The forecast called for snow on Monday and while surrounding areas got some, and even had some power outages, nothing for us. That just changed. It is snowing for real right now and the snow is starting to stick. Our pasture has a light layer covering it although the temperatures are slightly above freezing. It has been cold all day since mid-morning, windy and damp, and then a lovely bone-chilling rain this afternoon. It is always a bit of a shock to the system when we get that first real cold snap but that is what comes with living in the north. I’ll take this over scorching heat in the summer any day.
Why we moved from central OH south to E TN, hot couple months in summer but not scorching. And got away from the no longer fun winter weather mood swings there.

When it is cold one can always add another layer, but there are limits to how many layers one can take off when it is hot. And the insect count is waaay down in the last three days, in NE Indiana.
For some reason we had almost no mosquitoes this year which was nice but the flies were kinda crazy

It is foolish to bash the God of creation and His revealed Word when you are on the brink of destruction.
"Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men." (2 Peter 2:3-7)
"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.
Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them." (Romans 1:18-32)
These judgements of God are already on America and it's just getting started (read Revelation 6-16).

One of my favorite preachers David Wilkerson stated the year before his passing that " Americas Cup of Abomination is Full . We now must drink of the Cup of Trembling" . Even now I must admit I find it difficult to pray for America with the stench of her sins emanating forth to heaven . And yes it gets cold in these Buckeye Hills but we just cut more firewood . And the skeeters don't fly away with it up here like down south , heh .
