considered an early favorite for the Democrat nomination in 2028 but who will almost certainly have to select a non-White female running mate. Politically they are far more strident leftists and I am predicting that a Democrat sweep in 2028 will lead to the blowing up of the Supreme Court and massive changes to the American political scene.

On the “other side” in what passes for a right-wing in America, it is a little more complicated. For a very long time the “conservative”** movement was dominated by gatekeepers, most notably William F. Buckley Jr., who kept out the more strident right-wing, from the John Birch types to Pat Buchanan, to John Derbyshire and Sam Francis.

What was left was a sanitized, tame pseudo-right-wing concerned with massive military spending, tax reduction for the wealthy and paying just enough lip service to the major issues that got rank and file Republicans to the polls, gun rights and abortion, while clearly not caring in the least about those issues. The GOP was a coalition of upper crust, quietly socially liberal Whites, pro-life evangelicals and Catholics and people concerned with the 2nd Amendment. The NRA got gun owners to the polls, creepy evangelicals like Ralph Reed and James Dobson did the same for pro-lifers.

It worked well because the GOP establishment really didn’t care about winning and I believe in fact prefers losing. Being gracious losers is their sweet spot as with Bob Dole and Mitt Romney. They can pull in lots of donations by promising to end abortion and protect the 2A and not be expected to actually do anything because they aren’t in control. Looking at the congressional majorities under Trump 1.0 and now under Trump 2.0 and it sure seems to me that they can’t wait to lose so they can go back to talking big and then shrugging their shoulders because they can’t be expected to actually pass anything when in the minority.

Then something weird happened. Donald Trump of all people came down the escalator and announced he was running for President. A New York billionaire, a man with multiple divorces, a loud and brash lifelong Democrat was suddenly speaking to a group of people who had mostly been left behind by the political class: working and middle class Whites. Many were church-goers and many were not. Lots of genteel, proper Republicans recoiled in disgust while many people who felt disenfranchised came out of the woodwork and in one glorious night gave a giant middle finger to the ruling class.

Things went downhill pretty fast but seeing Rachel Madcow seething live as she realized that glass ceiling wasn’t getting broken that night was worth it.

That is all ancient history and now something else is happening.

The single issue that is sucking up all of the oxygen on the right is Israel. It has been for a long time, rather more quietly, going back to Pat Buchanan and even before, but now it is far more out in the open. It is really driving the generation gap which is growing wider and more contentious over the last few years with many older “boomercons” siding heavily with Israel and the latest attack on Iran (not all boomers of course) while younger conservative types are significantly less enthusiastic about the relationship with Our Greatest Ally.

While older conservatives are still fed a steady diet of Zionism via people like Mark Levin, Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity, their influence is fading as their audience dies off. These voices aren’t getting any younger, Loathsome Levin is 68, Glenn Beck is 62 and Sean Hannity is 64. Glenn Greenwald, himself both ethnically jewish and homosexual, has been a prominent voice of Zionism and American foreign policy vis-à-vis Israel and recently wrote:

For more than fifty years, prominent Americans were petrified to criticize Israel or question American devotion to it because of guaranteed reputational destruction. Powerful pro-Israel groups would instantly accuse anyone questioning Israel of anti-Semitism. That worked.

But all of that has changed over the last two-plus years, especially among younger Americans. They have, for the first time, seen the true face of Israel and U.S. devotion to that country. They hate what they see. And support for Israel in the U.S. has now collapsed.

Every demographic group except for conservatives over 50 has now turned against Israel. That once-unthinkable shift is reflected by the vehement opposition to U.S. support for Israel’s wars from leading American conservatives, including Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, and (before he was assassinated) Charlie Kirk.

Israel and the “Jewish Question” or “JQ” was mostly something on the fringes of the right, more recently in the “alt-right” and now among the “groypers”. That changed in the aftermath of the October 7th attack/false-flag. While initial public sympathy was understandably heavily weighted toward Israel, that began to flag quickly as pictures and videos started to come out of Gaza and the Palestinian civilian casualty number climbed into the thousands, then the tens of thousands.

Many people, especially younger people already abandoning the Israel-centric U.S. foreign policy, could understand the need for retaliation by Israel but it quickly appeared that this military retribution was looking more like ethnic cleansing.

When the latest attacks on Iran kicked off, they were met domestically by a lot of skepticism and quickly have turned into a sharp dividing line with many America First types, not to be confused with diehard MAGAs, declaring that Trump had finally pissed them off enough to wash their hands of him and the Republican Party that he now runs. It is pretty common to see many people on the right declaring that they will not vote for anyone who receives money from AIPAC which is a laudable goal but pretty much ensures not voting or voting for Democrats. According to AIPAC tracker in my state of Indiana only one member of Congress doesn’t get AIPAC money, André Carson, and he is a black Democrat.

My House representative Marlin Stutzman has taken $180,000 from AIPAC and spends a lot of his time shilling for Israel on social media but he is in a super safe seat with lots of older conservatives so it isn’t going to hurt him to not have me and my wife withholding our votes.

I was assuming a major bloodbath in the November midterms but now the only thing that will prevent a serious electoral calamity is that Democrats are so damn loony. There are still some semi-sane voices among the Democrats but their voices are drowned out the crazy far-left types.

