Details are starting to trickle out about the alleged shooter and the D.C. finger pointing is in full swing. I assume you all know this but here is a reminder nevertheless:
The entire mission of the media from last night forward will be to muddle, confuse and obfuscate what happened.
Who the shooter is (he wuz a registered Republican!), what weapon he used (no pictures? huh), what motivated him, if the Secret Service dropped the ball or responded heroically or at some level was in on it.
My admonition is always the same: don’t focus on the shiny object. Don’t let Them distract you with smoke and bells and whistles. What They are focusing on is almost certainly not what you should be focusing on.
We know some things: someone shot at Trump and nicked his ear, missing his melon by an inch. I am not an expert on head trauma from gunshot wounds but I assume that if a 55 grain bullet hits even a glancing blow on your skull going what, 2500 feet per second at that range?, it is going to drive pieces of skull into the brain. Debilitating if not fatal. We pretty much know where the shooter was and we have seen the body. It would be a pretty neat trick to stage that part with over ten thousand people around so I am assuming that was the real shooter. Everything else at this point is kind of up in the air. We don’t as far as I can find even know the identity of the person that died or the two that were wounded.
There isn’t much you can do about the Big Picture right now. Keep yourself informed, be extremely skeptical, meme the shit out of this thing. Focus instead on what you can do. Will this be the last attempt on the Orange Man? I doubt it. Based on what I am seeing on social media there are literally thousands openly wishing the shooter had succeeded, assassinating a political rival in order to Save Our Democracy since jailing him doesn’t seem to be working. We have been warning for a long time now, 2024 is going to get spicy and it already is. There is a long way to go between now and November, and then potentially some real ugliness kicking off in January (if not sooner).
Does anyone think They will step back from the brink now?
Any plan that relies on putting a bullet through a man’s ear, barely two centimeters away from what would absolutely be a fatal shot, while he’s moving and gyrating and doing that weird flambouyant manner of speaking as trump does, is an absolutely insane plan that nobody would ever agree to. The window of opportunity to shoot him in the ear and not the forehead was barely a third of a second. That’s the kind of stuff that happens through dumb luck, AKA a very near miss. People thinking this was staged by the don are retarded and need to go back to arguing about how the earth is flat and how free energy is real or whatever.
I also just don’t find it that hard to believe that some angry lib would try something like this. It’s almost harder to believe they hadn’t for the past decade of the media (their god, remember) ginning them up into thinking *not* attempting to fry don’s brain is akin to letting hitler survive if you had a time machine. Lefty isn’t really well known for their firearms expertise so attempting to make a headshot instead of aiming for center mass (which would’ve killed him, he’s an old fat guy and couldn’t possibly have dodged in time for the shooter not to land 3-4 rounds into him), and just missing and panic-firing, that all seems very possible.
The fact that we know very little about the shooter after half a day probably means the DOJ is scrubbing his socials because it’s not a good look, which I think we all knew already.
Now how he got that close, why it seemed to take a while for the USSS to react (don ducked before they made him duck), why the guy even managed to get as many shots off as he did prior to the countersniper killing him, why no cops seemed to care that the guy was pretty visible before he even took the shots, those are all fantastic questions. Most importantly to me, there were like THREE buildings anywhere near that stage, how the hell they didn’t have people posted on all of them is just wild to me.
Institutional decay is very real, of course. I assure you the USSS isn’t sending their A-team to guard trump, I’m sure the fat woman in charge of the USSS hates him as much as every other government apparatchik. The police being worse than useless is something that you really should know by now if you’re in this thing of ours.
The executive branch also very openly wants the guy dead. They’d have settled for imprisoned but that somehow didn’t seem to work.
I don’t know. Occam’s razor, man. “Angry lib does what angry collectivists have done since the dawn of time” just isn’t that hard to believe. Maybe it was someone who’s really pro-palestine, don’s made his position on that shitshow quite clear. These people believe that utopia is just one heartbeat away, forever. They’ll gladly martyr themselves to take a shot at (what they see as) the king. Or you. Or me.
That is exactly it. Even a great, world class shooter, trying to nick him while he is moving? Come on. The simplest explanation might be the best, just a loon radicalized by the media, endless doom porn and LITERAL HITLER crap, and he decided to take matters into his own hands. If he knew what the hell he was going, a 30-06 or something and shots in the chest would have been fatal instead of thinking it is a video game and aiming for his head.
Yes. The idea that wounding him slightly was deliberate is ludicrous. The question of importance is whether this guy managed to pull it off on his own (aided by stunning incompetence on the part of USSS) or if he had help and/or encouragement from anyone other than random lefty loons in his own orbit.
Here in Canada, our beloved CBC is blaming President Trump for the assassination attempt. Said attempt was caused by President Trump’s attitude, rhetoric, and firearms policies.
It’s all his fault, you see.
There are also certain persons on the left saying that the shooter was only exercising his rights, as espoused by the idiots on the right. See? This is where those rights lead, apparently.
