Man arrested for shooting person who stepped on his foot

Here is the fun part.
A man is being charged with assault after allegedly shooting a person for stepping on his foot.
According to court documents, the incident happened Saturday, June 21, at a party at 2269 East South Boulevard at about 10 p.m.
The victim was shot in the thigh and taken to an area hospital with a non-life-threatening wound.
Marice Devonte Watkins was identified as the suspect, arrested, and charged with first degree assault.
Court documents added that he shot the victim, “due to [the victim] accidentally stepping on Watkins shoe.”
Marice? It looks like U be missing a U in U name boy.
It is a perfectly reasonable response to shoot someone in the thigh for stepping on your fly kicks.
I am telling you, this warm weather is driving the chimps crazy. More good stuff incoming.
I seem to recall reading that in the Kingdom of Hawa’ii, it was the Death Penalty for Stepping on the King’s Shadow.

Were the shoes, in fact, blue suede? If so, a case may be made that the shooting victim was adequately forewarned, in song no less, as far back as 1955 by Carl Perkins. And reinforced a year later, by none other than Elvis Presley.

This is nothing new. I worked in L.A. in the early 80’s and one of my crew was a young black guy from South Central. He was telling me about “niggers getting killed for stepping on someone’s shoe.” Another worker was a young black guy from rural Louisiana. You should have seen his face when the first guy was telling his stories. Total disbelief. Same color, but from a whole different planet.
Well, good thing the rest of the party used the soup spoon properly. Otherwise we’d be looking at real carnage.
