The People Have Spoken

Well, at least a handful have spoken.

A little over 21 years ago, in March of 2004, I started blogging. At that time we lived in Northern Kentucky and we had “only” six children. For most of those 20 plus years I was blogging to myself with a small audience. It has only been in the last 3-4 years that my audience has grown, somewhat inexplicably to me, and on a number of occasions people have asked about throwing some money in the offering plate/tip jar/will blog for food can etc.

While I have chosen not to monetize my blogging for the last two decades, I went ahead and turned on the subscription option at Substack if you feel led to chip in a few bucks. Normally the way social media works is you are supposed to offer tidbits to entice people to subscribe. Here is what I am offering.

Everything I post will be public, comments will be for anyone, I won’t have special posts for subscribers.

The costs for maintaining the website aren’t enormous and I do pay some subscription fees for a few AI sites. The total is trivial. Still for those who have asked, you can subscribe to show your appreciation for the work. Do not feel obligated, what I really want are people to read and comment and enjoy the blog. It is a labor but a labor of love as I really do enjoy blogging.

Again, if you want to chip in a few bucks you can do so here: Dissident Thoughts

Thanks to all of you for reading and commenting, making me think and just as often making me laugh.
