43 shot already and Sunday is looking like a perfect day in Chicago for the typical warm weather activities: grilling out, playing basketball, twerking and of course drive-by shootings. It is already 68 and sunny as of 9:30 heading for a high of 75 degrees. That spells more trouble in the Windy City.

A girl died and ten other people were injured after a shooting at a family gathering on the city’s South Side.
The shooting happened at about 9:18 p.m. near 52nd Street and South Damen Avenue, in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert for 18 gunshot rounds at the location, police said. They found multiple people shot and started performed live-saving measures on the victims.
A witness said they saw a black sedan approach the area, and someone unknown started shooting into the crowd before fleeing southbound on Damen Avenue, Chicago police said in an update on Sunday.

Some of those shot likely were saved because police were dispatched almost immediately thanks to ShotSpotter, a system that the mayor of Chicago wants to eliminate because it is “racist”. Other than the 8 year old girl shot and killed, several other chidlins were also wounded…

Most of my readers are gun owners and many are gun enthusiasts and shooters. Imagine shooting into a crowd where children were present. You can’t imagine it because you aren’t a piece of shit like the two joggers that shot into the crowd knowing damn well that kids were there. Of the adults shot, none died of course but a bunch were shot in the feet and legs. Solid shooting with your stolen Glocks equipped with switches no doubt.

It is utterly predictable that the mayor of Shitcongo (I still find myself wanting to call it VietRahm) would want to abandon Splibtone Spotter, as the much vaunted tech that was promised to help police reduce crime has served mostly to reinforce stereotypes about who (and where) was responsible for the majority of crime involving guns. Shot spotter is of dubious value, no doubt. But I just gotta laugh that they are pissing away money on tasers instead. This will almost certainly mean more dead cops (not that I’m going to cry over that outcome, certainly) as the thinking is to reduce the number of breadcrumbs that will be shot during police encounters. Any cop who goes for his taser as the first course of action will probably get aired out by the suspect who will be pulling a real gun.
