WASHINGTON — President Biden has signed an order authorizing the military to once again deploy hundreds of Special Operations forces inside Somalia — largely reversing the decision by President Donald J. Trump to withdraw nearly all 700 ground troops who had been stationed there, according to four officials familiar with the matter.
In addition, Mr. Biden has approved a Pentagon request for standing authority to target about a dozen suspected leaders of Al Shabab, the Somali terrorist group that is affiliated with Al Qaeda, three of the officials said. Since Mr. Biden took office, airstrikes have largely been limited to those meant to defend partner forces facing an immediate threat.
Together, the decisions by Mr. Biden, described by the officials on the condition of anonymity, will revive an open-ended American counterterrorism operation that has amounted to a slow-burn war through three administrations. The move stands in contrast to his decision last year to pull American forces from Afghanistan, saying that “it is time to end the forever war.”

It's been more than obvious for the last two centuries that this country's wars and 'conflicts' were all fought for economic and hegemonic interests – never for national defense, liberty or in the best interests of the American people.

I assume that Biden "singing off" on something goes like this "Mr. President, do you want some ice cream and to send troops to Somalia?" If he drools twice, that counts as a yes
For phuck's sake, WHY?!? This incompetent regime can't even handle a baby formula shortage, so why are we still playing international politics, especially in such a dismal backwater as Somalia? Why can't this sort of meddling be put to a popular vote? I guaran-damn-tee that no one at all aside from a few rag-headed congressrats cares enough about that shithole to be sending our boys and our bucks that way.

Minneapolis is getting bad.
It's the preferred live fire training grounds for US spec ops guys. It gives the new guys easy capture kill missions to pop their blood cherries. Just an advanced version of going to the landfill and shooting rats.
Why? Somalia isn't really even worthy of a carpet bombing . . . .
