Name something, pretty much anything, and blacks will claim that they invented it. Memorial Day is no different. I ran across this on Faceberg on one of my favorite pages to troll, The Root. (Side note, it is hilarious that they don’t ban me but they don’t because my trolling comments generate a lot of interaction which is good for the page).

Memorial Day may be the unofficial start of summer, but it is also time set aside to remember this country’s fallen soldiers. Many Black [sic] folks roll their eyes at what this day means, but they shouldn’t. We are the reason the holiday exists….
….On Mat 1 [sic], 1865 in Charleston, South Carolina, thousands of newly freed slaves organized a parade to honor soldiers who gave their lives that they might be free. This was not only a moving tribute, but it was also a symbolic one.
The parade took place on land that was once a Confederate prison camp where many of the organizers had been held. This celebration, then, was a middle finger to the Confederacy. It was as much an act of defiance as it was a gathering to honor the fallen.
Now, when we think of Memorial Day, images of white [sic] soldiers wearing uniforms come to mind. This is largely because after Reconstruction, this parade to honor what the formerly enslaved organizers called the “Martyrs of the Race Course”was ignored by white [sic] historians. Americans did not know that it was Black [sic] folks, the people that this country treated like cattle, were the ones who gave them this holiday.
The typo of “Mat 1” instead of “May 1” is pretty standard of the illiterates writing for The Root. The 2G that scribbled this nonsense is one Lawrence Ware, and he is employed by Oklahoma State in a variety of bullshit positions: “Lawrence is co-director of the Oklahoma State University Africana Studies Program and Teaching Assistant Professor and Diversity Coordinator in the Department of Philosophy”. That is a lot of words for “gets paid to be anti-White”.
Anyway, that isn’t true at all. Yes there was a parade on May 1st, 1865 but there were lots of commemorations of the fallen in the Civil War, as well as commemorations of the fallen for all of America’s wars before that. It wasn’t until a White general, General John Logan, issued a proclamation for a “Decoration Day” in 1868 that it became semi-official. In 1971 Congress changed the date of Memorial Day to the last Monday in May, creating a three day weekend. If anything the holiday was aimed more at commemorating the fallen of the Confederacy than some bullshit black holiday. Even Wikipedia admits: “However, no direct link has been established between this event (the Charleston parade in 1865) and General John Logan’s 1868 proclamation for a national holiday”.
Lawrence Ware also bitches about “Now, when we think of Memorial Day, images of white [sic] soldiers wearing uniforms come to mind”. Hey Larry, that might be because for most of American history virtually all of our combat soldiers and sailors were White?
It just goes to show, blacks can delude themselves into claiming as their idea pretty much everything that has ever happened in the world. Maybe if they spent less time claiming the achievements and ideas of others they might have some noteworthy accomplishments of their own?

We can only wish nig’s were a distant memory. That’d certainly be a day worth memorializing and celebrating in perpetuity though, if it ever actually happened.
They have to put themselves at the center of history because if the look around at what they are today, there’s nothing there of note outside of entertainment.
