Director of children’s hospital stabbed to death by man who snuck into house through open window while family was sleeping, with wife and children then fleeing in terror
A leading doctor at a renowned children’s hospital was stabbed to death after an intruder slipped through an open window and crept upstairs before attacking the physician and his wife as they slept, police say.
Dr. Idris Evans, 46, a pediatric critical care physician and medical director at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, died after the horrifying early-morning attack inside his family home in Edgewood, Pennsylvania, on Thursday.
His wife survived the stabbing and, despite suffering serious injuries, managed to alert the couple’s children, aged eight and 12. They were able to get out of the house as violence erupted in their parents’ bedroom.
Police have charged 32-year-old Elijah Hemingway with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, burglary and criminal trespass over the attack.
Of course Hemingway has a lengthy rap sheet….
Allegheny County police have arrested 32-year-old Elijah Hemingway, of Pittsburgh. He has a rap sheet in the county courthouse going back to 2016, with his most recent prior arrest coming in July in connection with a burglary that took place in February, according to court records.

In a weird twist, Dr. Evans’ wife said he called Hemingway by name….
His wife told authorities she remembered her husband addressing the alleged attacker as ‘Elijah’ during the struggle, raising questions over whether the two men knew one another.
I wouldn’t say it “raises questions” if he addressed him by name given the guy was just in his underwear and trying to kill him, he knew him somehow but no word yet how they knew each other. The wife says she did not know Hemingway.
Regardless, the 32 year old Elijah Hemingway will now either spend most of his life in prison at taxpayer expense or most of his life in a mental institution, also at taxpayer expense, instead of becoming an Alabama wind chime which is what should have already happened.

What was the good doctor THINKING? He had a DUTY, a duty to PROTECT his family and he failed utterly. And paid the fine in blood.

We do share a certain approach to dark humor, don’t we? Always nice to find a like minded sort, as sometimes I think my efforts are either too obscure, or “over the line”. Often, the most oddly associated shit just pops into my mind, and maybe I amuse myself a little too much. But I do thoroughly enjoy humor that forces me to think, and always appreciate finding others who do the same. It’s a very specific attribute.
Saw and shared this with my husband early this morning. He had to go to Pittsburgh for a business trip last month and hated it, and I worried until he got home safe. It doesn’t matter if you are accomplished or earn a decent salary or even if you live in a ‘better’ neighborhood. If you are in a city with a significant % of nons, within a state run by Soros’ jewish buddies, your life is forfeit. Saw a single nogger yesterday when I did my weekly shopping; oftentimes they are delivery truck drivers but some of them are trickling in as residents. Even our little corner of heritage America is doomed unless people here awaken to the threat, while most of them have no idea how bad it is elsewhere.
I haven’t been to PBurg in a long time, didn’t care for it when I was there and don’t have any interest in going again.
