‘He tried to kill me’: Police identify man wanted in Bloomington shooting who injured 19-year-old after argument over missing marijuana

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Bloomington man wanted for his alleged role in a shooting that left a 19-year-old with gunshot wounds in his neck and shoulder near Indiana University’s campus last month.
According to court documents, 21-year-old Dajhon Branson-Orellana faces the following preliminary charges:
- Aggravated Battery (Level 3 Felony)
- Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon (Level 5 Felony)
- Criminal Recklessness (Level 5 Felony)
- Pointing a Firearm at Another (Level 6 Felony)

I am assuming he is some sort of mixed race, maybe black and mestizo, as the “K” under race doesn’t make sense. A mestizo last name and 2G first name plus his photo seem to reinforce this.
The squabble started over 3 ounces of weed that went missing. I have no idea what 3 ounces of weed is worth but it can’t be much. On the other hand marijuana is still illegal in Indiana so it might be a hassle to get more? Anyway here is what happened next….
According to court documents, the victim called the shooter a b**** while recounting the alleged attempt on his life.
“He tried to kill me. He put it to my head. He thought I was gonna be scared of that. He pointed it to my head, pushed my head, and said, ‘I’ll kill you.’ I said, ‘b****, try,’” court documents said.
He then recalled hearing a “loud boom” after making this statement.
He did indeed try but being at least a partial 2G he of course failed to kill his target even though he was close enough to push the head of his “victim”. I am assuming this was some sub on sub violence given the sheer stupidity all around but there is no identification of the “victim”.
Your best bet is to not have anything to do with people with names like Dajhon Lee Branson-Orellana and not being a pothead certainly helps you avoid contact with his ilk.