Nothing earth shattering there but here is the so-what….

Mutual dislike of Zionism is not the stuff of a political alliance.

Or as I like to say, sometimes the enemy of my enemy is also my enemy.

Case in point. Last week a former U.S. Marine named Brian McGinnis put on his uniform and went to a Congressional hearing and began shouting that no one wants to die for Israel. He was dragged out by Capitol police, and he is lucky they didn’t shoot him, aided by a Republican Senator named Tim Sheehy. His arm or hand, I am not quite clear, was broken in the struggle.

Many of /ourguys/ praised this guy and taken in a vacuum his statement makes sense. A lot of GWOT veterans have no interest in seeing more U.S. servicemen and women coming home in flag draped coffins. Many Americans and more each day are tired of the bullshit that we have some sort of obligation to fight Israel’s wars.

However, this McGinnis guy isn’t just some Marine veteran. He is running for the U.S. Senate in North Carolina as the Green Party candidate. That means his platform is chock full of far left political positions including “free” college and “free” healthcare. He doesn’t mention it on his platform but the platform of the North Carolina Green Party is even worse, very anti-2A, pro-abortion, pro-sexual degenerate rights, etc. He is married to a hijab wearing woman.

On pretty much every issue other than Zionism, he is opposed to a lot of what I believe in. The Green Party as a whole is big on degeneracy, feminism, letting prisoners walk the streets, ridiculous “green energy” crap, amnesty for illegals and essentially no immigration controls, DEI/affirmative action, etc. The N.C. Green Party says stuff like: “Wildlife advocates, non-hunters, and anti-hunters should receive proportional representation in wildlife management agency oversight”. Ah, putting anti-hunters in charge of wildlife management sounds like a great plan!

The same is true for many other anti-Zionist Democrats. Ilhan Omar doesn’t like Israel but she hates White people in general as much as she does jews, except for her pussy White husband Tim Mynett. It is odd that so many far left, anti-White Democrat chicks are with White guys….

While I absolutely believe we need to sever the toxic, abusive relationship America is in with Israel and it seems to be coming to an end, I am also very cautious about getting into bed with people that hate me just as much as they hate jews. I am happy to let the left do their part to dismantle Zionism as the central feature of American foreign policy while at the same time I look forward to seeing those same leftists ground under my heel. Metaphorically speaking of course in Minecraft.

People like Ilhan Omar and Brian McGinnis are useful idiots in a very narrow sense but they are more idiot than useful on almost everything else.

*Yes, all politics, elections, etc. are fake and gay

**Assume quotes around the word conservative going forward

Not voting is a valid choice. Lucy should be able to pull the football only so many times. Your vote, whether for winner or loser, lends legitimacy to a system which doesn’t deserve it.

An Oil Shock is going to hit the World Economy this week. The following comment is here posted partially as a mitigating response but the second half–about Israel–is as important.

[AS, if it’s too long, edit as needed. Thanks]

” 20 million barrels didn’t vanish. They’re stranded. Production is still running — for now. Storage is filling.

WSJ confirmed Kuwait is already cutting production because tanks are full. Qatar declared force majeure on LNG — first shutdown in 30 years. When storage hits capacity, production stops involuntarily.

Restarting a shut-in field takes months. Some wells don’t come back.

Same shipping lanes carry food. GCC imports 80-90% of what it eats through Hormuz. Same insurers that pulled coverage for tankers pulled it for cargo. Same Maersk that left isn’t delivering grain either. Qatar’s energy minister told the Financial Times: exports — not just oil, exports — could halt within weeks.

GCC sovereign wealth funds put $131.8 billion into US markets last year. That pipeline runs on oil revenue. No exports, no revenue, no pipeline. Reuters this week: “Gulf sovereign wealth funds were built for a rainy day. This may be it.”

    NOW ASK WHO ARCHITECTED THIS.

Axios confirmed Netanyahu spent months in the White House pre-mapping Iran’s ethnic fault lines and armed groups before the first bomb dropped.

He called Trump on February 23 to reveal Khamenei’s meeting location. Israeli Defense Minister Katz admitted they’d originally planned the strike for mid-2026 — they accelerated it. Netanyahu told Fox News: “what I have yearned to do for 40 years.”

His 40-year wish just produced the largest oil disruption in history. GCC — Israel’s emerging normalization partners — can’t export, can’t import, can’t feed themselves within weeks. American gas spiked 14% in seven days. $3.7 billion burned in 100 hours. $50 billion supplemental requested. American troops dead in a Kuwaiti command center with inadequate protection.

And Israel? Zero ground troops deployed. Zero economic cost. Got its 40-year war funded by American taxpayers, executed by American pilots, absorbing Iranian retaliation on American bases in countries that aren’t Israel.

1973 was an oil shock that lasted months. 2026 is an oil shock, a food shock, a shipping shock, and a financial shock — running simultaneously through one chokepoint. With no off-ramp because the man who started it demands unconditional surrender and the country he’s bombing just chose the one leader he vetoed.

Netanyahu got his war. America got the bill. The Gulf got the damage. And the only economy not bleeding is the one that drew up the plan in the Oval Office before the first Tomahawk launched. “
