The jury has the case and starts deliberations in the morning. Hopefully this will be quick and a not guilty on all charges verdict will come before noon. I doubt that will be the case, instead I expect Kyle to be convicted on some of the lesser charges while avoiding the big ones. Opinions are varied on what to expect, juries have fooled us before even in cases that seem clear, and often as the result of being intimidated and fearing violent backlash. Sending this kid to the slammer for life for killing two criminals and wounding a third would be a gross injustice. That doesn’t mean it won’t happen.
Either way, it will reveal the latest schism in America. Whether it leads to violence or not remains to be seen.
