While the gyms this morning are full of people who made resolutions to get fit this year, resolve that will evaporate in about 3-4 weeks, I somehow managed to jack up my right foot. I worked out Friday morning and it seemed fine but by Saturday morning the ball of my foot was killing me and now I can barely get my shoe on. Even pressing the brake pedal is incredibly painful. I don’t think anything is broken but it sure hurts like hell, the only thing I can think is that I damaged something doing the calf extension machine. Who knows but no gym for a few more days I guess.
If it was your left foot I would have said something about your article on gyms being racist.
Happy New year.
My White supremacist exercising biting me in the ass. Or foot as the case may be.
Plantar Fasciitis???
BTDT hurts like hell.
I think PF is more toward the heel, this is near the big toe.
Big toe: check.
Swelling: check
Blew up overnight: check.
Sounds like gout.
Crap, that sounds exactly like it. I didn’t even think of that.
You didn’t happen to go keto, did you?
Also, I was on lisinopril/hctz for hypertension, and large dose vit. D for Bat-Aids. Both of those can cause gout.
Keep in mind, I’m a year younger than you, BMI 23, and not skinny-fat either.
Look at your diet, and drinking habits.
Possible bone bruise from pressure from the calf extension machine. Quite painful!
I kinda wondered, my foot is swollen pretty badly but it doesn’t really hurt like it’s broken
if no breaks show in an X-ray, find a chiropractor that does microcurrent treatment using machines similar to the WellnessPro. We have one and use it for illnesses, injuries, and have great success. Sounds like it would work for you as I had a similar injury.
It’s possible you might have fractured a metatarsal bone in your foot. I did that once and it hurt like hell.
I was worried about that too but it came on so suddenly that I think gout (see above) might be the answer.
I’m a fan of making low effort, achievable new years resolutions. This year I resolve to write a paragraph with my left hand every day. Hypothetically this will help improve my piano playing. I also have this idea that the rewiring of my brain that this does here in middle age will help stave off dementia.
I don’t think I could even write my name with my left hand but I also don’t play the piano. Maybe I could try shooting leftie?
My only resolution is that I will try to survive another year. If I’m lucky, I might actually accomplish that.
In this environment that might be the only goal worth setting
